  1. A lot more fish at that now then we saw it last. I don't remember the cannons though. The plane had a ton of fish in lots of varieties. Too bad that is outside the boundaries now.
  2. There was another rockslide yesterday. This is from a Skagway News FB post posted August 3. A landslide occurred on Railroad Dock at approximately 5 p.m. While there is significant debris, no injuries were reported. The passengers from the Norwegian Encore, around 1,800 still in town, are being tendered back to their ship from the Small Boat Harbor. Since this vessel has no tenders, they are being assisted by the Holland America Noordam. Borough Manager Brad Ryan reported that the security booth was hit by rocks. The slide is located at what is dubbed the North Slide area.
  3. We have snorkeled off the first beach on Chill Island. We went out towards the lifeguard stand out in the water. There used to be a submerged plane out there but someone said it was removed. We have seen fish and sting rays from that beach. We have seen lemon sharks over in the area of the cabanas. You can bring your own equipment if you want, you don't have to rent theirs. They used to require you to wear a dive vest though and would let you use one for free. We haven't snorkeled the last few times we have been there so not sure if they are still requiring them.
  4. Correct, you would become diamond on the cruise after. You need to decide if the cost of a 2-3 night cruise is worth it just to get diamond benefits. If you live close to a port with short cruises, it might be worth it. Add the prices of the benefits you would you and decide.
  5. You asked about birth certificates, did you specifically ask about Puerto Rican birth certificates? I am sorry you were denied boarding but I just don't see how the rep that booked this would tell anyone all the exceptions. It is up to us to know what documents we need to travel and to have the correct ones. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-travel-documents-are-required-for-cruises-from-united-states-ports
  6. How was the booking agent supposed to know you had an invalid Puerto Rican birth certificate though?
  7. Date of vaccines make a difference on some European cruises. You can see your requirements in this link. Just choose your port of departure to see the rules for your sailing. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise
  8. Most of the time you can put vaccine information in at check in 45 days prior to sailing. Sometimes you can’t and just have to wait until closer to 30 days prior. Once ours was finally available, validating took less than a day.
  9. That headline is ridiculous. The fishing boat hit the cruise ship, the cruise ship did not hit the fishing boat.
  10. Quantum and Ovation use the Railroad Dock rear and Princess uses the forward berth.
  11. There was another rock slide? The last I had seen, the pier was open again after the rock slide from a few weeks ago.
  12. Oasis are under the vanity if I remember correctly. Allure are also under the vanity but have a multi-plug device mounted on the vanity that is plugged in under the vanity.
  13. I would not want an aft facing balcony on Voyager unless it was on deck 10. The JS on deck 6 and deck 7 are set way far back in the superstructure of the ship, not a great cabin. You really need to consider the ship when bidding on Royal Up. I would never place a bid on a JS for Voyager class ships or Freedom class ships specifically because of those deck 6 and 7 cabins. I would not have cancelled bids on Wonder as I can not think of any cabin that would have similar issues.
  14. My Family Time Dining information is all over the cruise lines website. I searched for you. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/search?q=family+time+dining&page=1
  15. The FAQ about testing positive precruise says cruising party are those in your cabin. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds-policy.pdf
  16. I booked a cruise on July 18th and my booking invoice shows the $14.50 and $17.50 rates. I checked it last night when I saw the July 15 date being thrown around.
  17. That is what the average would be. The annuity increases 5% each year, with an initial payment just under $20 million and final payment just under $80 million. Most people take the lump sum payout.
  18. Based on the current $1.28 billion estimate, the annuity would pay approximately $42.67 million a year for 30 years. Edit to add: that is also before taxes.
  19. The cash payoff of the billion is just over $600,000,000 instead of taking the annuity. That $600,000,000 is then taxed.
  20. You can connect to the ships wifi without going into airplane mode. You connect to the ships wifi so you can use the Royal App to make reservations and to do muster. None of this uses any "minutes" or cellular. They can use each of their 24 hours of Voom to access the internet on a sea day or at some point that they feel they need it. They should go into airplane mode when they are done using their cell service in port. We go into airplane mode about an hour after we leave port as we usually still have signal from shore.
