  1. As I stated above (63), there is an article in the Brisbane Times about the covid outbreak on Coral Princess. The tone was the same. Maybe they could share with the public what the protocols are.
  2. Yes I did think it would be good for passengers who can't fly.
  3. There are articles in the Brisbane Times and Courier Mail about covid outbreak on Coral Princess.
  4. Yes I am familiar with those options on around mainland Australia cruises. I did one myself staying on a ship after Sydney to Brisbane as part of a world cruise. However four days cruising the Tasman Sea for a day in Sydney didn't seem appealing to me.
  5. So is the idea for some NZ passengers to disembark in Sydney, whilst other passengers embark in Sydney?
  6. I have friend on board who didn't mention this email. Their original cruise, south to Eden then north to Port Douglas, had already been split into two cruises, minus a stop at Newcastle.
  7. That is the silliest itinerary I have ever seen. Four days cruising across the ditch from NZ to Sydney and back, with only one day in Sydney with 4 pm early departure.
  8. Thank you. Sounds like it will be a wonderful highlight of your cruise! I often wondered why they didn't do more of these overnight land trips between ports.
  9. The attachment doesn't give information on the cruise excursions mentioned.
  10. Scheduled noon boarding today has been delayed until 1 pm. Could this be because of elevated number of positive case numbers amongst crew members?
  11. My dream was to cruise to London on an ocean liner. Lucky you, where did you cruise on QM2?
  12. Sorry you injured your back. Hope you feel better soon. I was looking forward to your comments on Coral Princess at Eden. First rule when you get older is get rid of the thongs and scuffs. Being a Queenslander, like you I've worn shorts and thongs all my life, but have observed too many simple accidents due to wearing thongs and scuffs.
  13. If you have scones with jam and cream in Devon and Cornwall, it is always with clotted cream. When I discovered you could buy little pots of clotted cream I was delighted.
  14. Good idea to have a day at Taronga Zoo, or zoo and walk to Balmoral Beach, or a harbour cruise to Manly with walk to The Spit or along the Esplanade (turn right). Nice activities to feel like you are in Australia, not cookie cutter somewhere else.
  15. Cruise in not until October, so I would suggest you pursue the matter and advise under no circumstances would you accept a cabin on the bow, because of motion sickness. There is plenty of time for the cruise line to find you a cabin similar to what you booked 18 months ago, even if they have to give you a real upgrade. Cruise lines have a duty of care to their passengers.
  16. I've done a few repositioning cruises also. The cost of Flights can be a problem flying into US out of Europe. But more affordable now with the availability of one way flights.
  17. Have a wonderful holiday on Norfolk Island. I hope your flight doesn't get cancelled.
  18. How did you find them? I found Eastern Europeans to be reserved, very different to the friendly crews seen on Australian ships.
  19. Like you, I'm destination driven. Cruising is the best way, and often the only way, to visit remote exotic islands. Good Luck with your PNG islands cruise.
  20. Depends how risk adverse you are. I think with pre-existing heath conditions, December 2023 might be a better option to consider My passions are travel and theatre. With 100% occupancy at the theatre, I was reluctant to return for longer shows, so returned gradually to shorter shows.
  21. Good deals used to be after final payment. I've never booked early.
  22. I did think of the Costa Concordia disaster and hoped the Government had strategies in place to handle if a passenger ship lost power in similar circumstances.
  23. This information is incorrect. Australia's borders are open to visitors. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au You can apply for an ETA on line on the Australian Government website.
