  1. About 40 mins each way. Nice ride though. Some years back we were on Getaway TA from Copenhagen to Miami and the ship stopped in Bermuda for an overnight. The first day a friend of ours met us off ship and we took our dirty laundry, duty-free booze and shopping home and then had lunch in Hamilton in our fave pizza place, then took the ferry back to Dockyard. Then the next day we took the first NCL ferry to St. George's, but didn't get off and rode the empty ferry back 🙂. Our son at the time was working as deck hand on the NCL ferry so we chatted with him. Spent the afternoon by the pool. Stayed on ship to continue the cruise to Miami.
  2. Looks like the Exclusive one is an U tour - small group touring. How many of you are in the party? We used Rome in Limo - excellent.
  3. BUT, we'd go on any of these last 4 ships if the itinerary takes preference over the ship itself. We like the BA, GA and Escape because of the Waterfront.
  4. Throw in both the Star and Dawn to the list. No forward observation lounges (they were removed in favour of Family Suites (which are indeed very nice). Their Spinnaker (now called Bliss Ultra lounge) is on deck 7 aft - dark with no windows! These two are our least favorite ships, except for the Family Suites.
  5. Yeah, that also counts us out! We have been on several TAs and prefer the southern ones.
  6. The Prima is doing a TA from BCN on Nov 20 … We’ll see …. 🤓
  7. We booked the Viva TA (16-27 Nov 2023, 11 days from Lisbon to New York) back in September. And now this cruise has disappeared from NCL.com - I saw it last week but it disappeared around mid-last week. mmmmm .... wonder why ..... maybe they're changing the itinerary???
  8. Last cruise I upgraded mine to unlimited but my DH didn’t..
  9. It can be any mug shot type of photo, no matter if it’s an old, bad, as long it’s a mug shot. When you get to port and check in they will take a photo of you to link it to your cruise card.
  10. Call NCL and cancel the cruise, they should give you a link to go to AON where you can print out forms, etc. One of them is for the doctor to complete. Then, send all completed forms off to claim. When you cancel the cruise NCL will refund all except the base fares and insurance. We cancelled a cruise a week before sailing in July 2019 when I developed severe medical condition, and we were able to claim all except insurance and what NCL refunded. Sorry to hear about your wife’s accident, hope she’s as comfortable as can be and continues to recover well.
  11. Suggest that you delay your trip to Portugal so you can stay until the cruise and be able to visit Spanish ports on cruise? Too risky as you might be denied boarding.
  12. According to CruiseMapper it looked like POA docked at Hilo yesterday (as well as the day before) instead of Kona. Kona is a tender port … windy? High waves? Also the volcano Mauna Loa is erupting ….
  13. You realize you will be embarking the ship in Colon, rather than the Panama City proper? Hope NCL offers bus transfers from Pamana City to Colon on the day of the cruise. Please let me know as we would rather do Pamana on smaller ships thru the old locks.
  14. The BIG hot tub in the Spice H2O (aft) on the Joy do have bubbles - you press some buttons on side of tub. March 2022. Also I went into a hot tub with bubbles on the Star. July 2022.
  15. Prolly not. They were gone on the Jewel.
  16. Both .... the crew aboard during dry dock would be the ones assisting the workers, then cleaning up, and getting the ship ready.
  17. We both typed at the same time! As for photos to upload, any photo will do as long as are "mug shot" type (like passport photo) .... read: any photo even bad/old ones. When you all get to the check-in at port they will take photos of each of you to attach to the cruise cards.
  18. Yes, @TrumpyNoris quite correct, however, the best you can do is check the box for CASH. We have been doing this for the last several cruises as our CCs are non-USA, and for some reason The NCL online check-ins do not seem to like them. Once we get to the port we hand over our CCs for them to link to our onboard accounts.
  19. Gem is the last of the 4 sisters to receive major refurbishment ... Jewel in late 2018 (we were on her post-refurb, and ship looked so nice), Jade this year & Pearl last year (I think). Big bit of the refurbishment is changing the bathtub to shower in the Club Balcony Suites. The late 1990's decor (red and a bit garish) all gone. Gem at present is still in Marseille, has about a week to go before she gets out to someplace to get lots of provisions for her transatlantic crossing from Barcelona on Dec 8th. It'll be like a new ship!
  20. D@mn! Several posters here have indeed intrigued me ... we're booked on two B2B on Spirit next May - Vancouver-Seward-Vancouver, and am contemplating on changing it to Seward-Vancouver-Seward. I'm asking @chengkp75 if it is possible for us to do that ... some years back I saw somewhere on this CC that B2B Sew-Van-Sew is not allowed due to something like PSVA. If others have the knowledge, please feel free to post. TIA.
  21. In July 2019 I had to cancel our cruise a week before the sail date due to a severe medical condition. We had NCL insurance. Upon cancelling the cruise NCL refunded all taxes, grats, pre-paid DSCs, excursions, and the insurance refunded the cruise fare.
