  1. Do we think the terminal will be ready in time? Looks like it had a long way to go in May when I saw it and it looked much smaller than I expected
  2. Thanks, thats a more accurate chart regarding time frame - did you compile the chart yourself? it is good for determining what ships are there at a given time and you can determine itineraries from there.
  3. That’s been the price since cruising resumed. I agree it is an overcharge but lots of ongoing threads - try the end of this one please report back on Blue Kay -recent reviews haven’t been too good. Could you let us know if they are still offering PAYG. Thanks!
  4. Yes! I see it for when she returns to Galveston too. Perhaps things are looking up. Let us know how it goes.
  5. I don’t know what you can see. The only one I see says updated 12/02/21 lots of changes since then. I was on the Adventure repositioning.
  6. Not sure what to tell you - unless it has been removed - it was certainly there for our visits in March 2020, and March 2022! Perhaps it is not available presently due to the upcoming renovations? It is not advertised and I don’t know why the FAQ have never been updated but try this from the owners blog http://box5202.temp.domains/~mayachan/taking-the-plunge/ I have been several since the early days and there was no pool initially. David is the son (co-owner?), who takes care of the day to day operations.
  7. That isn't up to date for Royal Caribbean and doesn’t detail itinerary. No idea about the other cruiselines.
  8. This IS Maya Chan that the OP asked about in the first place - and it does have a pool just not advertised. It has been there several years, not sure when you went last.
  9. I have had the 6oz with a wedge or spinach salad and find it more than enough. My husband has enjoyed the ribeye and the strip. The rack of lamb was very good and I enjoyed the shrimp with salad but THAT was a small serving!
  10. Go to a third party website and choose sailings from Galveston on Royal Caribbean. You will see all available ships and sailings in one go. As has been stated be careful of the year.
  11. Not sure how long ago you were there - it is clearly listed on the App.
  12. The reef is what keeps the bay shallow, calm and protected. It is quite a way out from most of the bay and too far for most people to walk or swim to which is why a boat is usually recommended. @mitsugirly has been a fan of Blue Kay in the past, which is the beach club furthest down and fairly close to the lighthouse and has several old snorkeling reviews on her blog. However cheerleaders of Blue Kay do not give favorable reports since cruising resumed. I think Mahahual is in a rebuilding phase and hopefully will recover but we have also been disappointed in our go-to location and are currently seeking pastures new.
  13. How is it an extra request? It used to be left routinely and people like us never used it so it was a waste of time and ice. Much better to be left only for the people that want it.
  14. Thanks for your review. Unfortunately this excursion has never received stellar reviews as I stated earlier. However I think Costa Maya will take some time to regroup so choices are limited at the moment.
  15. Yes, that is correct. Quinto sole is next to the old snr frogs although I didn’t realize they were the actual owners of the property. I confirmed the location with shore excursions when I was on the Adventure in May. Have you been now and were you able to use the hotel facilities as well? At one point they also had an affiliation with Blue Kay which is next door again but who actually owns what and what is sub-let becomes a rather grey area!
  16. Nachi Cocom is fine and will always have its fan club but the OP doesn’t want AI and wants to eat in town. Since they will probably dock at Langosta (not 100% guaranteed) eating in town and a beach is doable. They just have to decide how much “sand” they actually require. since it is possibly their only a visit to Cozumel, a taxi driver for the day could solve many of their problems regarding timing and let them sample different areas and the more local restaurants but they may not want an “on-the-go” day and may just want to settle in one place for a couple of hours.
  17. Again, as stated above Maya Chan has chosen to be closed in August and will not be available to OP.
  18. Is John still around? We were on his last Empress sailings pre-shut down?
  19. Would that be Grandeur in particular, or Vision class in general?
  20. Plain and simple there isn’t always availability. Pre-covid early dining was always more popular than late in the US. Can you make a fuss - sure. You can probably get late set dining but most people want mid-dining or at least flexible, which is why they choose MTD in the first place. Their second choice would probably be early set dining, (unless in Europe). It is only since cruising resumed that MTD has become a problem. If someone was willing to change to late set dining then it is probably a non-issue because MTD isn’t a problem for those willing to dine later. ironically the only sailing I booked really late (pre-Covid) and was unable to get MTD, I was awarded early dining for some inexplicable reason, and despite visits to Head Waiter on Day 1 I was told no alternatives were available - not MTD (first choice), not late dining (second choice). It was a 5-night sailing and like OP and I chose specialty dining and buffet instead.r
  21. Hotels in Mahahual tend to be small independent locations not large chain-type hotels with facilities. Most hotels and beach clubs are shoulder-to-shoulder along the length of the malecon along the same beach. Also the beach clubs again are not developed clubs like Cozumel but mostly small individual locations with chairs/loungers on one side of the road and bars/kitchens on the other with beach service. Reading the first page of this forum you will see the names of most places people have returned to since cruising resumed. You can check them out in TripAdvisor for photos and further reviews. Many have websites and often offer PAYG or AI. We also prefer PAYG although unfortunately many of the locations in Mahahual have moved towards the model of AI. Sometimes we don’t want to stay at the same location all day and like to “sample” but we always make purchases proportional to the length of time we occupy a lounger/table and use facilities. No matter which bar you decide to stop at the facilities like snorkeling, diving, bikes fishing, massages will be available from third-party vendors
  22. or just book direct. It has been an online problem for a long time that’s why people book TBA. I remember this same discussion years ago.
