  1. OMG, did his bag ever get out of the middle of the Atlantic?
  2. All of the above. plus on ours . we had special theme buffets nights ,grilling by the infinity pool and also for some lunches. WE had a very active roll call and met some wonderful folks who were on the cruise. We would gather together in Explore Lounge or even on the sport deck where there is seating. We had a very gentle crossing in late March April. Six sea days in a row was pure luxury !!!!!!!
  3. Thank you for your detailed review. I too would love to go back to Bermuda. Loved the island.
  4. Welcome to Viking ships. Your experience on an expedition ship I hope will produce a nice trip review. Glad you are going to the Baltics on another Viking ship in the future. Thanks for answering questions from Crystal cruisers. I have no need to ever sail on a Crystal cruise, but that is just me reading their forum for a number of years.😆
  5. All cruise lines are experiencing staff shortage. Mostly due to COVID of the crew members. So less crew on any given day to do what needs to be done. Remember, COIVD is still, among us. .
  6. Yes it is El Corte Ingles! Could not foe the life of me think of the name. love their lower level with he food area and the great wine bar. The stools are big corks! And the taps are great. Let like a local having Cava there. Cava is my favorite sparkling wine. Also do try the white sangria in Barcelona too. Excellent.
  7. Go to the big department store on Placa Cataluyna. On lower level is a great wine bar in the middle of the wine section.. Sit and have some tapas and Cava. and you can buy all your wine there to take on the ship.
  8. Yes there is a salon on all ships for hair, manicure and pedicure take your pick. It is right by the spa check in desk.
  9. Your t observation makes perfect sense. folks are ready to make the most of their vacation after a long drought. I do feel lucky I chanced it and did two cruises in 2021 when the ships were less than half full. Good to see ship are now full again. Glad you enjoyed your cruise overall.
  10. Please report back on your flight and luggage to get to Stockholm. Have a wonderful cruise , once on board you can relax!
  11. Welcome to Viking Ocean As the above post states , you get 1 reservation to Manfredi ( Italian) and Chef Table( tasting set menu rotating every three days) . If yo do not get the time you want when your window opens, don't worry. Once on board. you will be able to secure reservations in each venue. The Restaurant (MDR) does not need reservations. Just show up and you will be seated. sometimes around 7pm there might be a little wait but not a problem. World Cafe( buffet) is also available for dinner. Go down at 5 pm and see if you want to eat there for dinner. They have great seafood nights. Have a wonderful cruise.
  12. Yes, MSP is a hub for Delta. They also have direct flights to Paris . Rather leave and return from MSP than Atlanta or JFK. KLM is in alliance with Delta. so one ticket and my bags go all the way through to my destination.
  13. Exactly, my reason to fly Delta to Europe in 2023. I live 10 minutes from MSP. Get on the daily flight to AMS and then KLM to Stockholm and on return Copenhagen to AMS to MSP. CONVENIENCE is worth to me. I will never be able to flying Delta One class, but a nice window and aisle seat in economy is just fine. to get to Europe and back. the Sky pesos are just a little bonus to use before I die.😇
  14. Opps! LOL it is the harbor of Malta
  15. Congratulations Clayton getting 5111. We were in that stateroom in October 2021. Malta to Barcelona. I will try to post the picture from the balcony of 5111,t when I open the curtain on our first morning morning . Best view ever! The ship sailing right past us after she entered the harbor of
  16. Welcome ! Here is the roll call I started. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2845002-scenic-scandinavia-june-12-22-2023-viking-jupiter/#comment-63369833 Needs some new life... LOL Cheers, Patti
  17. I was curious when I saw that the Neptune sailings were listed as SOLD OUT. Now I know why, thanks for the update. Wonder where Neptune will be redeployed? We are booked on the Jupiter , June 12-22 for the Scandinavian Scenic cruise. There was still lots of DV staterooms available when last looked but not for some other categories. DGHOC, are you now on the June 12 sailing on he Jupiter?
  18. Having not sailed on a E class ship , I am enjoying your detailed review. Food sound amazing at the various dining venues you chose.
  19. Lovely evening here in the virtual explorer lounge. Had a wonderful afternoon celebrating my granddaughter"s 20th birthday. Went shopping and early dinner. Now I am ready for a cocktail with gin, but not a martini. Bartender, please surprise me ! I will just sit here and muse about my next cruise 300+ days away.
  20. Reserve the private dining rooms once you are on board, as per Tayana post above. We reserved an evening for a group of us from our roll call in private dining room next to Manfredi. It was a fabulous evening with great service. we ordered off the Manfredi's menu.
  21. Have a whole year to plan this pre cruise and post- cruise( Copenhagen) In Stockholm we will fly in a day early , go to a hotel, walk around, have a nice dinner somewhere and second day go to Nobel Prize museum. then take taxi to cruise port mid afternoon to board. Our Viking ship stays overnight first day and sails the second day in evening. How far is cruise port to the old part of Stockholm where the Nobel museum is? How far is airport to old town hotels? Any suggestions of hotel for one night, prefer a local hotel not a big international chain.
