  1. That sounds like when my father ordered a drink. "Whiskey on the rocks, hold the ice!"
  2. Reminds me of a sign I saw at a restaurant in my college days: SHOES AND SHIRTS REQUIRED TO EAT HERE (PANTS CAN EAT WHEREVER THEY WANT TO)
  3. 🎼what do you do with a drunken sailor....🎵 I'm sure it's just part of the maneuvering tests. They do look funky, though!
  4. Silly question -- do they let people climb up the lighthouse? (That's something I like to do, but a lot of lighthouses won't let you, for legitimate reasons.)
  5. This is what the Broadway shows in Vegas have done forever. Same thing but different.
  6. Am I the only one who saw this heading, and thought of people tipping over wheelchairs, a la "cow tipping"? 😆 Seriously, there have been times I've availed myself of the wheelchairs at the airport, usually if there is a major distance in a connection (I am ambulatory, but not fast). Usually, I've done $5 to $10, depending upon how much they had to hustle. The one time I tipped big was when I came back from Europe, and my knee had totally wonked out on the last day. At IAD, the wheelchair guy took care of me for over an hour, waiting for the one customs guy -- he was going through the bags of the guy in front of me very thorouoghly. I tipped him $30, mostly because of the time involved.
  7. I think I read somewhere that they've made some adjustments of the Viva, eliminating the second (smaller) Starbucks unit in the Indulge area in order to put in more seating.
  8. This is how we did ours (we're kind of the reverse -- flying into Athens, then back from Rome). Looking at two one-way flights was almost twice as high as the multi-city (aka "open jaw") flights. But .as jsn55 said, try all the permutations possible.
  9. What is the date of items you found relating to delays? If you do a web search, you'll see a lot of items that refer to delays for the Viva, and they are pretty much all from summer 2022, when most of the summer 2023 cruises were cancelled. They've since added back three cruises earlier in August, and it looks like things are good for their "new" delivery date.
  10. I would agree with you. The ship is a shade short of a thousand feet long, which I would think is a "big ship."
  11. Well, it did work a lot better in a glass bottle than a plastic one -- and certainly better than in a can!
  12. This begs the question from this n00b, specifically with the Prima. Which restaurants are the cover charge restaurants, and which ones are the a la carte?
  13. Not always true. I prefer to use the chat function as well, but when I recently tried to cancel a shorex, the chatter said I needed to call their magic phone number to do so.
  14. This begs a question. It looks like booking the shows and online check in start at the same time for most of us (21 days out, midnight ET). Which should take the priority, especially if one isn't diehard set on having the earliest boarding time possible?
  15. Just a followup on my earlier comment about our Sept12 2023 cruise -- when it wasn't showing as available (I had it saved to my favorites just so I could track prices), I went through the long way and got the same cruise, same specs, but the picture of Istanbul was replaced with a picture of open water. That's why I'm leaning to the likelihood of just messing with the computers at their end.
  16. I noticed something similar today on our Sept 13 2023 Viva cruise. Like yours, I don't see any change in itineraries (or in port times) or pricing. After making sure I still had a booked cruise on NCL.com, I figure it's just either a computer update or a computer glitch.
  17. It seems like the chair hogs are ubiquitous wherever there are chairs to hog. We've seen the same issue at beach resorts we've been to.
  18. From what I'm seeing on callback boards, it looks like folks have been getting the final callbacks (or "thanks but no thanks") emails this week.
  19. The casting call said "End of contract TBD up to six months." https://www.pearsoncasting.com/beetlejuice
  20. The one time I had one of those left me sitting for much longer than I wanted to before I sobered up, and usually handle alcohol pretty well.
  21. I'm an accountant. I believe that could well have happened.
