  1. Indiana it's your life and if you have the means to improve your pain, there really is only one answer. You don't have to commit a fortune, I hope, if you did I would question the clinic's ethics. Try it and make your own mind up as to whether it is improving your life and hopefully continue.
  2. I can't imagine the pain you and your sister are experiencing. My very best wishes to you both.
  3. So sorry Josy. I seem to be getting too much news of serious illness.
  4. Getting back to the thread question, iona wins for me hands down , I don't like the layout of the Britannia and the Iona has more to offer all round.
  5. Yes. Your point is ? Mine is that people wanting to experience lunch will now have less opportunity.
  6. Not happy. We are on Azura in January. Now it will be busy on sea days. WHY ?
  7. Good morning. Slightly overcast skies, no rain. Off to Meadowhall, first visit since covid, hope it isn't full of charity shops 😁.
  8. Many thanks @TigerB for your well written review. For anyone yetto sail on Iona or Arvia it is an accurate summary of what to expect.
  9. Grey day here, not going out so not too bothered. Email from P&O promising fantastic offers, their words, starting Tuesday with Black Friday offers. We shall see.
  10. A quick search soon found it.
  11. Gas engineer has been. Whose a silly boy ? Me. I assumed because I could see the display that the batteries were fine - wrong. It was explained that there was enough power to show the display but insufficient to trigger the boiler. Two new batteries and all is well. Lesson for me and any of you who may be as ignorant as me on these matters. 😁
  12. Good morning, bright and cold. Waiting for the gas engineer. Went out shopping yesterday morning returned at 12.30 to a cold house. Turned the thermostat up, no response., ran the hot water tap, boiler fired up, hot water and cold radiators. Phoned BG, no appointments until this morning. Luckily we have an electric fire so that came out. At about 5.30pm I heard the boiler and the radiators were getting warm, all good since then. i haven't cancelled the engineer as something is obviously wrong, probably the thermostat. Got to have a reliable heating system for the winter.
  13. Never say never. Hope for me yet, I might be invited to return to police duties 😁
  14. Fate. One of my best friends in the RN, David Briggs, tried to persuade me to sign for pension, I had already been accepted for the police. We kept in touch and he went down onboard HMS Sheffield, could have been me.
  15. I always remember those who I served with who gave their lives in the Falklands. I had left the Navy 9 years earlier but others signed for the full 22 years. RIP
  16. A very fair summary, if our cruise on Azura in January is similar I'll be happy. Thanks again.
  17. Thank you Selbourne , followed throughout your cruise, very useful information.
  18. Exactly my thinking Phil. If I can get a cabin I want, position is important on a trans Atlantic crossing , I wil go for it.
  19. They change all the time. On Arvia in September it was a similar offer, a bit more OBC but 10%. I would be happy to pay the price currently asked, with 10% discount increased OBC. We will see what is on offer.
  20. I hope the 10% discount and triple OBC is on offer in January. I have got my eye on Arviia, Sep 25, 22 nights to Caribbean
  21. A lovely sunny day here on the South/West Yorkshire boarder. I just hope the demos planned in London don't disrupt the Veterans on Armistice Day.
  22. Thanks. Looks good, a seafood basket and fries on our balcony in Jan on Azura for lunch looks good.
