  1. We did not have evening turndown service on Meraviglia in November. Our stateroom attendant left the next day "schedule" either at our door or on the bed. He asked us at the beginning of the cruise if we would prefer morning or evening service. We chose morning. We did not have do not disturb on....
  2. I had a runny nose last year sometime after a cruise. I only tested myself because my daughter-in-law was pregnant. I was positive so stayed away from her until I was negative. About 5 days. I otherwise was able to do my normal morning run right through this experience and live pretty much as usual. If it was not for her, I would not have tested myself. It was my only experience with Covid and my husband and I did everything we were "allowed" to throughout .... went to restaurants the day they re-opened, etc. Happy and healthy cruising, all.
  3. Pirate ship (galleon) right where you enter CoCo Cay. Splashaway Bay area with slides etc. Pools, sea, most food, etc. Enjoy!
  4. Yes, I recall experiencing it on Carnival Horizon in 2019. Enjoy, all.
  5. Agree that one option is South Beach .... facing the water, walk way to the left. Pretty quiet there and helps if you get there early or stay late (people tend to get back on the ship early). This is a photo probably an hour before we were supposed to be back on the ship...
  6. Are you doing the Feb 2 and Feb 11 cruises? I see you started two threads, so I assume so.... Thanks.
  7. @Tree_skier Everyone will have a lot of advice for you about visiting NYC. Take it into consideration, however also do whatever you think you will enjoy!
  8. @bonsai3s Jersey Boys was on Anthem and was outstanding, but was not a show in the Broadway sense, but rather a singing show / performance. Ryan Molloy, British actor, was extremely entertaining. Not sure if that is what you were thinking of.... The Broadway type show we enjoyed the most on a Royal ship was Saturday Night Fever. I don't know if it was just our luck as to the specific performers on board (Liberty) at the time, but the dancing in particular was fantastic. Most other Broadway-type shows on the ships have not held our interest.
  9. It may be apparent to you, but for my time (anytime / your time) dining, you must purchase the Aurea level of experience.
  10. Ours was assigned about 2 months or a little more prior to sailing. No email as mentioned above. Best wishes.
  11. You will forgive me that I hate this expression. You don't have OCD. You might have an obsessive personality or planning proclivity, but anyone that knows anyone that truly suffers from OCD knows there is nothing in what you have that is really like the anxiety disorder. Enjoy your cruise!
  12. We have noticed on several cruise lines that they are frequently not offering coffee/tea after dinner unless you deliberately bring it up. We had once/day room service on Meraviglia. We chose morning. The attendant did enter our room every evening to leave the "compass/daily/whatever it's called" for the next day. We enjoyed the cruise very much. The ship was beautiful and the live music excellent. On the negative side, we found the buffet linearly designed and disorganized. Happy cruising, all.
  13. I agree with you @firefly333 and hope you feel better soon and can go on the cruise. My husband and I have sailed mostly Royal, but have tried NCL, Carnival, and recently MSC. We will be on Venezia next month. All the lines have positive elements and some things that could be better, but we always enjoy cruising. One thing we get on Royal that I agree with you is hard to sacrifice is the free loyalty drinks starting at Royal's Diamond level. Happy cruising to all.
  14. We did not have to on a recent Aurea experience. Just showed up and checked in at front desk. They will also take a reservation .... not sure if necessary on some ships. We were on Meraviglia.
  15. There is no longer any charge for the messaging within the Royal app.
  16. Can you do the check-in on the Carnival app or only online in browser? Thanks.
  17. Hi @maggieq Enjoy it! We have been to NYC a bunch of times during/since Covid and have survived without incident. 😉🙂
  18. We did not find the sound level bad. We were on second level to side of stage. Have a great time. He still puts on quite a show.
  19. Ha, I think the "moss" effect is also caused by the confetti. We have no problem with big crowds. As you know from my previous posts, we love Kenny Chesney and are happy to see him in any venue! Part of the fun of his concerts is the crowd and the tailgating. Understand, however, that you can only do what you are comfortable with...
  20. Happy 2024, everyone. We went to the Billy Joel concert at the UBS Arena, New York Photo taken at midnight. Concert was great.
  21. I don't know for sure @firefly333 but reason OP might be considering Venezia is perhaps it is local for them. (We have only done Carnival once before, but we are in NY/NJ area and the ship looks nice, it is going in our case to at least one port we have not been to before and one we have been to only once, and it is an easy drive from home).
  22. We have been on Oasis more than once and the last time was with our son and 3 of his kids ages 6, 4, 2. They loved it. Pools, slides/play areas, kids club, carousel, etc. My husband and I will be on Venezia in February and perhaps can comment better then. We have heard pools / pool areas are small. We like to try different ships and cruise lines, and were interested once we saw this ship was leaving from NYC. But this has nothing to do with what might appeal to kids...
