  1. I think you are missing the point. Most of us who give the crew candy and/or other treats, also give them money over and above what the automatic tip is. We are not replacing a tip, we are adding to it. I suppose I could give the person in the International Cafe that brings my coffee every day $21.29, instead of $20 and a bag of M&Ms.
  2. We quite often ask a favorite bartender/server if they would like something from shore if they don't have time to go that day. Last trip it was M&Ms and chips. The strangest request was a can of Spam. This is not a tip, it is a favor. So, it could be considered "cash and treats", as cash is given at the end of the cruise.
  3. Should have been for the ride, and that should include tip. Taxis in Fort Lauderdale are notorious for not starting the meter, and saying that it is a flat rate. Be sure the meter is running.
  4. Did you get Hyatt points with the Valuetrip reservation? Most places don't give points for bookings through a third party. If so, I'll have to remember that for future reference.
  5. Or maybe standard toilet paper, Plus Paper, and Premium Paper.
  6. Breakfast was included in the Valuetrip reservation for Nov 21 and 22, 2022.
  7. It hasn't been formal night. I usually didn't order it on the first night. They have changed the presentation, and got rid of that soggy piece of corn on the cob. Recently was aboard Emerald Princess on a 10 day sailing. Had the best prime rib ever on a cruise ship. It was big, thick, and very rare.
  8. and quite often saw the sun rise. I guess I'll have to quit this, and not go outside at night.
  9. On the seven day cruises we've been on since reopening, Prime Rib has been on the second night.
  10. It was reasoning like this that led to the 15-drink limit, from the unlimited drinks when the package first came out.
  11. Got into Fort Lauderdale today. While riding in a cab to hotel, I notice a sign on the window stating that a minimum charge of $13 for transportation from pier to pier.
  12. A lot of people got free specialty restaraunt vouchers when things opened up. Crown Grill booking up before sailing has been quite common. We have had good luck booking once on board.
  13. Have been on seven cruises in the last year, Prime Rib is now night number two. Second formal night is still lobster and Beef Wellington.
  14. Make sure they use the meter. It is not a set price.
  15. First day go to the restaurant you want, and make reservations.
  16. The only diet they have with the gun is diet Coke. They sometimes have Sprite Zero in the can. At least one bar usually has diet tonic. The only problem is that sometimes it takes the whole week, or all 15 drinks, to find the diet tonic. Also, try soda.
  17. Just used EZ Check on Nov 3. Still $25, and domestic flight must be after 11:30 am.
  18. Found this out when trying to book a cabin for the April 3, 2024 cruise to view the total eclipse. Had to book a guarantee two weeks after booking opened. Later checked availability looking for cabins for three, and found some open. Called our travel agent, and she booked one for us in less than a minute.
  19. If it's available after a trans-Atlantic is a tough one. Ask Guest Services once you sail. It was not on a sailing we were on a couple of years ago. But, we were the first Princess ship into Fort Lauderdale that fall, and all passengers and crew had to clear immigration. We used it this January, and Southwest Airlines was one of the participants at that time.
  20. You don't even need luggage tags; you can get them at the port. And by all means, don't stress about it.
  21. Agree with Lizabu. We had the package of 10 in May, by the way it was only $169 with pre-purchase. We got 10 prints, and a ship shaped thumb drive with those 10 pictures stored on it. We use the thumb drive to make prints at various drug stores.
