  1. Nothing special, except a larger size. All 3 MDR's have the same menu prepared in the same galley. Cielo does have the Chef's Table special dining table. The other two have the Wine Cellar special dining table. Estrella also has the section for reserve class dining. Post #2 should say Chef's Table. There is no Captain's table like shown in the Love Boat TV show.
  2. Let's say you plan to have dinner at Alfredo's or another casual location. You have already paid for a dinner as part of your fare in the MDR or the buffet. Now there is a charge for the casual meal. So the passenger is paying twice for the evening dinner. It is the definition of ripping off customers, paying twice for one meal. I can't imagine that the cost for any of the casual meals is greater than the cost for a DR or buffet meal, no matter how poor the quality of the DR/buffet meals would be.
  3. Agree with the OP. There should be a non alcoholic plus/premier fare that is less in cost than the alcoholic one.
  4. Ruby & Enchanted also. Probably others. My guess is re-pricing for the new plus & premier fares.
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding is that if you paid $60/day then yes. If you paid $50/day or a lower price then you will be able to upgrade by paying the difference.
  6. Here you go https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/
  7. The alcoholic drink limit is 15 per person per day with each 24 hour period beginning at 6am. There is no limit on non-alcoholic beverages. I don't know anything regarding photos.
  8. Visit the Crown Grill on boarding day to discuss.
  9. Posts 2 & 3 provide excellent information. I agree that you should look each day while you are at home. People can and do cancel. When you get on board there should be booking screens at the tour desk. Check there on boarding day.
  10. Yes, a T.A. can help. All depends on the category you are trying to book. You also indicate that you are looking at a cruise for late December/early January. This sounds like a holiday cruise. Holiday cruises probably have strong bookings. Cabin availability may be short, and could be a reason that Princess has decided to assign cabins themselves.
  11. Starting very soon medallions will be sent to Canadian customers.
  12. You can find bar hours in the patter. The Piazza bar opens in the early morning. Depending on the ship one bar at or near the buffet may be open in the early morning. Other bars open at various times
  13. What time of the morning was this and what port? Usually at some point the tender ticket process is discontinued and passengers can just report directly to the pontoon.
  14. I think you should review the brand new, announced yesterday, additional benefits with the plus fares and the additional costs of those with the standard fares. These new benefits and costs begin very soon on the Sky Princess.
  15. Future cruise deposit(s) while on board a cruise cost $100 each. Each FCD has a unique number which is shown on the letter from Princess and in your Captain's Circle account. Depending on when these deposits were purchased they have different expiration dates. Future cruise deposits can be used to make a full deposit almost any cruise, except world voyages. When used to make a deposit an amount of OBC is applied to your account. The amount depends on cabin category and length of cruise. Future cruise credits are usually provided by Princess in situations where there is some unavoidable mishap such as cancelled sailings, shortened sailings and many other reasons. These credits can be used to pay any portion of a cruise, but do not come with OBC.
  16. Sounds to me that the plus and premier fares will increase. Also sounds like Alfredo's will have a charge for standard fare passengers. Did Vines ever have meals? I thought they had comp. sushi with wine. Guess sushi will no longer be comped. Another thing that is happening are larger passenger loads on new builds. It is a way to spread around the dining. New builds will probably have more dining locations. Sort of a reason for Dine My Way.
  17. "There are some BD grade balconies which don't have a couch " Post #5 is somewhat misleading. It is mixing up cabin categories as well as mixing up the word "premium." Any cabin category that begins with the letter "B" is a balcony category cabin. They are BA, BB, BC, BD and so on. Balcony category cabins do not have sofas. All deluxe balcony category cabins begin with the letter "D" such as D4, DA, DB, DC and so on. They all have 2 seat sofas. In the Princess system cabins that end with a number such as D4 are considered "premium." This may refer to factors such as location on the ship, larger balcony or maybe other factors. Interiors of all "D" category cabins are the same unless an exception in red print is noted on the Princess deck plans. The blue cabins shown in the photo in post #5 are category D4 cabins. As an example cabin M619 is also a deluxe balcony cabin, category DC, on deck 15. The interior will be the same as say D720. However, you will see that M619 is a connecting cabin. If you search around the deck plans you will find many deluxe balcony cabins, a few are connecting cabins, most are not.
  18. The answer is maybe. You have to ask the staff member present if they will allow you to board your entire party.
  19. Yes, two seat sofa. It has been reported that on some sailings deluxe balcony bookings are guarantee only. Check this out for your sailing. Some deluxe balcony cabins have larger balconies which are partially uncovered. You can find these at the deck plans on the Princess web site. Standard balcony size for non extended balconies is 9ft x 4ft. The Princess site also shows which cabins are connecting cabins if you are looking to avoid them. Check the connecting cabin box on the deck plan site. After booked if the $300 OBC shows in the credit section under payments for your cruise it can be used pre-cruise to book excursions. The OBC can not be used pre-cruise for anything else. Any credit balance, OBC, will net against any on board purchase except for the purchase of future cruise deposits. Future cruise deposits are charged directly to your credit card.
  20. As mentioned meeting location is almost always mentioned. Most times it is a separate location, but I have run into it being the same DR location as everyone else. Priority tendering may have a short wait. Staff mixes in priorities with Princess tour groups as seats are spots available. You are also mixed with non priority passengers.
  21. If you have 33 cruise credits that means you are already at the elite loyalty level which you were awarded on the first cruise after you reached 15 cruise credits. There is no further benefit beyond 15 cruise credits.
  22. According to the site below the quickest one way train from LeHarve to Rouen is just under 6 hours with multiple changes. I believe the bus ride to Paris is 3 hours, half the time. There appears to be some bus services which take around 75 minutes or so. You could also try to rent a car for the hour+ drive. We went to Honfleur by cab. Something like $35/$40 each way and a 40 minute ride. If you have not been to Honfleur it's a nice place to walk around. https://www.thetrainline.com/en/train-times/havre-to-rouen?&msclkid=76948d6f76411297c9dce9af7787560b&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=EN_Routes_^_BE_FR_^_Exact_BSH15E8&utm_term=havre rouen train&utm_content=EN_Routes_^_^_^_^_Havre_^_Rouen_Exact&gclid=76948d6f76411297c9dce9af7787560b&gclsrc=3p.ds
  23. No. What I am saying is that there is little benefit as all passengers in the green lane as well as most in the blue lane will basically walk quickly on board once boarding begins. The time between priority and non priority boarders has been compressed so that the benefit is basically eliminated. https://www.cruisemapper.com/news/12091-princess-cruises-eliminates-scheduled-arrival-times
  24. Actually it is 15 cruise credits or 150 days. One cruise credit is earned for each cruise segment or voyage. One additional credit is earned in a full suite or as single in a cabin. Singles in a full suite earn 3 cruise credits. I have been elite for a very long time. Over that time the benefits of elite status have diminished in value. The two best remaining benefits are free laundry service (usually takes 3 days), and priority tender (water shuttle) to shore at tender ports. No priority on the return to the ship. Laundry service is a nice benefit for longer cruises. It isn't much of a benefit on most 7 day cruises. If you have the no frills fare then there is also a 50% discount on the purchase of wifi. Wifi is included in the plus and premier fares, so no additional benefit. This benefit kicks in at the platinum level. You can also reserve in the Dine My Way app after booking. Others have to wait until they pay for the voyage. No more real priority boarding or boarding times. Boarding for everyone is very quick with the Green and Blue lanes. It's basically just walk on. Princess also runs a most travelled lunch or cocktail party. Those invited are based on days, not cruise credits, on board Princess ships. While the amount of days varies depending on who is on board, the lowest number of days required is usually in excess of 500. For some cruises, example Alaska, the number of days can be substantially lower. I have not seen better cruise deals because of loyalty status. Better cruise deals come by watching for promos. There are no hidden requirements.
