  1. We’ve just received a dinner invite with the 2nd in command to Prime C. We prefer dining alone and later than the invite. What I’d like to know, would we be rude to graciously decline the invite? Thank you for any helpful advice.
  2. And I also want to add that internet is great! Far different than the trans Atlantic in November.
  3. We boarded Onward yesterday. There appears no shortage of Fever Tree (in cabin), for those who prefer it. I asked our butler for Schweppes and he brought 2 bottles yesterday and said they were still unpacking stores and he would bring more today. We just got back from a massage and this was in our cabin. (I’m not sure what they’re serving at the bars as I haven’t ordered a tonic.) Club soda in our cabin is Canada Dry.
  4. Thanks to this thread, I just looked and I was able to check-in for our Feb. 28 cruise. However, our Mar. 11 cruise shows unavailable for check-in. The site states that check-in will be available Jan. 25, but today is Jan. 26 and it is not available. Soon, I expect.
  5. We were on Onward in June and the “butler” wasn’t the best. Same cabin and ship in November and had an awesome butler. We don’t require much from a butler, but he took care of our vodka, limes and Fever Tree tonic requests! Fever Tree and Schweppes were not to be found in the bars, but he kept our cabin stocked. 😀 He had a totally different personality from the “butler” we had in June.
  6. I’m so sorry to hear the problems you’re having as we really enjoyed the Onward. We were on for 11 nights in June and just disembarked after the 11 night trans Atlantic. We are also booked for 18 nights in March. That’s 40 nights on the Onward and the same cabin each time. We were lucky and like the cabin (it was a guarantee in June, but we specifically booked that cabin for the other cruises). I wouldn’t have been happy with a broken drawer either.
  7. I’m on the Onward right now. Yes, the crew is doing a lot of prep for arriving in the U.S. I’ve been told there we be more inspections as it is the first time arriving in the U.S. By the way, so far an excellent cruise! We had to take a southerly route and will miss Bermuda. Stopping at Nassau. We’ll stay on board that day. The weather has been very warm with lots of sunshine. Very relaxing with only 286 pax. There were supposed to be 288, but 2 no shows. That information came directly from Tony. Internet has of course been terrible, but I expected that. Seems better today.
  8. I don’t know. We booked in July and our new TA was able to transfer it in October. She also booked a new cruise for us (leaving tomorrow). Sorry, I don’t know the details. I hated giving up control of my booking, but so far, so good. I didn’t have to worry about my final payments a few weeks ago. The new agent seems on top of it.
  9. No, I always booked direct with Azamara, but recently decided to try a travel agent. She contacted Azamara and transferred our 2 cruises for March.
  10. We did a private tour in June. It was perfect and our guide took us to exactly what we wanted and no shops. I’m in Lisbon now, waiting to board Onward on Sunday, but let me know if you want his contact info and I can look it up when we get home. He was excellent.

  12. DS, I think I have noticed that you have been cruising nonstop since we had the hurricane! 🙂 We are looking forward to doing nothing. We were on Onward this summer, nonstop ports every day. Loved it, but we were exhausted. Then we did a 3 week “road trip” in France in Sept. Got home the day before the hurricane and had a very busy day getting ready for the hurricane. We live one mile from Bonita Beach….devastation. We were fortunate with little damage and no electricity for only 3 days. The other day, we were able to go onto Ft. Myers Beach to see our former home…or what was left of it. I just wanted to cry. Anyway, it’s been a hectic month since the hurricane and we are looking forward to a no brainer holiday. We just booked this yesterday. Got the same cabin that we had this summer and we will have it again for 18 days in March.
  13. Not sure if this will be the same for you, but I booked on the ship, but later the price dropped. I re-booked and lost a small part of the OBC, but not all of it. But, as with you, the cruise ended up significantly lower.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Yes, Lisbon to Miami. We're in SW Florida and accustomed to hot temps, so I will probably find the crossing to be chilly.
  15. Hello, We just booked our first trans-Atlantic. November, this year. After the last 3 VERY port intensive cruises, we look forward to doing pretty much nothing. But, I’m just curious, during the day…what clothing will I need? I’m kind of thinking capri leggings with tunics, casual wear. Not sure how warm (or cool) to expect. I know, it could be either or, but hate too pack too much Also, am I correct in thinking that there will be no White Night and also NO Azamazing/Destination evening? Thank you.
  16. Thank you. I emailed travelinsurestore and still not clear after reply. I am hoping for a more clear answer
  17. So sorry. I do get it. We have a small travel delay claim from our June cruise and it’s still pending. This was with a policy I purchased from insure my trip. I’ve decided as long as we have medical and evacuation, those are the important things. The Chase coverage will be a crap shoot if needed. After lots of reading and a phone call today, we’re leaning toward the Geoblue coverage for medical.
  18. Hello, I am looking at buying an annual travel medical policy. When checking into Geo Blue Trekker, I was told that if we are taken to one of their providers, we would incur no out of pocket costs (within the limits of the policy) and if we taken to an out of network, we would only pay the deductible. Does anyone know if this is correct? We have the ability to pay and be reimbursed, but this would obviously be much better. Just doesn't sound right to me. Can anyway confirm this or explain to me? I'm totally confused by insurance and have a fear that I mis-understand what to expect. Thank you so much for help.
  19. Yes, I just copied what I read above, but knew it was MedJet. Also, I referred to Travel Insurance Store above, but it is Trip Insurance Store.
  20. Thank you. I"m looking into the Geo Blue. And will also look into the NetJet...good idea of having some control on evacuation options. Yes, we have decided that we will self insure for the cancellation portion above what Chase might cover.
  21. Oh, ok, thanks. I was looking at Travel Guard, but now after reading lots of posts on the Cruise Critic Insurance forum, I'm going to call the Travel Insurance Store as it was highly recommended. (But, how I wish that I could somehow get a travel agent recommendation! 😄-I'm serious!)
  22. Right, I don’t thinkI can post which one. I’m looking at a few places.
  23. Thank you. Good to know. We don’t have medical issues, but I sure tend to worry more now than only a few years ago!
  24. Thank you. We decided to get an extra medical policy.
