  1. On your cruise what was the dress code for dining? Are folks able to wear the sweaters and jeans they wore out in port?
  2. We sail 9/16 with a land tour starting 9/11 we got our medallions on 8/29. If you ordered thru the app which is the only way I know how to order you will be sent an email stating they have shipped and then if you go into the app to where you ordered it you can click on order history and it will allow you to track the shipment.

It was mayhem that day in LA...but again luckily at that time you could still print the original paper boarding pass and we were able to jump ahead and go thru security and jump on the ship. while others kept repeating their names and trying to find them on the sheets of paper....I do still print out our final paid in full receipt from ta/princess and our travel summary as a just in case.
  4. Thanks I do remember having to show it on one of our cruises but can't remember which one it was. I know one their scanners broke down and this was when you could still print the boarding pass off the site so I did that and we sailed past folks trying to find their names printed in small writing on lists the workers had. The next 2 one was out of LA one out of FLL...I remember having to use the phone on one but not the other but can't remember which one it was and I thought I could see both...but after awhile it all starts to blur...

Hey all I have used the app before and I could have sworn last year when our boarding pass/QR code was available I was able to swipe back and forth to show mine and DH...I just got the one for our upcoming cruise and I can only see mine. Does that mean we both will have to have the app open on our phones to board? DH tends to set things down and walk away from them and also doesn't have the app on his phone...anyone who recently boarded can you let me know if we have to show both or do they just need to scan one and both can be checked in?

Everyone is different and not all food that can be ordered is hot..also my dh doesn't like his food too hot an usually waits for it to cool down even at home....oh and you are not even guaranteed HOT food eating in MDR or at slice or buffet as that stuff sits there for awhile so how about answering the original posters question vs passing judgment on how people like their food 🤔
  8. On another thread someone posted a pic of their phone showing that if you clicked to use Ocean Now in the app it warned you of the $15 fee and you had to hit accept. So if you don't use that then you will not be charged. Both charges only happen if you don't have one of the newer packages that includes it. Some have reported only 1 in their party activating the app and ordering all the food to their room as delivery is free to the room via the ocean now....hope i made that make sense.
  9. 1000% agree. Our suite has been put off since 2020 finally we are getting to be in it and we can't wait. Cant wait for that aft view as we got an aft facing suite on the Grand. Love that view.

Good to know...I was going off the suite pdf that listed all the amenities where it showed the extended MDR menu but that was date back in 2022...but this does show it in live time...so we will have this as backup. We don't normally get a suite this was a special occasion and we scrimped and saved for it and budgeted the heck out of it...granted $5 is not alot but it will add up if we did several meals each day in there to take advantage of the cabin and then of course the glacier views.

  12. Well that is a bummer...sure hope they change the suite benefits or find a way to add the mdr menu to the app so suites can order it there. Although before I posted I did go an look at the suite benefit pdf and it doesn't say "free"...just states that the suite get the extended room service menu by being able to order from the MDR menu...so we will see what happens when we board in September and are planned for either paying or not...

  14. I was thinking about it...but didn't want it to become the p*ss*ng thread the others were...once on board and I can confirm what happens I will for sure post one about our experience. We have the plus but bought I believe before the december price increase so who knows what will really happen once on board as the app states we have all the new goodies..
  15. So can you order the MDR food for the suite off the app? That would be great..I had heard it was only by calling in? Wait nevermind I think I read your post wrong..you were most likely talking about just ordering normal room service and other food/drinks...
  16. Thank you for the suite info. That is good as we were thinking of doing the same..only activating one ON feature and ordering our food or drinks for the both of us through the app. This year and next are cooler cruises so it would be teas and hot chocolates for the drinks if we were cozied up somewhere and didn't want to get up..haha.
  17. @Cruise Raider question...so you paid for just one of you to sign on to the ON but when you order the food are you ordering for just one of you or both of you? Also if able are you able to ask anyone about the suite benefit of ordering MDR to their room...I was told this was only done via phone...does that mean we will be charged the $5 fee?
  18. ok thanks. I will also try to report back on here after our trip. We booked a suite with the pkg but it was before the $60 so will see if we get charged the $5 fee to have MDR food delivered for dinner as we had planned on doing that a couple of nights during the glaciers and we have some long day excursions so figured we would just do food in the room so we dont have to change etc.

Hmm thanks... our cruise in September has been booted around since 2020 so of course the initial cruise was booked like 2018, but then covid came knocking and our Alaska land tour has jumped all around. I know we have booked and rebooked and re-fared so I have lost track of which Plus we got...but the app shows all the features but the travel summary does not. I hope that they do go by the app as that shows we have all the bells and whistles ...we were mostly interested in the room service, Alfredos and ocean now as we have a suite and had planned on eating on the balcony especially during glacier days and on the formal nights ordering to our cabin...so far no one has been able to confirm even if we are not grandfathered in will the suites still be charged the fee to order the MDR food that is said to be a suite benefit.?? We have a plan B if we have the lesser Plus pkg but would prefer to have what we actually booked and paid for..but like you say time will tell and we will just keep our fingers crossed...

I was told by a princess rep FWIW that the app is where I was to find what type of pkg we purchased and what will be honored on the cruise....well for this September we bought at the older Plus price yet it lists all the new Plus goodies, then on our shorter cruise next year we didn't book a pkg and it shows we have the newer Plus pkg goodies....but then I got the email stating our September cruise had the older package and if we wanted to upgrade click here...did it just for fun to see the pricing...NO WHERE to click upgrade once the link takes me to the personalizer...they really need to get their business in order just so inconsistent. ...sigh

  23. can you also share if you have to pay the $5 rs fee being in a suite you get the extended menu as part of the perk and so far no one has been able to confirm if suites will still have to pay that $5 fee despite it being part of the perks to have a suite...we are in one this September...
  24. Have they confirmed that with the new changes if you order MDR to the suite that you will be charged the $5 or do you have one of the pkgs?
