  1. Thank you. I’m not too concerned about the delay/interruption for the last day in Madrid, but more concerned about medical. We used miles for Flagship First, so won’t be upgrading. We’ll pay our hotel with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, so I think that will give a little protection. We have decided to purchase an annual medical travel policy. I think that’s our best option. Especially since we have several trips planned in the next year.
  2. We also always dine in the specialty restaurants, usually at 8:00, but a few times we requested 7:30. It was never a problem, nor did they make us feel awkward. So sorry you had this experience.
  3. Thank you. Yes, it is helpful. I was concerned about the amount of medical coverage. How about the trip cancellation/delay portion. What are your thoughts on that?
  4. Hello. I need advice and information regarding the travel and medical benefits included with Chase Sapphire Reserve. I've been researching on the Chase website as well as speaking with them on the phone. I'm still confused and not sure exactly what my benefits are. On our last year Galapagos cruise and this year, June Azamara cruise and our Sept. France land travel, I bought travel medical insurance, but if we have coverage with the Chase Sapphire Reserve I don't necessarily want to buy something we don't need. Specifically, we booked the Feb. 28 trans-Atlantic and staying on for the next cruise. I booked direct with Azamara and paid with the Chase Sapphire Reserve. We will drive to the Miami port on Feb. 28, take the B2B cruise and disembark on Mar. 18 at Gran Canaria. The same day, we are taking a flight to Madrid, staying overnight and flying back to FL on Mar. 19. I did not use the Chase card for the flights. My questions: (Hope I don't sound stupid, but I just don't understand our coverage. I have spent hours researching and only get more confused.) Are we covered for medical from the day we leave home until the day we return? Under "evacuation", the benefits state that the trip must be booked through a travel agency, however, I booked direct with Azamara. When I called Chase, they said we would be covered, but I'm not feeling confident. Any thoughts on this? Anyone know how or if a medical evacuation can happen on a trans-Atlantic? For trip cancellation, are we covered for the entire trip even though I only used the Chase card for the cruise? All this being said, we traveled for years without giving these things much thought, but now, kind of at the age where it could be a concern. Thank you so much for any helpful knowledge specific to coverage with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
  5. We dine in a specialty restaurant (our normal dining time of 8), then join the party late for a dance or two.
  6. Yes, we also made a stop there in June.
  7. We were on Onward for 11 nights this summer. We alternated between Aqualina and Prime C. We booked the first day for the whole cruise for 8:00 pm (We’re Americans, but that’s our preferred dining time. I don’t think all Americans are early diners. But, I did think Brits dined early. Just shows you can’t assume.) It was never a problem. If we showed up early, we ordered a drink at the bar and sometimes, they seated us early. One evening, they were very busy, but we knew all the staff and they knew we were perfectly happy to wait while having a drink. We just go with the flow.
  8. Just an update from Bonita Springs, FL. We are feeling very fortunate. We got our electricity back in 3 days. Only a half mile away, not so fortunate. We went to our boat house, half mile away toward the beach and boats were everywhere. They had a 10 foot surge in the office. The neighborhood behind had a lot of flooding and some lost everything. We used to own a home on Ft. Myers Beach and I saw satelite images yesterday. Our old house was standing, but house 2 doors away was gone. I heard the houses in that neighborhood had 7-8 of water inside. The damage got worse moving north on the island. Thank you for all the thoughts.
  9. We’re in Bonita Springs, Fl, just north of Naples. We are one mile to the beach. The very worst is past, but the wind is still howling and strong. Earlier, we had a gutter come off and it went flying somewhere. The street is filled with horticulture debris. Our electricity has been off for 7 hours now and most likely will be out for several days, hopefully not longer. However, there is still a concern for rising water. Only a half mile away, cars are floating down the street. Still very worried here.
  10. I'm not sure. Most people on this board say that you should show up at allotted time. We only had around 300 passengers so maybe that's why they gave us an open time. We had booked a CC suite, so maybe that's the reason. I don't know. As it turned out, we arrived at 12:45 (we had a private driver from Bologna). There were others already there. They checked our bags right in and we went inside to check in. Then they seated us in a "holding area", suite passengers on one side, everyone else on the other. After a short wait, they boarded the suite passengers first. All very organized and not too long of a wait.
  11. I agree that it probably depends on port. We sailed in June from Ravenna and were given an open time from 1pm-4pm.
  12. Have a wonderful time on the Flora. We were on last September. An amazing cruise and destination.
  13. We were on the Onward last month. On the last full day, we were having lunch at the Patio. We struck up a conversation with 2 ladies at the next table (sisters, in their 70s). They asked us to join them to finish our drinks. We had very enjoyable conversation. Turns out, they had been isolated and it was their first day out. They remained in their cabin (with balcony) and said they were well looked after.
  14. Our last cruise was in a CC suite and we had a refrigerator. We asked them to remove soft drinks and only stock club soda. They simply moved the soft drinks out of the fridge, but left them lined up in the cabinet beside the fridge. The cruise before, we booked late and had an oceanview cabin and the same thing happened. They moved the soft drinks to the side of the fridge. Not sure why they didn't just remove them from the cabin, but we've had the same thing happen twice, so apparently that's the way they handle it. In both CC suite and oceanview cabin, we had a mini fridge.
  15. We disembarked June 29 and booked two more cruises (B2B) for next year. I was told the FCC should show up in late Aug and could be applied to my bookings.
  16. Last month, we had a PCR on Wednesday. We flew on Thursday, arrived Europe on Friday, boarded ship on Sat. No problem. You should be good to go.
  17. She was in Prime C on the cruise that returned on June 29.
  18. I did not have to hold down a switch. Usually, I let my hair air dry, but was running late one night this week and used the dryer.
  19. Kymberly is awesome. She is on the Onward right now. Until Sep. 29, but she told us she may extend a month.
  20. I haven’t noticed that anything has changed here. Personally, we are not mask wearers, but certainly will comply to any rules. We’re having a wonderful time. Just sailed away from Koper. Weather has been perfect.
  21. Same here on the Onward. Not sure I’ve even seen one mask on the ship. In Ravenna, we were not allowed on the shuttle without masks because Italian police required it. Captain announced yesterday that part of Deck 4 is closed due to the area being used for isolation for positive Covid cases. He indicated that it was crew.
  22. Today, we arrived at Ravenna port around 12:45. There were lots of baggage porters at that time and it appeared luggage was dropped before ours. Not sure what time they actually start.
  23. Just arrived at Ravenna port. Very quick and efficient. We dropped luggage, went through security and check in, all within 15-20 minutes. Now in waiting area to board ship.
  24. On our way. Refreshed and relaxed. Driver was ready and waiting for us when we came downstairs.
  25. Thanks again. My husband just booked a driver with hotel reception. So, all sorted. Just want to arrive tomorrow relaxed after the past couple of days.
