You were in a regular double balcony, not a suite. When I was on 7 recently the potato chips or peanuts came about 1/3 of the time and the truffles about 1/2 the time. I didn't want the potato chips and had a zip lock bag to bring the truffles home since when they did come there were 3 for 1 person! Patty

Beefbar dining concept announced for Crystals ships
Texas Tillie replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
I would go to Churrascaria and get a salad and baked potato (no meat at all), eat and leave. I thought it wasn't a bad idea for using the buffet area in the evening. Never understood why people had such strong, negative opinions. Really like Tastes and will be interested to see what dishes from that concept survive. Patty -
Only Enterprise has a location on the island. Therefore, the price. And just for those reading your post, $700 Canadian is about $516 US. You might investigate using Uber or taxi to get to the island and then get around the island and compare costs.

Often on sea days, first one near the start of the cruise, night 2 or 3, and one closer to the end of the cruise, but never the last night.

See all the posts above to my same question, just following along...........😄🤪🙃

Not only was she talking out of school, she had no idea what she was talking about. Wonder if she's still employed by Crystal?

I think it's most often that they are out of something needed for a specific recipe. Patty

Excuse me, I'd consider myself a long time Crystal customer, since 2007, with close to 50 cruises, have done 2 cruises with the new Crystal and have 2 more booked, and NONE are at a deep discount. I have paid whatever the posted fare was for the category I booked at the time I booked. Don't believe I'm the only one missing out based on the people I know. You are right that the money behind the relaunched Crystal is Manfredi. He got a BIG payout selling Silversea to Royal Caribbean.

World Cruise 2024 Segment Papeete to Auckland aboard Serenity
Texas Tillie replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
They crossed the International Date Line. Think they are about 19 hours ahead of us, give or take a time zone. Patty -
And what do all these anti-Crystal posts have to do with a thread entitled Silversea vs Seabourn on the Silversea board?
-
We all have to decide what works for us. I would not be a happy camper on a Princess ship for 14 days eating what they serve, putting up with the crowds, etc. Think you probably paid more than 30% of what Crystal charges when you add any drinks (alcoholic or not) and gratuities. But, as I said, if it works for you, great for you.

And then you will be totally baffled on how he got your wedding ring in a snapped coin purse inside his interior suit jacket pocket! 🤪
-
Im going to disagree with your statement that the entry level cabins are not on par with mass market lines. All of the entry level cabins were totally redone before the recent relaunch.

Neither do I. The new Crystal is a far better experience than Silversea. You know what they say about opinions! ☺️🙃😁

Anyone want to share their Explora experiences?
Texas Tillie replied to calliopecruiser's topic in Luxury Cruising
This board isn't all that popular, you'd probably get more responses on the Explora board. -
Emails from Crystal - are you receiving them ok?
Texas Tillie replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
Not getting anything at my regular email address that was always used by old Crystal. I've signed up several times with that address since the relaunch with no success. I signed up with an alternative address after the relaunch. Was getting things at that address, then stopped getting anything at that address, now getting things at that address for the past several days. Stopped being able to get into "My Account" on the website. Was able to get in again last weekend when using the alternate email address. Finally, have never gotten any snail mail from the relaunched Crystal. Patty -
There certainly was for the Jan 18 - Feb 3 segment, Rich Bloch, who used to introduce the show when Crystal had the relationship with the Magic Castle. He was great, as I've found all the magicians to be. Patty

I’ll be interested to see which Tastes dishes will survive. Time will tell. 😀 Patty -
World Cruise 2024 Segment Papeete to Auckland aboard Serenity
Texas Tillie replied to Stickman1990's topic in Crystal
Yes, the serving area is where it always was on Serenity. Not sure if the bar area was changed. Tables, chairs, wallpaper, sconces are all new. -
Try houstontranstar.org, that's the site with all the traffic info

No reservations for Tastes at lunch, but reservations at dinner, unless that's changed in the past few weeks. Patty

Just an FYI for anyone wanting to dine a a local restaurant, Willie G's is part of the Landry's conglomerate, a national chain. Go to enough Landry's various concepts and you'll find the food is more alike than different. And, yes, I know Landry's is owned by Tilman Fertitta, a Galveston native, but don't expect any of his locations on the island to be any different than the same ones any other place.

Then why do you bother to follow the Silversea board?

Realistic time for flights out of Houston
Texas Tillie replied to S.A.M.J.R.'s topic in Gulf Coast Departures
The odds are with you. The one fly in the ointment, Southwest has very few flights out of IAH, it's HOU where they predominate, and they do not put you on another carriers flight if there is an issue with their flight. -
Silversea merged their airline booking into Royal Caribbean. Since then they go for the cheapest possible and charge for any and all deviation including coming in earlier than day of sailing except for the very few sailings that still provide a hotel on Door to Door. All the cruise lines are looking for any place to cut costs, but Silversea seems to be out front with it.
