Really ? In the MDR at dinner ? I am onboard on Sunday and hope that doesn't happen.

When I first started cruising nearly 30 years ago, bathrobes were only available in suites if my memory serves me right. I can remember some would parade in the buffet area at breakfast with a superior air of snobbery. Don't see so much these days and IMO it isn't a good luck away from spas and outside decks.

I always check comparison and cashback online sites before renewing all insurances, can save a lot of money.

Preparations are going full steam for our Arvia cruise on Sunday. A dry day forecast so the grass will be cut and a tidy up of the garden. Getting things together and the grand packing will take place tomorrow. Very early start on Saturday, hoping to arrive in Bournemouth around lunchtime, traffic permitting. What a temperature change !

Many thanks for the menu and comments. I have done some research and looked on trip advisor. The hotel has gone from a contender to a must do ! It will be a nice break next June, I have relatives about an hour away so will be able to visit. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Would you recommend the hotel ? It certainly looks very good. Not cheap, but you have to pay for quality these days. Hope you don't mind the questions, but I am looking for a nice hotel for next June and this one is certainly a contender.

81 was also a good year for me. After a few years in married quarters in RN and police, we finally bought our first house and my first promotion the police service. Happy days.

A controversial statement but when you see people struggling with two sticks and falling over, it's very worrying. I was also on Iona in January and didn't see anything to give me concern.

Fred is not for us. The only cruise we did on Balmoral was lke a nursing home at sea, and I am 77.

It is far worse today than it was in the 70's,80"s and 90's. No respect for any authority and certain types enjoy baiting the police. The stories my great niece tells are mind blowing and she only just completed her probation, 2 years.

Good morning, a lovely few days forecast so the patio will have visitors. Managed to book the Olive Grove and the Beech House for a couple of nights at each for our 17th Sep cruise on Arvia. Collected my new car this afternoon. Drove into a shopping complex, I stayed in the car. Experimenting with the digital screen of the entertainment/ sat nav and suddenly a voice said "Which emergency service do you need ?" Brief thought of amazement and replied " So sorry, fiddling with screen on my new car" " Are you sure you're alright?" " Positive, so sorry." Still don't know how it happened, a red button is situated on the headliner near the windscreen. Imagined hearing sirens and police cars descending on me !! Love the car😁

Looking at Aurora and Arcadia prices for September and October 25, a balcony for 18 or 19 night cruises is very similar to the price I have paid for 35 nights on Iona for January 25. No thanks.
