  1. I'm here to come along with you! My imaginary bags are all packed and ready to go. 😉
  2. How do we know that Princess employee is right? How many times has wrong info been given? People who book suites will have to wait to see what happens in the real world.
  3. I thought the new policy began August 12 and not the 2nd.
  4. Don't know the answer but the new stuff announced today doesn't start til August 12 so their personalizer will only show what is offered now not the future.
  5. Just found this thread. Thanks for taking us along! Even though it was hot and a long day, did you like Williamsburg? I thought of you today and, not exactly sure of the dates of your cruise, I wondered if you were going to have to go to Williamsburg in today or tomorrow's 95+ degree temps. Maybe you had it a little cooler at 90! Enjoy Boston. It is a great city.
  6. @donaldsc Wow! I read it a few months ago and don't even remember a bridge being mentioned. Glad you cleared it up so anyone reading this has correct info.
  7. @hallasm Thanks! If we check a bag it will be checked through to final destination in Athens. So if I understand correctly I will only have to go through passport control at CPH. I think our layover is 2 1/2 hours. Hopefully that is plenty of time.
  8. @CruiserBruce They do ask for flight info but they also ask for you to pick a time for pick up. Seems a little contradictory.
  9. @Zach1213 Thanks. I checked and it is one ticket number.
  10. Thanks. I am on SAS and then SAS but operated by SAS Connect. Booked through cruise line. Does that matter? How much time after landing should I tell driver to meet us in Athens? We hope to have just carry on but could end up checking one bag.
  11. Flying non stop from USA to Copenhagen. Change of planes and then on to Athens. Where will I clear customs? If cleared in Copenhagen will I have to go through passport control or anything in Athens? Just trying to figure out what time to have our driver pick us up in Athens. Thanks.
  12. Not sure which tour you didn't see much. The landslide took place, I think, in 2021. We were there in 2019 and did Tundra Wilderness. We did see animals although not as many as I had hoped. The animals come and go as they please! If you do the On Your Own you can still get tours. I believe the National Park Service has a bus that goes into Denali too although don't know how it compares.
  13. Thank you for your observations. Hope you had a great cruise! Food on ships vary. As much as any company wants to have things the same no matter where the "restaurant" is located it does vary based on the people working there. One ship could have great food but a year later it is not as great because the people working there (or the head chef) has changed. If you could not get any pink in any beef (assuming you asked for it that way) then I would think the people working there either overcook it or it has been sitting a while before it is brought to you and has continued "cooking". Either way, as soon as there is a big turnover in people it will all change.
  14. In general, On Your Own has no excursions whereas Denali Explorer does. You can upgrade to the Tundra Wilderness Tour by telling your TA or calling Princess. Right now that tour is shorter than usual because of a landslide. I think I read that sometime next year it should be all cleared up. When googling I saw that someone said Denali Explorer includes train travel as opposed to all buses on On Your Own.
  15. I don't understand the colors. Blue Anchorage? Yellow Fairbanks? I would pick an itinerary that included Denali Lodge for two nights and upgrade from the Natural history tour to the Tundra Wilderness tour (goes further into the park). With two nights you will have a full day . If you only have one night you travel to get there, have a few hours, stay overnight, next morning have a little bit of time and then you leave. Not as good and tiring.
  16. Our return flight home is at 6:05 am so will need to go to the airport in the middle of the night (ugh!). Our hotel said they could call a taxi or we could prebook with Taxi VIP Barcelona. Has anyone used them? Their website doesn't list much in the way of transfer services but more geared toward tours and corporate events etc. Our hotel is near Las Ramblas near the Cathedral. How much does it cost to go to the airport? Thanks.
  17. Outside the US you have to pay because they don't accept your insurance. Have credit cards with high limits. Princess Platinum is enough if your medical costs are less than $20,000. If more than no. Most people, including me, advise to get 3rd party insurance. There is a forum here that deals strictly with travel insurance. I suggest you read it. Also, I would call Trip Insurance Store. They are great. There is currently a Q&A with the owner. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/2648-qa-cruise-insurance-with-steve-dasseos-of-the-tripinsurancestorecom-summer-2023/
  18. We will be staying at the Athens Gate starting August 30. The email we received from them back in March says from 44 Euros. Says it includes taxes and gratuity. When I go through the steps the cost is 52 Euros and says it includes taxes and fees. It is through welcome pickups. If you go through their site it is 54 Euros so the hotel gives a little discount. I have not booked anything yet but I think we might go with Athensairport.taxi. They are 45 Euros. Front page of their website says 38 Euros from airport to central Athens. Not sure why prices change. We are only two people.
  19. I didn't totally think it through but I meant why bother with the Princess rep. Either book online and go through the steps to transfer or if the next day when they speak with their TA if things didn't change then they could cancel the hold and book with the TA.
