  1. From the Cunard website- "To celebrate 100 years of our first round the world voyage, we are partnering with British photographer and filmmaker Mary McCartney to curate a special centennial ‘Sea Views’ exhibition, featuring never before seen imagery from the Cunard archives, together with a selection of photos submitted by our guests of past journeys over the decades. The new exhibition launching in 2023 will capture the very essence of life on board Cunard’s fleet of ships from the 1920s to the present day, showcasing the changing styles from fashion to food, interior design to activities and telling the story of our guests who have voyaged with us. With previous guests including Hollywood icons like Audrey Hepburn and Bing Crosby, we will open up our archives to select never before seen photographs to reveal the glamour and grandeur for which Cunard is renowned. In addition to the archives, we are calling on past and present guests, along with anyone connected to Cunard, to delve into their old photo albums, search out holiday scrapbooks and flick through their phones to find special moments they’ve captured when travelling on board, and submit them for a chance to be included in the centennial ‘Sea Views’ exhibition. To enter, simply send a digital photo of your memory and email to cunardphotography@cunard.co.uk along with your name, age, the ship the image was captured on, the date it was taken and a short description of the photograph and contact details by 5 February 2023. You will be notified if your image is selected to appear in the centennial ‘Sea Views’ exhibition by 17 February 2023." https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/inspiration/sea-views Good luck if anyone enters. How about posting your own favourite photograph here ?
  2. I look forward to hearing how you enjoy Ventura, she was our first and last P&O experience!
  3. Thanks for confirming, it looks like something was lost in translation on the Dutch website posted earlier.
  4. It's called the Carinthia Lounge on QM2 now.
  5. There are light snacks and platters served in the Chart Room on Queen Victoria. They are included in the fare.
  6. The letter was dated 23rd - Embarkation Day and refers to an earlier announcement. It's possible that was made before departure.
  7. I think in the UK these fares are referred to as Cunard (for the more expensive version) and Early Saver. If you don't mind someone else choosing your cabin location and dining time then Smart will be fine. We've booked Saver fares some of the time.
  8. Is there any update from those on board? Was there noise last night/today? Is work progressing to plan? I hope you enjoyed your day in Cadiz.
  9. In that case I would take ear plugs .....
  10. I can't see anything in the English translation of the article you have posted that shows the repair was booked a considerable time in advance, where have you seen that ? The article specifically mentions an urgent call.
  11. Welcome to cruising and Cruise Critic. If you really want to change I would try and do it before you leave.
  12. I've had regular notifications of a port change before sailing, there has never been an option to cancel. Insurance may pay out if you have missed port coverage.
  13. Thanks for the first hand updates and enjoy your evening in Cadiz on or off the ship.
  14. @bluemarble might have access to the current sailing but the 2023 shows this, which means that the ship sails early on the 1st not that you get 2 days there. For overnight stays with 2 full days it would show departing afternoon or early evening on the 1st.
  15. I think the ships usually sail from Maderia once the fireworks are finished on the 31st. What does your itinerary say ? If it was early morning on 1st you didn't lose any time there.
  16. They often do sail on the same day but Queen Elizabeth is sailing down under at the moment so not available for a World Cruise. I was on Queen Mary 2 for the visit to the Mersey with her sisters. It was a very special day as part of 175th Anniversary celebrations.
  17. I was wondering if they will be working 24 hours, I guess we'll find out in the morning! If I had an aft cabin I might be tempted to book a hotel or an Airbnb in Cadiz for a couple of nights.
  18. It's the last day of my holiday today so we went out for lunch again. It was a lovely day and the restaurant was very busy. One table had 4 adults and 5 children who were running riot and generally being ignored by their parents. There were another couple of tables with very well behaved children. At one point the Father on one of the other tables said very loudly "Children should be seen and not heard". It didn't have any effect but it amused me!
  19. My remit is to ensure that posts comply with Cruise Critic guidelines, all opinions are my own, there is no spin in any direction.
  20. It's possible It's worsened during the Christmas cruise and I can understand Cunard wanting it resolved before the World Cruise. As for being illegal our resident expert mentioned concerns with insurance but didn't mention that it was illegal. It's not the first time it's happened in Cadiz for example. Welcome to Cruise Critic @Flick21 , I hope you come back and tell us what experience is like.
