  1. No, nothing similar. if you want something active you could perhaps look at Bacalar lagoon excursions.
  2. Photos would help. Could be any one of dozens of places.
  3. +1 Agree although I haven’t been since bought out by Barcelo. I am surprised day passes don’t get more exposure on CC but at least it keeps them quieter. Also agree it is a long walk and not for people with mobility problems.
  4. It is confusing to future readers to discuss Cozumel on the COSTA MAYA board - BUT to prevent further confusion just FYI, Fury Catamaran goes to a private beach club NOT ISLAND. It is along the same stretch of beach that OP has already stated they don’t like. I suppose the advantage would be they wouldn’t be there long and would have other activities.
  5. There is only one long beach - either in town (along the malecon) or out of town beyond the malecon. It is not a “ nice” sandy beach and depending on season can have a severe sargassum problem. In town beach bars are one after the other along the malecon - best to have the name of some recommended ones from reviews on CC in mind as unfortunately some are renowned for overcharging. Out of town many will recommend Maya Chan (AI), Hayhu, Almaplena or Hotel Luna but you need to book. In town we used to favor Malecon21 pre-covid but had service issues when we went earl last year. Since you already have two AI booked I would be inclined to play it by ear on the day depending on the weather and how you feel but we only do AI occasionally on cruise ship days. We have enough to eat and drink on the ship and you never know how the weather will be in February so we don’t like to be “tied” to a booking. In the past we wouldn't stay in the port because it is expensive compared to town but with the inflated taxi fares and beach club prices since cruising resumed to Costa Maya, we have been very disappointed and are much more likely to stay around the port for a short time and eat on the ship on some visits. Costa Maya is the man-made port, Mahahual is the old village rebuilt after total devastation by major hurricane in 2007(?), but it is rural not modern.

  7. The same suggestions and questions as above apply but the big additional question would be which pier in Cozumel?
  8. I like to be prepared and avoid unnecessary hassle. In case of emergencies there is quite enough that you HAVE to reorganize - accommodation, flights etc. I don’t need to have to arrange emergency prescription refills in addition. It has been useful more than once but return flights from UK canceled due to volcanic ash over Iceland comes to mind as one incident. Travel isn’t t easy but some problems can be averted.
  9. Do you mean El Fuerte? If so, the beach club is Miramao affiliated with the hotel and there have been reviews recently if you use the search engine
  10. There are actually several more suggestions than that in the two threads but more specifically you still don’t indicate if you are looking for something active, relaxing, cultural/mayan experiences, food oriented, drink oriented? Something for a couple of hours near the port, something for all day? Tours with a private driver can be customized to your requirements but you have to indicate what they are. Cozumel is an island and the vast majority of activities revolve around the water- diving, snorkeling, snuba, helmet diving, paddle boards, jet skis, parasailing, pearl farm, fishing. There are land activities too but without knowing your mobility and a little more about what you are looking for it is hard to make suggestions.

    Cabana Beach?

I didn’t think food and drinks, except perhaps fruit plate was included anymore and need to be purchased extra?
  12. OK sorry, lots of suggestions there that are not AI beach days which was what you asked for. Perhaps you could be more specific as to the type of activity you are looking for?
  13. There is a thread immediately before your wuestion with suggestions. also from previous thread

Have you tried Google maps? There appear to be a couple north of the square and one in Chedraui. None at the pier, depends where you are heading. ETA Norwegian usually docks in town at Punta Langosta.
  15. The golf course on the island closed.
  16. We must have been in the same sailing! We have had that happen also! To the OP, @SuperPlannernot sure whether you are trying to arrange a private driver or what exactly you need to schedule? Opening times in Cozumel are obviously listed as local time (EST year round). Drivers and tour operators are aware what relative time ships arrive. Keep a mechanical watch on ship time, or don't let smart phone/watch auto update.
  17. Possibly but was certainly useful when stuck overseas on a couple of occasions. Could I have managed without? - sure, but it saved me the hassle of having to deal with securing further supplies. As I clearly stated, depends on your comfort level and where your travels taKe you. My supplies remain replenished in my travel bag.YMMV. I don’t consider 2 weeks overkill and if I am taking a bottle with 2 weeks supply not difficult to put 4 weeks in there.
  18. Is this for a US cruise? I always carry an extra 2 weeks at least and generally a month, depends on your comfort level.
  19. NP, I understand that. I was just intrigued as I have never done a group booking direct - I thought that was only for private groups where you booked 8 (?) or more cabins, which may have been relevant if the OP had cancelled a cabin, as they were considering. I have only done group bookings through a TA where it was a refundable deposit as posted earlier, so I was just trying to understand the situation.
  20. OK, then I don’t understand the group part, or why they need a special number but you seem to have offered a solution.
  21. Not physically unless that is very recently. Maybe in terms of being recommended on CC, although it always had its followers even when Topicante was alive. However despite its surge in popularity it isn’t really a similar experience to Tropicante. As @crewsweepersays KL has expanded widthwise along the malecon and occupies a lot of real estate. It is busy but service is good, facilities not so much but that is true of many places along the mslecon. Malecon21 is quieter with good facilities and food, unfortunately service was lacking on our last visit. Hopefully they have got their act together again now that Mahahual is busy again.
  22. Is this a private group of multiple cabins for your party booked directly with Royal Caribbean where you get perks, or is it a group booking through a TA? You said you booked NRD then moved into a group? Or did you just “link” a few cabins? It is difficult to understand your definition of group. If this is with a TA you need to call TA. Also your final payment date maybe earlier through a TA than with Royal.
  23. Was that your first visit to Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan? I was surprised to read your thoughts on Costa Maya. What did you do in Roatan? I thought the horse snd carts had been banned in Cozumel?
