Good morning and Happy New Year 2023! Last night we celebrated with lobster tails and champagne. Yum. I forgot to take a picture of the lobster. I brought out the glasses we got on a cruise December 1999! We had to wash them we hadn’t used them in so long. The fireworks and firecrackers started about 10:00 and got really crazy at midnight. It kept me and Blue up. So we slept in. Today I’m making Eggs Benedict with crispy prosciutto instead of Canadian bacon. I just read on the Future Cruise list that Dixie and her DH @summer slopeare on our Hawaii cruise! Have a great day everyone! I’m off to read the Daily now.

Yes, that’s correct, however we never use Cellular at Sea. Way too expensive—we text each other a lot. We always keep our iPhones on airplane mode while at sea and still get each other’s texts, but remember that I said this is on the upgraded internet package. Once docked we switch off airplane mode and use the $10 a day feature on our AT&T plan. It really is nice especially when on a port intensive cruise like we were in the Med in June on the Oosterdam. DH was in covid jail for 6 days on that cruise and we texted frequently.

Nope. CO is only for CO - it’s quantity controlled. 4 and 5* cannot get in. If they could, my other friends who are 5* would be joining us. Believe me, It’s CO only. Perhaps it changes if it’s not sold out? It’s sold out here and is on most Pinnacle Class ships I was told. Jacqui, Joy was talking about the CO line at Guest Services, not the CO dining venue. However, I’m surprised someone told her 4 & 5 star could use that line. That’s one of the big perks about having CO added. I always have my key card out so they can see the orange. My husband and I upgrade when onboard to the premium plan so we can text each other. We both have iPhones. It’s faster than through the Navigator app. However, we have AT&T so can’t speak for Verizon. We have signed up through AT&T for their international plan which is $10 a day for both of us. What is nice about the plan is that you only pay for 10 days per month. Maybe Verizon has something similar.

The hair dryer works fine and is similar to what you find in hotels. I actually prefer my own because it’s ionic and better for frizzy hair but I kept blowing the fuse when on the Rotterdam a year ago so I had to use the one provided.

Well, I goofed earlier when I said we were having sparkling wine. We are actually having this. I hope it’s good because I bought it last year as a gift but never gifted it. I got it at Trader Joe’s and the price must have been good or I wouldn’t have purchased it. I’ll report later. Bon Voyage! Enjoy the WC!

Thank you Graham. Yesterday he seemed to be on the mend. The eucalyptus oil really helped. I did hear about a butter shortage around Thanksgiving time but we never had a problem finding it at Trader Joe’s. Glad you finally found it because your Beef Wellington wouldn’t be the same. Does Mrs XB use Graham Ramsey’s recipe?

Thanks to everyone who posts here, I won’t list names because I’ll probably miss someone, but just know how much I appreciate everyone. DGD came over last night and is still sleeping. I’m not sure if she’s staying tonight. Our son ended up getting really sick after catching it from his girlfriend’s daughter. He ended up going to urgent care and tested positive for the flu. They recommended eucalyptus oil and Craig went searching for it, thank goodness one drugstore knew which location stocked it. Anyway, DS said it was a miracle and has really helped him breathe easier, especially when sleeping. Rest In Peace Pope Benedict and Barbara Walters. Gerry @ger_77, I am so sorry for your losses in your family. Yesterday must have been very stressful. @HAL Sailer, I’m sorry to hear about your DSIL and prayers for her peaceful passing. Joy @Seasick Sailor, great news about the laundry! How is your thumb? Did you lose the nail? Ouch. I will pass on the meal suggestion even though I love mushrooms, I just prefer them all by themselves or stuffed. I’ll celebrate champagne and have a bottle of sparkling wine that I need to get in the fridge. Have a great day everyone!

Good evening! Somehow the day got away from me. But I did put a hold on a cruise. I just couldn’t decide what to book and was torn between Hawaii and the British Isles. However, since our last international flights in June were so crazy and stressful, we decided Hawaii would be the best this time. We’ve been to Hawaii before but it was 1984 and we’ve never sailed so it’ll be fun, plus I love all the sea days. Sandi @StLouisCruisers, I checked out our roll call and it was 6 pages of posts between two posters, back and forth back and forth. I’m glad your roll call is more interesting and to have Debbie and her sister too is fantastic. The cruise is on hold because I’m adding Club Orange and our PCC couldn’t call them today because of her schedule and the holiday. Anyway, I’m just shocked that I got Craig to cruise longer than 14 days. @luvteaching — that is so exciting DH is coming home. What a great way to start the New Year. Joy @Seasick Sailor, Oh dear on your laundry. I hope it turns up soon. Linda @lindaler, I was wondering about your luggage. Good news that it’s been found but yikes on living out of your carryon. Good morning and Happy Thursday! I think I’ll pass on Pepper Pot, especially after reading what it really is from Tina @0106. And am not sure about the meal suggestion — I don’t think I’ve ever had succotash. I like all the ingredients but separately. I am going to make pumpkin pie today, something I haven’t made in years. We usually buy it at Trader Joe’s but they haven’t had it since Thanksgiving. And we are having meatloaf and mashed potatoes today. I hate to admit it but the meatloaf is from Trader Joe’s and it’s really good. Craig will make the mashed potatoes. I read that Linda @lindaler had problems with luggage. Does anyone know if she has gotten it yet? Have a great day everyone!

It’s fantastic, it’s a beautiful picturesque Greek island. I felt like it was a dream because it was so pretty. We took a tour that included the cave of St John where he was exiled and wrote the book of Revelation and the tiny Greek Orthodox Church nearby.

Rich, this new font is easier to read. I really like New Times Roman though. I’m glad you enjoyed Cozumel. Can you share the name of the restaurant you ate at? By the way, was the water choppy? We were there January 2015 and it was very rough. I heard that in January it is rougher.

Patmos isn’t usually a HAL port. On our 2001 Med cruise on the Rotterdam we weren’t able to get to Athens due to a transportation strike and went to Patmos instead. What a gorgeous beautiful island!
