  1. I look forward to seeing your photos, and reading about your slot machine adventures.
  2. Yeah, many years ago when my wife and I were hiking out of the Haleakala crater we saw several of them.
  3. Thank you for sharing your experience and I understand where you are coming from since the ship was sailing so empty. If you had been upgraded, you might not have been awarded the +2 points/night bump that you were seeking anyway (that's true with getting upgraded through MoveUp).
  4. @cruisestitch, I recall you had some photos that you posted in the past couple of months?
  5. The fog then summers in the San Francisco Bay area.
  6. I've not seen this problem. I long have you had this problem?
  7. Celebrity is forcing us to cruise to earn their loyalty points.
  8. So we can come over and stay if we get fogged in?
  9. Webinar is a little under 40 min in length.
  10. They still have them and you can reserve them through your Cruise Planner (listed under "Dining"):
  11. We have been in the S-class Family Veranda cabins (aka Ultra Deluxe Balcony) six times so far. Those cabins have two windows facing the front of the ship similar in design to the Prime Oceanview cabins adjacent to them. I did not consider the windows to be too high but that is a matter of opinion. I have posted a couple of photos (one with a chair next to it) to let you decide. The sharp angle of the windows will cause you to accidentally bump your head on occasion until you get trained on how close to the window you can stand. 12. W O W ! ! I know that COVID kept you guys separated, but it looks like you have really made up for it in a really big way. I am very happy of all of you. Sailing the Whitsundays sounds like an awesome immersive experience--and maybe the only real way to see them--and it has me drooling just thinking about it (except I don't know how to sail). Your pictures look terrific. I am sure you will be doing this again, but I wonder where. I had friends at work that did something like this in the British Virgin Islands and they had a great time. Who in your group had the sailing skills? When does your daughter get married and which continent will it be occurring? David
  13. You do not need to vacate your room before breakfast, so you can leave your luggage in your cabin and go eat breakfast. But as hcat posted, if you have not done self walk off before, you will be surprised how many passengers will be lining up with you to get off as part of the self walk off crowd, so it is worth showing up a little early.
  14. Even though it was published a while a go, it is good to know that some one still finds it useful. So thank you for saying that. I presume that you also found the Photo Review that I posted later--there are a couple of links to it in this thread, but in case you missed it, I have reposted it below. I found it very challenging to plan our GBR cruise, so I wrote the Photo Review with that in mind. It was an awesome trip and I know you will have a terrific time.
  15. We have been sailed 8107 and 8108 (S class) quite a lot and have not found the motion to be that bad--and I get seasick very easily. But, yes, a lot will depend on the seas. Those outside cabins have quite a lot of space!
  16. Good and useful information. It's ironic that you are posting your answer on the exact day 43 years ago that the old Sunshine Skyway Bridge was infamously hit by a freighter during bad weather causing many fatalities. Tampa Bay Times article.
  17. I have 3 cruises booked that I still do not allow you to make specialty dining reservations. This includes one coming up this Dec. I used a modified form of your shorex hack to determine that specialty dining reservations could be made on the sailings before and after my Dec cruise. It doesn't solve the problem, but at least I know that it is just something with my particular sailing. Your little spreadsheet tool now makes that simpler. Nice.
  18. Yes, I also found it to be a "1st Guest Sails for Double Fare" promotion.
  19. Nerd/geek question: were the tender operations for your Lahaina stop all conducted on the starboard side or were they also running on the port side (for the times that you saw it, of course)?
  20. Wow. Was your cabin the only one affected (hot water)?
  21. Back in 2005, we boarded Horizon which was sailing out of Tampa. The fog rolled in and our 4pm departure was delayed and we did not sail out until 9am the following morning. Grand Cayman got cut out of our itinerary as a result. So, yes, there have been issues with fog. This past Nov, we sailed into Tampa on Constellation with zero problems. We caught our same day flight without delay. That's what I probably will do next time.
  22. Very nice! You should change your screen name to "Gamble and Sail".
