  1. How full is your cruise? Hope you can stay far away from these boorish fools.I enjoy your posts here on this forum. My next cruise in June is basically sold out , so with a full ship I will be able to ignore the few who always complain etc . They are on every cruise .
  2. I am interested in all information about this new expedition ship, Polaris. Please post pictures . Looking forward to your report.
  3. Yep check your MVJ often , many times some excursions which were filled now have an opening. Also check with guest relation when you board for the ones you would like to boo. Everyone gets one of included excursion. . I always got my excursion I wanted ,even being waitlisted when I was on board. Many cruisers once onboard realize some of the excursion they sign up for are not easy or they need a sea day or a million other reasons to cancel. Everyone knows when excursions open depending on stateroom by looking at your MVJ. Also for booking speciality sociality restaurants check MVJ. Once onboard you will find Viking is nothing like Celebrity . Enjoy.
  4. Constellation is my favorite ship of Celerity still sailing. Look forward to your trip report.
  5. Carla, I joust love your description of your Royal Suite. and all the perks. Enjoy every moment. Cheers!
  6. So happy tot see this new trip report. I have been to Athens twice and love everything in their Greek world. Enjoy the food. Look forward to your posts. Safe travels.
  7. I have used Viking Air three times and all from MSP , Always got the price that was stated on their promotion, including free airfare on one cruise.
  8. Go to the Viking Ocean Web site and click on Home Land cruise. Scroll through the itinerary day by day and you will see descriptions for all excursions. Look up booking date in your MVJ and book your excursions when they open up. Make your list and enjoy dreaming about your upcoming cruise.
  9. I have so enjoyed your very unique cruise repost and best of all your attitude. Glad you are doing an extension in Sydney. No need to hurry home. We had 13.5 inches of snow at MSP as of this morning, and more snow this evening. I too enjoyed the Chef Table Scandinavian menu espiecally the dessert. .
  10. Yes, you can use your shipboard credit to pay for gratuities once on board. or anything else on board that strikes your fancy. Welcome to Viking forum and your first Viking Cruise. Where are you going ?
  11. Yes, my Silver Spirit package will cost me $250.00 (which includes gratuity on each drink) for my 10 day cruise. This would be the first price increase since Viking Ocean started sailing. No big deal. I agree that it is still a good deal if you love cocktails
  12. Clay , Alls well that ends well. 👏 Good for you for pursuing the voucher issue.
  13. Sorry to hear of your experience the day of departing the cruise and your airport experience.I doI hoped you enjoyed the cruise itself. It is the very reason I made a vow to myself years ago after second cruise ,on another line , never leave a cruise and go directly to airport. I want to was on back into normal life as slowly as I can. My next Viking Cruise I will be doing their post extension and so looking forward to it. But we booked our own air both ways. I now always stay for a least one day or even two before flying home. I did deviate from this on my first COVID cruise on Viking Bermuda Cruise in July of 2021, but that was special circumstances because of COVID testing done by Viking and Bermuda.
  14. Look forward to your trip report. A group of six should have a great time on this Holiday cruise. BTW, you are missing our snow(8.1inches at airport on Wed) and blizzard conditions for the next 36 hrs. Friday we will have a wind chill of -31 and real high temp of -5 Merry Christmas!
  15. Glad to see the method used by OP still works for booking shore excursions. If one is all sold out do not repair. Go to guest rations once onboard and get on a waitlist. Every cruise I have been on had cancelations by folks for their excursions, and always go the ones I had been wait listed . Especially when there are no or few sea days, peole forget that they need a relaxing day and so they cancel. I myself have canceled an included excursion because I just want to stay on the ship and relax and use the spa.
  16. So happy for you Jim to be back on a Viking Cruise, And a Holiday cruise no less! My first cruise on Viking was on the Viking Sea , a TA from PR to Barcelona. Love old town, and the ship is right downtown. Look forward to your posts !
  17. Off topic, but so good to see you and your wife will be back on a Viking Cruise later this month. I hope you will stop by forum and give us a report.
  18. Loved your trip report and the great photos of Greek ruins. They are spectacular after all these centuries. I also love the way you travel before and after the cruise ends. No need to rush to airport after a cruise. I too love to savor the whole experience at a nice hotel or post extension, before flying home. Thank you again for taking your time to take us along on your adventure.
  19. I am looking forward to the long days into twilight ... I visited NewGrange in Ireland many years ago. I am fascinated by the Winter/ Summer solstice and how the ancients recognized these special days.
  20. Stopping by the Explorer Lounge for a nice Jameson and splash of soda water drink. Cold and dreary outside in my real vicinity, but cozy here with the great fake fireplace going strong. I am happy to have paid the final payment today for my cruise on the Viking Jupiter in June 2023! Lots to look forward to as I dream about visiting the land of my ancestors in Denmark on the Scenic Scandinavia cruise June 12-22. Will be in Denmark for midsummer🥂
  21. I am loving your posts. I have done the Corinth canal and the Corinth ruins and museum. Same engineer who did the Suez Canal . It was a nice sea level passage. I love icons and am impressed with your excursions to the various monasteries and convent. Love your pictures.
  22. look forward to your impressions of this TA. I love these cruises.

    onto

The OP has only three posts. So they are getting use to Cruise Critic format and forums. Not like FB at all.
  24. Look forward to the rest of your review. I loved the transit of the Panama Canal many years ago. It is a wonder of the world. My dear friend was on the same cruise. She said she had a great time.
  25. We have been lucky cruising in warm weather. We order room service breakfast before a morning excursion and eat it on our balcony . the table there is proper height, though small, it hold plates and beverages for two. I also love eating breakfast in Restaurant , when it is open, and love when they bring the plate of pastries and the variety offered. I know they are also available in WC but having them served to you I always take one , but not the WC.
