  1. Was just checking some details on the Westerdam for a future cruise. I noticed where they list the restaurants has the Tamarind. Typical HAL website mistake?
  2. We had a hotel in NY refuse. They said their insurance did not allow them to do it.
  3. I suggest you call the hotel and ask if they will hold your luggage while you go to the city. They are accustomed to that situation. They might even have a room for you!
  4. I did a "dummy" booking on Premier Airport , they quoted $237 from downtown to Pier 91. We will take a cab! It was $135. from airport to downtown.
  5. It is my experience when sailing this itinerary a passport is necessary. Check with HAL!
  6. Thank you SO much for this thread. You have given me the courage to go again on my own! DH is now in a nursing home so I have now one trip booked for next year and in the process of booking another for 2024. Have a safe trip home, hope you continue to heal rapidly. Barbara
  7. We visited back when you had to pull yourself across the river in a hand cart, then a school bus took you into town! It has changed a lot since then. Visited the mine and had a great hamburger at a very small bar. One of my greatest memories of Alaska. Thanks for this link.
  8. Know how to use the coffee maker but have been unable to find the pods. Would like to pack my own! Anyone know where to fin them?
  9. We toured with Dora. Loved the tour and Dora is great. Book early if you decide to go with her, tours sell out quick.
  10. Thanks, have stayed with the brand just not this particular hotel. Don't need the breakfast, will find something!
  11. Ditto! I do the air or my TA will take care of that chore.
  12. Would like to change our "usual" hotel in Seattle. Has anyone stayed at The Maxwell? Thank you.
  13. I would suggest you use your cell phone and take a picture of what you are putting in the laundry bag, also the order sheet after you complete it. When your laundry is returned check it against the picture. Some times things get mixed up and either you will get a piece of someone else's laundry or they will get yours. They do a great job with the laundry!
  14. We have done quite a bit of hiking in Alaska and especially in Denali. Best advice came from a ranger at Denali. He told us to make plenty of noise, do NOT carry food, and tell someone where you are going. Previous poster is right, the moose are what you need to watch, they are dangerous and will attack without warning! Have done a lot of singing while hiking.
  15. Highly recommend Jayleen's! Great people and tour is worth every penny
  16. Thanks chief for the words of "sanity".
  17. We find these very heavy and difficult to use. Don't think the magnification is wonderful, but don't know exactly what it is. We always bring our own. Well worth using the extra space in the suitcase!
