  1. Roof top level of the domestic short-term garage. No idea where for the International Terminal.
  2. An extra supply of Rx incase you have a delay in your last major leg getting home. Ship can't dock, flight delay, car broke down or accident, whatever. Enough to get yourself an emergency supply from a pharmacy.
  3. Airport to the city is about 15 miles or about a 20 minute drive until you hit traffic either on the highway, street or both. Hotels/Motels in the city are in the $200+ a night range, cheaper accommodations will be by the airport in Millbrae, Burlingame, or South San Francisco (Oyster Point area). Look around at West Coast Departures forum for recommendations: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/
  4. Also in your policy documents is a "how to file a claim" insert. Online or a phone call will get the process going.

    Tipping in Japan

Local Hong Kongers, if they're generous, will "round up" the restaurant bill if paying cash. Otherwise they don't tip. As a foreigner, particularly American, you're almost expected to tip them, but you don't have to. If you are aware of the exchange rate it's okay to tip in USD, HKrs have no problem with money exchange. Use credit card or local cash (lots of ATMS) for purchases.
  6. I think if there are any issues it would be security outside of the US. My old story of being In Hong Kong, we left Kid's epi-pen in the backpack and after it went through the x-ray machine, MIB jumpsuits/berets and submachine guns came out of no where. When it was revealed that it was an epi-pen (with Drs note) and not a weapon of mass destruction, the "Lt" waived everyone off, gave Kid a pat on the head, and gave the x-ray tech a "seriously" and "we'll talk later" look before he left. Later this year or next, we'll try it again but with my bag of needles and insulin.
  7. Especially when the container is the size of a 7 oz can of soda and the pills are baby aspirin๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Long term: see a doctor, get tested for sleep apnea...which may require you to use a CPAP.
  9. MIL has a US green card and was required to have her Chinese passport in possession for our cruise to Mexico (round trip from LA/San Pedro).
  10. We had a couple of Selectrics, I ended up with the ORATOR font. TRS-80 here. I worked at RS, spent a lot of my paychecks getting one.
  11. Lookee.... https://www.indiainnewyork.gov.in/pages?id=WEEvaENpL3VyK3BxTER3cTFYYVJqUT09&subid=VFZTZWc0c1IvNnZTVnpNYk9reVNnUT09&nextid=bk8xMVNSZDB0Q2VpbEhwZVZsUStMQT09
  12. Applied for Kid's third passport at the post office yesterday (1/19) in the afternoon. Clerk said it'll go out later in the evening and the passport people will get it Monday or Tuesday.
  13. Suggestions for places that locals go to eat around Oahu?
  14. While not specifically for cruising, it may be worth the hassle to get the boys a passport. Opportunities may arise that they may have some international travel in the future. Like I just found out that Kid's high school has a European exchange student program for this coming summer, all paid for except the airfare and his million word essay๐Ÿ˜Ž. Application (passport info required) due end of March and of course we let his passport expire during lockdown. Now in the process of getting him a new one.
  15. If your situation was more serious with a hefty bill, the adjuster would probably would want an itemized billing including what was diagnosed, treatment, and inventory of meds/supplies provided.
  16. Before the "give-back" a lot of HongKongers immigrated to that area. SWMBO who is Chinese says the food is about as authentic as you can get without going to HK. Have a great trip!
  17. About a 6 minute walk on typical sidewalk surface to the casino and station. Hampton Inn is our go to when we do road trips, so to us it's fine. Ask for a north facing room or one that's away from the street. Not only are they quieter you can also see the planes on final to YVR. No. 3 Road will take you to Aberdeen Centre (mostly Asian shopping mall and dining). 15 minute walk or Skytrain from Bridgeport towards Aberdeen Station.
  18. Or take the Sky Train to River Rock Casio and stay there, it's right across the street from each other and IRC has a bridge way.
  19. Hampton Inn YVR, Richmond; had shuttle pre-covid, check directly if they still run it. Walkable to/from River Rock Casino and Bridgeport Sky Train station. Depending on what you're looking for it's in an industrial area, but the Sky Train will take you to the cruise terminal one way or the airport the other way.
  20. Welcome to Cruise Critic. You might find your answer by going to the forum for NCL; https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/64-norwegian-cruise-line/ Your question will be best answered by calling NCL directly as they're the ones who will have to make the arrangements for this to happen.
  21. OP. Depends, but be prepared to pay up front. My uncle had a heart attack, eventually passed away 3 nights later. The hospital would not release him to the mortician until the bill was paid in full, cash only. Eventually they accepted a wire transfer from the US. A friend of the family got sick and was unable to return to the US for several months. Since he was there for a long time, the travel insurance company eventually was able to make direct payments to the medical providers. If you used the medical facilities on board the ship, they'll charge your on board account. It will be settled along with your other charges; you deal with the insurance company when you get home. If you can't settle your bill, they'll most likely make you sign a promissory note. In any and all cases be sure to save those bills and if possible your medical file too. Insurance adjusters love to see those bills. Don't know about records retention requirements in other countries, but it's a good bet in some places a week after you leave and the $$ clears, your records will be stored in a circular file.
  22. My Dad would have me run out to 7-11 before housekeeping comes in and restock whatever I could get ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. I would also think it's one less thing housekeeping needs to check & clean.
  24. While at sea, she'll need to sign up for wi-fi using the ship's system. Note there's a big difference between using wi-fi and mobile data as one will cost $$ if used unknowingly. Please research the difference and plan accordingly.
