  1. I believe Beefbar is the name of a European chain that Crystal is partnering with on this venture. Believe the name vs the actual menu is going to cause much confusion. There is beef on the menu but also vegetarian/vegan items and everything in between. On the Facebook page someone has already asked about the new "steak house" on Crystal. Hope not many are too disappointed when they discover the new concept. Personally, I'm looking forward to it although I would have been just as happy for it to remain Tastes. Patty
  2. My problem, I thought the rule applied to the individual cruise, not a person on successive cruises. Had no idea the old law was even dumber than I thought!! I did a New York to Miami once but we went to Aruba and Curacao.
  3. Roy, since it's a B2B, I don't think a distant foreign port is required. It's US to Canada on the first segment and Canada to US on the second segment. As far as the law, each segment is lawful. Patty
  4. I was in an Accor Hotel, Fairmont, as an included hotel with Silversea and they wouldn't give me any credit for the room based on what Silversea had paid, but told me I would get credit for any meals, etc. that I would pay for on my own.
  5. Vistaman comes across as someone more comfortable in an upper crust pre World War II society that doesn't really exist anymore. That being said, as I first mentioned, since English is not his first language, it might be that he isn't expressing himself with words that convey how he really feels. My point is if you aren't happy with what you are offered with a specific line, it's time to move on. Life is too short.
  6. Aren't the included wines listed here just the ones usually available in the bars? There are others in the various dining venues, aren't there? Patty
  7. Like I said earlier, you need to spend your cruising money someplace that is more to your standards. Not every line can please everyone. Life is too short. Happy Cruising!
  8. I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes you want to see someplace where the fancy limousine can't drop you at the front door!! Patty
  9. I was told on Nova in May that when the current supply of Pommery is gone, it's gone for good.
  10. When you have over 7,000,000 people and everyone has a car........
  11. Perhaps it's a local law that they followed. (You live in Germany?) Or, perhaps there was a mistake made. I'd certainly inquire as to the reason. Patty
  12. Unless you have on board credit you need to use, why? I've never seen any cosmetics, perfume, etc. that I can't get for the same or often lower price at home. Patty
  13. Don't forget that the spa is a contract operation, not operated by Silversea. That being said, the unexpected price change is unacceptable.
  14. The preowned purses are now being sold on the "new" Crystal. Not the art. The operator is the same. Also true for the spa, called One Spa World, formerly Steiner.
  15. I think there are 2 reasons the "Crystal cheerleaders" "counter" you; you come from a European perspective that seems to be very "old school" and the majority of those who don;t agree with you come from the American perspective. Also, English isn't your first language and I think you sometimes use words that don't convey exactly what you really mean. Your point on the amount of money luxury cruiseing costs is very valid and I think it might be time for you to spend it places more to your personal liking.
  16. Just an FYI, the majority of all cruiseship spas are operated by One Spa World (formerly Steiner), a British company. So, if you weren't happy with Crystal's spa, it probably will be the same with many others.
  17. What do you think needs to be added or is in need of more space? I have no interest whatsoever in a gym, but why would I mind there being one for those who are interested?
  18. As has been posted on this forum several times, new Crystal knows the total of your previous cruises but has no information as to whether or not you used any milestone rewards. It is the same for every one of us, you aren't being singled out.
  19. Plan on leaving the ship near the beginning of disembarkation and getting on the first shuttle and 12:55 PM on a Saturday should be no problem. P.S. I believe you mean it's a nonstop flight. In airline parlance there is a difference between nonstop and direct. Don't worry, more people get it wrong than get it right. 😃
  20. No, last report I saw here was maybe November. Patty
  21. Is this new? Just while they are in France or other European countries too? Patty

    Osteria

Thanks for your input, Vince. A risotto needs to remain, just not one with translucent, gray crustations on top!! Patty P.S. I grew up on the Gulf coast knowing the difference between shrimp cooked just right and ones that taste like rubber bands! That's the problem with the ones on the buffet at Marketplace that have been both over cooked and frozen!!

    Osteria

And I would have no problem if another plated element had enought residual heat to actually cook the raw shrimp, but the time I ordered it, it didn't!! 😮 Patty

    Osteria

They were still translucent and gray, not a hint of pink. I was told the raw shrimp are placed on top of the risotto after it is cooked and the heat from the risotto "cooks" the shrimp. Wrong!!🙄 Patty

    Osteria

Reminds me of my experience at Osteria in January where a risotto dish was served with shrimp that was 80% still raw. I was told that was the way it was supposed to be. I made a pile of raw shrimp on the side of the plate and ate the risotto. I eat some raw seafood at Umi Uma, but not shrimp!!😏 Patty
