  1. If you can’t do it online, just call. We are 7, so need an 8 top, no issues.
  2. Sailed on 4 different NCL ships, 2 daughters have celiac, they ate better than at home and loved it. Let’s special needs know ahead of time, go to a MDR for lunch upon boarding, someone will most likely come to your table and explain how it works. Those with allergies can preorder meals, mine ordered dinner and breakfast the night before. We always ate breakfast in the buffet and just called the number to let them know we were on our way. Covered trays of great gf food brought right to our table, waffles, pancakes, muffins, eggs Benny, bread - pretty much anything they wanted. For dinner they looked at the next night’s menu and could ether ask for modifications or order off menu. Flourless chocolate cake was brought, as well as Brazilian cheese bread from moderno. They’d do the buffet for lunch and just ask if they had concerns, or needed gluten free pizza, rolls, bread… We’ve been dealing with celiac for 13 years and cruising is the way to go with their dedicated allergy kitchens. Do not cancel for this reason.
  3. I live outside Manhattan in NJ and had to google smoked meat sandwich, I don’t think our area is known for them.
  4. We avoid elevators and take stairs but alway book as close to the elevators nd use the stairs, no noise.
  5. We just told them their limit and that was that. When we went to WDW they got gift cards, when they were spent, that was it. When they were old enough to go off on their own on cruises, I verbally informed them their limit (5 kids, I’m not very generous), and if they went over they’d be paying me back.
  6. I think this gets asked fairly often, a lot of times someone wants to double book a suite and a cheaper cabin to have the perks plus privacy, it can’t be done (or at least I haven’t heard any success stories).
  7. Adjoining means next door, connecting means a door connecting the cabins.
  8. Unless they had cfar insurance nit having the necessary documents wouldn’t have been covered by insurance anyway.
  9. The iced tea is unsweetened (exactly how I like it).
  10. I think this is what you are looking for https://www.nywaterway.com/PortImperialWeehawkenRoute.aspx
  11. I’d say make reservations at the specialty and not bother in the complimentary.
  12. Why bother? The card works the same as a license and birth certificate. Folks bring passports in case of an emergency to be able to fly without a hassle.
  13. I’ve never used this company, but ha seen it recommended many times. https://www.cherylbahamastaxiandtours.com
  14. If you’re going into Manhattan I’d pay more to stay in weehawken/Jersey city (it will cost to park) and then drive to bay one and park. Easy ferry or quick path ride into nyc, beautiful views, shopping, restaurants. There are very few stay and park places. Easy to get a bus from secaucus hotels, but I don’t think parking is secure, I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving my vehicle for a week.
  15. The last time we went we left from liberty state park (we live in NJ) and the security line after check in took about an hour (it was a Saturday in July but lines in NY tend to be longer). At Ellis island they give you headphones to do a self tour.
  16. Yes, PP. They are supposed to open them, but it hasn’t been an issue for my husband, our fridge was full of beer by day 2. I used to pay corkage to be able to have drinks in the cabin/balcony even with the UBP, now that there is no additional cost, even better. I don’t drink soda or juice, mostly water and unsweetened iced tea I get free from the buffet.
  17. On our last 2 cruises (it’s been a while) no bathrobes in our balcony cabins (breakaway and gem).
  18. Get the drink package. For about $20 a day pp, your husband can stock up on beer (my husband was always able to find bartenders who would give him 2 unopened beers at a time) and if you have the package, you can bring unlimited bottles of wine onboard for free (instead of paying $15 a bottle for corkage). You can also get free soda and virgin drinks.
  19. I’d check it then and just expect a phone call, I don’t know how busy the room gets but you won’t have to pay corkage at least.
  20. In the past, if wine was put in checked luggage it meant a trip to the naughty room to get them.
  21. It’s been my understanding that when we book a family balcony, it means closer to the kids clubs, at least on the ships we’ve sailed.
  22. You usually get a check in time, and you will be given a boarding number. They can’t start boarding until the ship is clear of departing passengers.
  23. Yes, they will hold your bottle and give you a ticket, they will retrieve your wine at any venue.
  24. If you want to go into the SOL, make reservations now, especially if you want crown tickets. Only one company allows access to the SOL, statue cruised. I love Ellis island. Security lines to get on the ferries will be long.
