  1. I know it is true for my girlfriend who has had her pending one cruise broken up to two cruises, with one day less. I can check the number of days with her if you wish
  2. On my long cruise from Sydney to Perth, they didn't open duty free nor start any activities. After my first part world cruises to London, it turned me off cruising for thirty years. My story is about duty free also. In London wind caused two planes on the tarmac to crash in to each other. Their international flights were cancelled. All passengers had to return their duty free purchases to the duty free shop - what a nightmare1
  3. I'm sure it will be on future itineraries once Auths and cruise lines have Covid worked out.
  4. Thought blues would win to make the final a competition However, I didn't want them to win by so much!
  5. Love to hear of family footie final traditions. My friend had her five grandchildren sleep over.
  6. What a lovely surprise. Welcome back. As you can see you were missed. Hope your cruise to NZ on Grand in November comes off. Is it over 8 days. Bon Voyage. My friend's Princess cruise, which was booked as one, but was available as two cruises, has had its itinerary lessened by one day minus Newcastle,.
  7. There are so many remote places in Australia cruise lines could visit. I hope they are checking these places out for future cruises. Once the novelty of cruising again wears out the majority of cruisers won't want to do short cruises nor cruise south in winter.
  8. Is there a big screen on board? Will the State of Origin be shown tonight? How are the numbers the blues vs the maroons? Who do you think will win?
  9. I agree Port Douglas Four Mile Beach is a beautiful beach to walk along. The Daintree Rainforest, part of the Wet Tropics Rainforest of Qld., is beautiful, well worth a visit.
  10. Thank you I didn't know such a tour existed from Airlie Beach. Looks like a great day tour. We did a similar memorable trip years ago at the Daintree with crocodiles everywhere.
  11. What was your Airlie Beach excursion? We used to holiday in a holiday house at Airlie Beach. It is nice to have the ship to yourself too when people go on excursions. Hopefully some proactive people will soon offer day trips from the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal for turnaround passengers.
  12. Could be because many people have already cruised on the popular Qld. cruise. Conflict Island, PNQ is unique and not offered often,
  13. We have returned to attending the theatre, with 100% occupancy, wearing a mask. We also limit the time of the show, trying to minimise the risk. No travel and no theatre is too much for so long.
  14. Having a full on cruise programme might entice newcomers to cruising to cruise again. Are you enjoying your B2B2B cruising? Have you left the ship?
  15. You can be lucky with the weather. I did a cruise from Cairns to Darwin in Feb/March this year during the cyclone season and had perfect sunny weather, with smooth seas. Whilst down south in Eastern States the rain poured with local flooding!
  16. Well done. I often find putting a request in writing works best. I haven't the patience to wait forever on the phone.
  17. I thought it was in the USA, but I didn't want to state that unless I was sure. My memory isn't what it used to be for detail.
  18. Surely the aim is to stop the spread of Covid. 3% cap on infections per cruise is just a method to try to help control number of positive cases.
  19. I seem to recall reading that b2b cruises weren't allowed somewhere early on.
  20. Also flights are more expensive in Australia now, if you cannot get special prices. I recently cancelled a planned trip to Adelaide because of the high cost of air fares. Yet the GC was full of people from Adelaide recently who must have bought inexpensive tickets to escape the cold.
  21. If the cruise line knows now of their future plans re length of cruises, they should advise their passengers now, so they can rearrange their plans. Often cruises involve flight and accommodation bookings.
