  1. So very glad I had lunch before catching up on your posts! I just made note of the restaurant -- definitely need to stop there on my next visit to Taormina.
  2. You've had what I would call a perfect day. The photos are lovely!
  3. It's a shame you're there on a Friday, but definitely better than just another sea day. I agree with @Jim_Iain That is a nice looking backpack. Thanks for the link.
  4. If you're looking for things to do in Muscat I highly recommend visiting the Grand Mosque. It is absolutely beautiful! Looking forward to following along on your cruise.
  5. Really glad that was settled quickly. I find all things flight related to be the greatest stress these days.
  6. I had the same problem (in the US) but assumed the cruise was sold out. Hopefully, the problems have been sorted.
  7. I did the Taj Mahal pre-cruise trip earlier this year. It was well organized and followed the described itinerary fully. We stayed in the named hotels and every detail was taken care of. I am sure you will enjoy your trips.
  8. I think you are correct; it makes sense to finalize the location based on numbers as 200 would not fit directly in front of the library. I hope you get lucky with that. Enjoy your cruise on Endeavour.
  9. I just posted above I was on the Spirit and we did have our event at the library. The ship was nearly full but only about 100 passengers attended the concert. I paid $229. We didn't have a dinner but there were nibbles provided -- olives, chips and something else I cannot recall (and of course wine!).
  10. My evening was just as you describe and I was on the Spirit in April. The ship was nearly full but only about 100 passengers attended the concert. I had assumed it would be at the larger theater site so was happy to be at the library instead.
  11. I did the evening concert earlier this year. We had the site to ourselves. As the sun went down the lights came up and it was just beautiful. The performance was at the library -- see the photo below. I would definitely do this again if I had the opportunity.
  12. I'd simply dispute the charge with my credit card company.
  13. Your comments were not negative or complaining. You have provided information which will be helpful to many people. The changes to the Chronicles will bother me -- especially as it turns it into a 80 page digital file! With your comments I will have time to prepare for that. Thanks for sharing.
  14. You need to ask your SS rep or your travel agent to get you the record locator number. Once you have that you will need to use it on the airline website to access your flight. Some airlines won't allow you to make changes to the seats until after SS has fully paid. I don't know if upgrades will be possibly; I am pretty sure it's dependent on the specific airline and their contract with SS. You can always try and see what happens.
  15. That sunrise over the bridge is just lovely!
  16. I am really looking forward to reading about your trip; especially as Italy is my mothership too ! 😀 🥂
  17. As the above poster mentioned I don't know if a P2P can be transfered -- I know they often have tight restrictions. If you have a D2D I know you can move the deposit to something else as long as you are outside final payment/ penalty phase -- I have done so. As for the future cruise consultant not mentioning the open booking: I suspect they get more commission/recognition by selling an actual cruise. However, that is no excuse to hide that option.
  18. Thanks for the heads up; I log in once a week but it's always good to know if/when changes are made.
  19. One more thing regarding the Open Booking: If you do not apply it to a cruise in the six months you get the full $1000 back.
  20. 1. I have seen wine decanted at the next table, not sure if it was a bottle purchased onboard or brought on. Although I have not done so my self I am pretty sure you can ask for your bottle to be decanted if it is not offered. 2. As for taking the remaining bottle to your room, I have done so in 2019. I brought a bottle to dining room; I didn't ask about decanting as we intended to have it kept for our next dinner. (It didn't occur to me until just now that the waiter did not offer to decant, he was struggling in so many ways I missed that omission). Without being asked (or asking our preference) the waiter brought the bottle and left it on the table as we we finishing dessert. On the way out I did ask the Maitre'd if they normally offer the option of storage, at which point he offered to hold the bottle for us. By this time, I had little confidence in the procedure so I took the bottle back to our cabin and finished it on the balcony the next night. I had a couple more bottle with me on that trip but didn't bother to take to the dining room as it seemed like it was going to be a hassle. On my more recent cruise we just drank the included wines to avoid the hassle. I am sure others will chime in with their experiences.
  21. Thanks for the quick response. The information is helpful. I think I made a good move for me as I like to stand at the rail when we are docking and didn't consider the public spaces when I first booked.
