  1. Check out this link. Pick your port of departure and look at the details, but the way I read it, you do not need a proctored test, just a test. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise
  2. Passports are accepted for identity and place of birth, they are not accepted for residency or legal presence.
  3. Not true. https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/license-id/nc-real-id/Pages/requirements.aspx
  4. Just got a call from my Mom. She had called the woman that cleans her house when she is in Florida and asked her if she would go check on it for her since she is up in NH. The woman just checked it out and it is fine, no leaks inside and no damage outside, just a few palm fronds in the yard. The woman did get stopped by one of the neighbors asking what she was up to as no one has been there in a long time since my Mom died!! 😵 At least my Mom could laugh at the mistake. 😄
  5. You will have no issue getting a table for two. We request a table for two every cruise and have never been given anything else.
  6. That post was referring to Ellen, she posted this morning about rising water in her yard and no power. @A&L_OntGlad to hear Crystal and her husband are alright.
  7. Depending on where on deck 13 your cabin actually is, there is a large overhang from the deck above you which prevents your balcony from getting a lot of sun. There can be noise from the pool deck above you or from a restaurant above you as we experienced, so it really depends on exact location. I liked the proximity to the Windjammer, Coastal Kitchen and the Seaplex as we would just take the stairs, but we did have noise issues. If you post the cabin number, we might be able to give you more information.
  8. Very good advice as insurance is not a one size fits all purchase. People need to discuss it with someone who knows what they are talking about but they also have to decide what they are trying to cover. Are you trying to get your cruise fare covered in case you cancel or are you looking to be able to get home, to a hospital of your choice if you get sick or are injured far from home. There are stories you hear every year of someone who gets injured on a cruise and are airlifted back to a Florida hospital and then insurance will not bring them closer to home. There was a poster here whose DH had a massive heart attack on a ship, causing the ship to be diverted to Canada and he was eventually transferred to California. They had great insurance but she still had to put up a lot of funds to get him home. It is the "what ifs" that we really need to think about.
  9. Check in opens at midnight local time of the port city the ship is sailing from.
  10. Thanks! We are driving down on the 8th, I don't like to drive down morning of the cruise just in case there is a problem. We won't see you sail in but maybe we will try to see it sail back out again. Depends on how early we get on the road. Have an awesome cruise with calm seas!
  11. We leave on October 9th to Port Canaveral, Nassua and Coco Cay. Ian will be gone by then but there is another storm that has a 70% chance of forming in the next 5 days. We will have to see where that ends up going or if there are more after it. We have no problems if we are rerouted to NE/Canada if there is a storm, we just don't want the car sitting in an open lot that could flood, so EWR it will be if needed. Watch us change to NE/Canada and have a stop in Boston! 😄
  12. @Luckynana Have a wonderful cruise! I actually looked into parking at EWR and if you make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, the economy lot is $21/day and P4, the daily garage is $29/day. Uber from P4 to the port is $31. It is definitely a good option if storms are in the area. I know you were thinking of that option too if your daughter wasn't going to drive you.
  13. You should have stopped at the podium the first night after dinner and requested that particular table and waitstaff for the rest of the week. We have done that on many sailings with no issue. We then just walk up to the podium each night and say cabin XXXX going to table XXX.
  14. I have only ordered wings once through room service but I think it was five wings.
  15. What time did you get to the port? Someone else said they got to park in the garage when they got there later.
  16. We were just having that discussion with our son since we sail from there soon too. He wasn't sure if I was joking or not when I told him some people were having family drop them off instead of parking there and would he consider it. We are only a four hour drive each way. 😄 We are actually planning on parking at EWR and taking an Uber to the port if a storm is headed that way when we sail. I would rather pay more for parking/Uber than have to replace my car because it got flooded out.
  17. OP asked about the garage. I know where the lots are, we plan on parking there if the storms calm down, otherwise, we will park at EWR and Uber to port.
  18. we have parked there many times too. It is currently for handicap parking only. There is currently only one garage there so I am not sure why you would think I am referring to another.
  19. It currently is not open for all cruisers, only handicap.
