  1. Safe travels tomorrow @dani negreanu And hope all goes well with the tests Enjoy Rome ! And hope to see you soon BTW we got our upgrade, I'll let you know the new room number We're are now on deck 12 right under the Solarium so hope it's not noisy but will be handy for our fav breakfast in the Aqua Cafe in the Solarium
  2. Thanks Dani, I remember seeing this list on the Celebrity site but didn't know how to find it again Some good books there, I've made a note of some of them . Need to get back into the habit of reading again
  3. Thank you Nancy, Oh where to begin Some of my more recent reads have been Philip Gwynne Jones, mystery books set in Venice Julie Quinn Bridgeton series Phillipa Ashley L J Ross Tom Bradbury , MI6 series Elizabeth Edmondson mystery series set just after the war I've spent some time researching today and downloaded three or four books so that should keep me going Now to do some searching for a couple of audio books .....
  4. It's a bit of a saga.... Italy changed testing from two days to one to two to one and back to two again over a couple of months !!! I really wanted to test in UK so if it was positive we didn't have to deal with Italian quarantine rules. I also didn't want to do the Internet supervised tests (though there's lots of info about how easy they are). Consequently I changed our flights three times, from 0700 on the Sunday to 1630 on Sunday, back to 0700 and then back to 1630 so I could test in UK. Even though its now two days before, we've left our flights at 1630 on Sunday and getting tested at Lloyds Pharmacy in my local Sainsburys at 10am . We've done this before, you book online, they give you a printed negative letter within 15 min of the test. We're booked into The Hilton at Rome FCO Airport, its walking distance from the terminal, and booked a car to take us to the port 0930 on Monday morning I'm a bit worried about all the flight cancellations going on at the minute so fingers crossed it all goes OK as we don't have a lot of wiggle room now Think the next round of changes to Italys protocols is mid June so hopefully things may get easier by September for you
  5. I would book it before it disappears. You can always cancel and get the money back. The discounted first night at any of Beyonds speciality restaurants has never been there for our cruise next week and for the last month or so neither has the 3 to 5 night packages. IMO the prices are very high but seems a lot of people are prepared to pay full price for them that they don't need to offer deals
  6. The're quite nice roasted in a cauliflower veggie dish I make
  7. Can anyone suggest some books to download for our holiday. I use to read a lot but lately not so much. Too much Web surfing!! Anyway I usually like murder mysteries or historic or romantic novels (or a mixture ) Any ideas please ?πŸ™ πŸ™‚
  8. For our cruise on Monday from Civitavecchia we have had almost daily emails from Celebrity for a couple of weeks now saying testing is two days before.
  9. We saw our grandson a week ago and he had a bad cold. He had covid about two months ago so pretty sure it was a cold. I also get Omicron in Feb so hoping I still have some immunity, my NHS certificate of Recovery is good till the 22nd Aug. Today the third day for me, I'll test again on Sat and on Sunday we have the supervised test for the cruise, fingers crossed 🀞 all will be OK It definitely feels like a cold, I checked symptoms of covid and out of seven symptoms the only one I've got is a runny nose. No temperature or taste or smell issues or fatigue.
  10. Not sure how accurate it is but on the app for Beyond it says masks required in the theater and casino
  11. Just bought a box of KN95. Masks on public transport is still mandatory in Italy where I'm going at the weekend.
  12. As I said sitting almost in each others laps in the MDR when half of its empty is a bit stupid. Why not space the tables out a bit. It would make for a more comfortable dinning experience if I don't have to shout to my half deaf husband over the chatter of all the tables just inches away
  13. Yeap, not wanting to get political but train drivers and particularly underground drivers are very well paid and have very good holiday entitlement but have very strong unions so πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ She could try National Express coaches. They are good modern coaches and central London to Exeter should take around 4 hours
  14. Fine if you don't need a negative test to fly home and also if cruise is less than 7 days. The longer you are on board the more chance of catching it and being quarantined in your cabin. Personally with the cruise ships now at full capacity I would be happy to see masks in the theatres and anywhere there's close contact for more than 20 mins. For instance, space the dinning tables out a bit
  15. Trying to catch up I've skim read last few pages so I hope I haven't missed anything important. OB , you're little Russia kitten is adorable, so very pretty 😍 @John&LaLa hope you have a fab cruise. I really miss Royal Caribbean. Our last cruise on her was Sept 2019
  16. Thanks Debbie, I'm excited to meet Dani and her talented DH. I must admit we haven't been isolating as much as we should and now I have picked up a cold from our grandson. Hoping it will be better by Monday and we pass our covid test on Sunday πŸ™
  17. This made the news over here too, crazy prices. Talking about crazy prices our petrol is heading towards Β£2 a litre. Glad we don't have to commute to Heathrow every day now
  18. I'm a bit of a worrier too and dont sleep well. Our little one year old grandson has developed multiple allergies. Mainly dairy and eggs but some others too. Hopefully he will grow out of them. He gets special milk from the Dr's but mum is also occasionally still feeding so she has gone Vegan (she was vegetarian anyway) When we were round there last week he had some cooked peas and immediately started itching his neck and face and lips swelled. Worrying for them and us. It seems to be a fairly modern thing, I don’t remember anyone having any allergies (apart from pollen) when we were growing up Looking forward to hearing all about the reveal πŸ˜€
  19. Sorry to hear you're having problems with your hand, but two weeks isn't long to wait and hopefully this will sort out the problem
  20. This is Slimming World low fat recipe for Carbonara. I would probably add some garlic and maybe low fat creme fraiche
