  1. The answer is, yes, except for high end wines and spirits available for purchase. It made me think, where is the answer on the website? I found the answer on this page https://crystalcruises.com/about. It might be in other places on the website. Patty
  2. And the duos are more and more the offering on the large mass market ships. Patty
  3. Based on what I've read, the ship has not been designed yet. That is just a "concept" drawing with the announcement. So, no one knows, but time will tell. Patty
  4. That was fake news. The casino will be where the bridge lounge is located.
  5. No, this thread is about much more than a bottle of wine. Its about giving an example of how the luxury experience once offered by Silversea has been seriously degraded.
  6. Let me get this straight, on Symphony the casino will be in the former bridge lounge and the bridge lounge will be in the location of the old casino. On Serenity the casino will be in the location of the bridge lounge and the bridge lounge will share space with the library. On the Serenity are they going to knock out the wall between the library and what was called the studio to combine the library and the bridge lounge? All to be revealed, I guess. Patty
  7. This is an old thread from last summer. Please consider reposting this on one of the threads about current cruises. Patty
  8. This is one of the river boats formerly sailing for Crystal Cruises before the old company went into bankruptcy. I sailed on the Crystal Bach which is identical to the Debussy. My understanding is the boat looks very similar to what it did under Crystal and Riverside is operating it to the same standards. The Bach was beautiful and the food was outstanding so you should be in for a treat.
  9. They should have filmed back in the day when good looking Dr. Rael was the ship's doctor! 😁 Patty
  10. I don't believe they said the 2026 itineraries are out yet. What they said that have been released are the 2024 and 2025 cruises that needed to have itineraries changed. Now, I believe they said the end of June for the 2026 itineraries and that is approaching, but it's not here yet. 😮 Patty
  11. We all have to decide where our priorities and pocketbook allign. I'm glad you are satisfied with what Silversea offers.
  12. Are you aware that many of the "small" cabins were combined and the guest capacity lowered when Manfredi (former Silversea owner) brought the ships out of bankruptcy? Yes, the ships are old and everything else on Crystal is superior to what is now being offered on Silversea - service, food, entertainment, enrichment, etc.
  13. Crystal website shows they were to arrive at San Diego at noon today for an overnight. Patty
  14. And there seem to be enough people who don't mind tying up their money way in advance, That alone would keep me away, but if you can get it, do it.
  15. Two minor additions to your excellent review, the Crystal fitness area is open 24/7, unlike most other lines. Also, there is an included sauna and steam shower to use in the fitness area. Patty
  16. Yes, and it is operated by Holland America, another line under the Carnival umbrella.
  17. Went back and checked if they were European where everything that is under 5 Euros, Pounds, etc. is coin and those coins are used commonly there. No, it's an American and those dollar coins are VERY difficult to use. 😮🙄😏
  18. So, what Vince posts is we have a part of the law that makes sense inside a law that makes absolutely no sense under current circumstances. This is the US government, why should we be surprised! 😮🙄😏 Patty
  19. Sorry to hear that the new cruises don't work for you. It's impossible for them to please everyone. With cruising these days, it's probably a case of booking later than earlier, as opposed to the old days. Patty
  20. Just an FYI to anyone "confused", the Crystal website still has some of the cancelled cruises listed. All the replacements are listed too. I'm sure it will be corrected, eventually!! All the cancelled cruises will have all cabin categories as waitlisted. Patty
  21. I was on the Nova last month. The ship is lovely. The buffet at breakfast and lunch had been substantially downgraded in number of offerings and the quality of what was offered from my Muse cruise in Dec, 2022. Other food was ok to marginal to what were they thinking. My butler was totally worthless, she never bothered to tell me how to contact her. Some crew members were helpful, others couldn't be bothered. It was not a luxury cruise.
  22. Just an FYI for those going to Denali this summer. There is a road being repaired, repairs to last all season, and the last I heard the tours get just 40something miles into the park. The 2 times I did it we went 62 and 64 miles.
  23. Always wonder if the service is the same for someone who is known to keep passing out tips vs those who take the cruise line at its word that gratuities are included?
