  1. Sure, it’s not Celebrity being predatory with theor pricing. After all, if people don’t notice thousands more, it must be okay, right?
  2. Jeez, Celebrity. So many things that people like you are taking away.
  3. Thank you for doing that. It is unfortunate that you had to.
  4. Would love to know this too. Tallin is a pretty good hike from the cruise port I have read.
  5. I think a lot of the reason may be (and I don’t claim to know why) that as a tender port with typically long, long tender times, this port has a much higher percentage of passengers either waiting on board to depart, or ones who simply bypass Grand Cayman and don’t get off at all. I have been to Nassau many, many times. But I will still get off because it’s easy. Grand Cayman? Nightmare to depart. Never getting off there again unless something really changes.
  6. Here’s your explanation: most on the ship have the drink package. Close all the bars save one, but back on the help, and Celebrity makes bank.
  7. Yes indeed. We have a 12 night Scandinavian in Aqua this summer. Already paid for and was quite reasonable. May be the last for awhile. Not to be too revealing, but I know what we make and our income is in the top single digits, percentage-wise. Just checked and we are in the top 4% for the country. And the new prices of flights and hotels seems really high to me… offensively high, even. Does everyone defending the high prices make that much more than us? BTW: just booked the #1 rated hotel in Southampton for the nights before our cruise. Their largest loft room. Less than $200 US for the night, tax included. So not everywhere is nuts.
  8. My point was not their logic. But why they think they can get away with it. this won’t end well unless they change and fast.
  9. My analysis is simple: Celebrity is drastically lowering quality and drastically raising prices everywhere it can. Simple, really. Any flaws to be found are with Celebrity’s recipe for mediocrity while posing as exceptional.
  10. Yes indeed I agree with your point: Celebrity isn’t losing money on anything they serve us to eat or drink, that is for certain. What they pay for their labor is far below the US too so profit margins are higher. I stay in midtown Manhattan in a 1BR suite for $350 a night (covers both of us) and our food isn’t more than $300 a day either. So why Celebrity thinks they can charge what they are trying to charge now and then lower the quality is a mystery to me.
  11. Google is only the merest attempt to source. This isn’t about waste. It is about cost cutting.
  12. I may not. But these guys seem to. Buy 4 cases and get a bigger discount. What if I buy 20,000 cases a month? What price then? https://www.webstaurantstore.com/4-oz-north-atlantic-lobster-tail-10-lb-case/872RE91103.html
  13. Except, lately, on Celebrity. Becoming more Carnival-like every day.
  14. Ummm… one quick Google search for wholesale lobster and you can buy right now 40 4 ounce tails for $219.00. That’s $5.19 per tail. what price do you think I can get if I commit to thousands per month?
