  1. If the above instructions don’t work for you…and sometimes they don’t…just go back to the main boards page, scroll down below Cruise Lines A-O and P-Z, and River Cruising, to the ROLL Calls. Click on Celebrity Roll Calls, then Beyond, and look for a thread with the dates for your sailing. EM
  2. Someone on one of the boards recently asked this, and it appears they are no longer available. EM
  3. I would think that an AirTag planted on him might work. As long as you have iPhones, there are many, many people onboard who have cellphones and many of those are iPhones and if you go into the app and ask it to locate him, it wouldn’t be long before someone with an iPhone passed him and posted a location. The problem would be if it locates precisely enough. Just telling you he is on the ship isn’t much help. It’s too bad Carnival hasn’t adopted the medallion/bracelet technology. On MSC ships that have it and the person is wearing a bracelet, you can go to any interactive screen and locate them. I think on Princess you can locate them in the app. Maybe @TxTeach79could chime in with an opinion. EM
  4. Price mistake? Current excursion is listed at $202.00. This is from August 14.
  5. There is a series Mighty Cruise Ships on Smithsonian channel, and one of the ships is Le Soleal. I think it must have been in season one (2017) because when I Google them I only get seasons 2-4 and she isnt there. It was a cruise in Indonesia. EM
  6. There were bagel shops in NYC mentioned in a couple of Live From threads on the Carnival board. Can’t remember if it was @IntrepidFromDCor @SaintGreg. National Geographic had an article on the origin of the bagel. EM
  7. Sometimes. I sail MSC and if you are looking last minute bookings, you might be out of luck. Further out by a few months might be good. I was able to book on Seashore in December in any cabin category. But I was experimenting with some Grand Voyages for next year and everything is available u til you reduce guest number to one. EM
  8. Aanndd…some of those suggestions involve quite a hefty budget. EM
  9. Find someone else to go with you. Maybe when he sees you want to go there that badly, he will relent. Remind him of the things he likes about cruising other than the ports. Do you have a ship/itinerary in mind? I will admit I love the Amazon, have been three times (only once on a cruise) but have no interest in the southern part of South America. EM
  10. Wonder what it’s like on Margaritaville at Sea tonight. EM
  11. This is the top of page 2 of your documents. They scan the code and give it back to you. Below that are pics of the kiosks where you register your credit card.
  12. Another option is the ‘ship within a ship’ concept. People on the MSC board love the Yacht Club, an area within a huge ship that has its own dining room, deck areas with pool, buffet, butlers. You need not leave the area unless you wish to go ashore or attend shows in other venues. EM
  13. Actually, the Deluxe Ocean. View started on Dream Class. We had one on Magic. EM
  14. I think it will stay business as usual. EM
  15. It’s possible it can be reused…but I don’t know if they will. The band has the ship and muster station on it. Last month on my B2B they just reprogrammed it for the second leg, but I was only moving four cabins away, so same muster station. Another question to ask on my next cruise…. EM
  16. You could look at Cunard QM2 out of NYC. 12 days to the eastern Caribbean leaving December 22. She’s big, but never feels crowded . Azamara Onwards Dec. 22 from Ft. Lauderdale. Seaboirn Quest from MIA19 December . Explora I Dec 22 MIA. Oceania Sirena Dec. 22 MIA. Crystal Serenity Dec. 23 MIA. Dec 22. HAL. Volendam San Diego. That’s about it from US ports. Is it cruisetimetables.com to search further afield. EM
  17. BY the time the start allowing people to debark all luggage has long been down on I95 waiting for it to be offloaded. The elevators will be crowded with those doing self debark with tons of luggage. Is he going to take all the luggage with him? Are you going to be able to manage some of it? Because once he has left the terminal to get the car, he won’t be allowed back in. You might have to get a porter to help. EM
  18. I don’t drink much alcohol at all, just don’t like the taste. I’ll get a Bloody Mary and ask for it weak and spicy. I had one glass of wine each on my last two cruises of 7 days. I also not being able to tolerate alcohol. I go through bouts of diverticulitis, when one of the antibiotics is metronidazole. You can’t drink with it. I have become so sensitive that I can’t use nasal spray, body lotions, lip balm, pickles…you just have to read the labels. Put some salve on a cold sore and I’m up puking at 5am. Heaven help me if I had to use Purell. Like many older cruisers, I came of age in the 60’s, after THE PILL, before herpes, hep B, HIV…I had a very traditional upbringing, and always wanted adventure. Be a bit eccentric. I think my nieces believe I’ve achieved that. I’m not done yet. EM
  19. None of the pics or videos I looked at on cruisedeckplans showed a split bath. EM
  20. I’m making a list of things to look for on my next cruise, which unfortunately isn’t until December 10 on Seashore. No YC questions though, as I’m booked in a Fantastica OV. EM
  21. Divina’s US debut was in September 2013 from Miami. Three day cruise. I was on it.
  22. On the MDR on Seaside they mostly poured water automatically, Acqua Panna, room temp. Only one night in a different part of the MDR did I get ice water from a pitcher. I was in Aurea but the second leg of my 4/3 on Seaside they converted the lower MDR to My Choice only. Upper MDR was still fixed dining. EM I drank mostly iced tea from the buffet, though I also got it in MDR. I like lemon in it, just a squirt of lemonade. When they apparently ran out of lemonade, I just asked at the buffet bar for a lime wedge.
  23. I posted these pictures on another thread for someone asking about Ocean Cay. Over the two days, I walked most of it except the separate small island with Bimini Beach and the YC area. There are shuttles to take you around, but they don’t run very often and fill up fast.
  24. I can’t answer for coffee, because I never learned to like it. I drink hot and iced tea, in limited quantities because after awhile the tannic acid gives me acid reflux. So, I’m drawing a blank. There is a bar in the front of the Marketplace buffet on deck 8 that has coffees. But as you are in YC, I’m sure you will find coffee easy to find….your butler will be delighted to assist. As to Ocean Cay, take water shoes, as some beaches are not as good as others. My experience was at Lighthouse Beach, the closest to the ship, but I understand there is not as much ‘surf’ at some of the others. Once you are finished bathing, visit one of the toilet buildings. They have showers on the side where you can rinse sand off body and feet. I suspect it’s all cold water, but might feel good. Unfortunately, it is outside so you can’t strip down and wash it all off…as it is not a clothing optional beach. Hmmm…maybe MSC could consider setting a portion aside…. EM
