  1. Think of it as an extra long Carnival cruise, with the same activities. My TAs on other lines had great enrichment speakers. Nothing like that on Carnival. It will be an older crowd, few children. EM
  2. In this case, I would choose HAL. I have done transAtlantics on HAL, Celebrity, and Carnival. Also longer cruises on all. I like a nice afternoon nap, but on HAL and Celebrity, I had trouble fitting it in due to all the interesting activities, including great enrichment lectures. my Carnival TA on Dream was by far the least expensive, but with a lot of sea days there was not one speaker. Managed to get the naps in on that one. I had several others booked that were Covid cancelled. EM
  3. If you spend over your customs allowance, the ship notifies CBP. If your husband’s overage was jewelry, and it was EFFY, it is not dutiable because it is actually made in the US. But sometimes the duty on the overage items is not worth the time the paperwork takes. EM
