Thanks all for the good wishes. Staying busy and remembering all the cruises and travel we did. DH loved to travel and we went lots of lovely places. I read this thread every day just don't post often, fee like I know all of you!

We spent five days at Glacier Bay Lodge a few years ago. Some nights it was hard to go to bed, a lot to see! It is worth every minute for me to go to bed earlier than usual just to see and hear birds and animals in the morning.
To be very clear, one of the people traveling with me was a 13 year old girl and the other is handicapped. It would have been difficult to manage if they had not been able to board with us. The both were first-time cruisers.
Having been to Alaska quite a few times, both land and sea, rj59 has given you great advice. Alaska is unpredictable, especially the weather, and prepare for anything in one day.
We started with a Carnival cruise in 1973, then cruised RCCL, Monarch, Cunard, Oceania and HAL. Even with ALZ, DH told me not to stop cruising and enjoy every minute. I am working on that with two cruises booked!
Sorry, I don't remember the actual price just that it was more than I like to pay. But, I was SO glad we did it as it was worth every penny. We were very close to the glacier and spent a lot of time on the water.
We were at Hubbard last year. Only excursion available is a catamaran that leaves from the ship and takes you very close to the glacier. If you can get on the waitlist, it is very worth the cost.
I will also be taking my First solo cruise this year. Traveled for years by myself when younger and the world seemed safer. (Or maybe I was too young and innocent!)
Now I know this is what DH would want me to do. My love of ships and seeing everything I can will help!
