  1. Those eyes on the side always remind me of sperm…. EM
  2. Wish they would transfer Costa Deliziosa, too. The last of the Spirit class. They could replace to last of the Fantasy class when they are retired, as they can get into the ports the others can’t, like Tampa and JAX. EM
  3. Yaayyy! Another Spirit class ship for Carnival! Just been over on cruise deck plans checking her out. I know she is another Farcus design, but looking at the cabins, the interiors are pure Carnival. Same colors, couches, etc. since she will be spending our summers in Alaska, might be an excuse to do it for a third time. EM
  4. Ask on the board here for your cruise line. EM
  5. OMG…I just did a dummy booking for that date, and came up with an inside solo for $45, plus $255.86 taxes, etc. Total for solo $300.86. Of course, airfare from the east coast non-hub city would be a killer, plus hotel…. Amazing. Wish I could go. EM
  6. Not quite true. Shopping cart handles remain on Golden and .Star Princesses, now sailing for P&O AU as Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter. The only ship to lose the handle was Grand. EM
  7. All ships are spectacular to someone who has never cruised before. Maybe it is time to try another line. EM
  8. If you read through the previous threads, you will get a pretty good probable explanation from @chengkp75. EM
  9. I was speculating if she could fit under the Dames Point Bridge in JAX... Stumpy coming into Nassau:
  10. Your original thread was moved to the Cunard forum, where you do have a few more replies. EM
  11. And she's off! . And not necessarily unique to Carnival ships...Jubilee had her funnel docked when she became Paccific Sun for P&O-AU. Tropical lost hers when she went to Costa. EM
  12. Funnels were altered on the original Jubilee when she went to P&O Australia to become Pacific Sun, and Tropicale when she went to Costa. EM
  13. Been Pepsi since sometime before Covid. EM
  14. Roughly the same size as Oasis class??? Seashore: 169400 tons, 2270 cabins, 4500 double occupancy Oasis: 225000 tons, 2800 cabins, 5600 double occ. EM
  15. What is P.A.T.? My experience is hotel have shuttle buses leaving at different times and you sign up for a time when you check in. We never took the first bus because I couldn’t get my sister out of bed that early. EM
  16. I would expect MY insurance company to be making the contacts, etc. EM
  17. The short cruises, 3&4 nights over a weekend tend to attract large extended family groups that can be oblivious to their surroundings. Shorter cruises attract the younger demographic who don’t earn much vacation time. Other parts of the world get much more vacation time than in the US so go 7 days or less. The same demographic might prevail on some European lines, but I suspect not on P&O and Cunard short cruises. We were on a 4 day cruise on Cunard QE and found very few non-Brits aboard, and not only did they not party, the liked to dress up every night, not just the formal night. EM
  18. Our last cruises before Covid were a 2 night on Equinox followed by 8 nights on Carnival Magic. We just took a cab from where Equinox docked to pier 4. Both in FLL, of course. EM
  19. They are looking at Carnival Pride, as this thread was moved from the Carnival board. EM
  20. We docked in Kotor on Nieuw Amsterdam in 2012, only large ship there. In 2013 on Silhouette we tendered. EM
  21. Totally agree about the Iceland itinerary. Totally different geography from Norway. You will still go into fjords, if not high walls with waterfalls. But you will still visit at least two waterfalls. EM
  22. I believe you can book them on the TV, in the app, or on the screens around the ship. my experience on three of four MSC sailings is that the non-US passengers, especially the women, will dress up more for every dinner, not just formal nights. EM
