  1. Make sure you get a receipt. I learned a painful lesson. I had purchased OBC for myself and was told it would not show for a couple of days in my account. However, after the 4th day, I went to Guest Relations and they had to call Miami to investigate. It did take awhile for the process to play off. Last time for me purchasing OBC without traveling without a receiopt.
  2. What ship will you be on? That would make a difference.
  3. Do the cruise lines guarantee clear skies?
  4. We had no problems getting a 2 top in Tuscan and Normandie. There were many around us as well.
  5. When you get on board, take a walk thru each of the MDRs. You may get a sense of what atmosphere is comfortable for you. Each has a different feel. I enjoyed Normandie and Tuscan. Don't worry as it is Anytime Dining.
  6. The music in the ad brought back memories of being on hold on the phone for long periods of time last year. Response time has greatly improved for me this year.
  7. I agree it is time to resubmit. The morning after I had submitted the form, I received a confirmation that it had been received. Two days later, another email was received saying the request was approved and the OBC was applied to my sailing.
  8. No theme nights in the MDR. However, if you are eating dinner in the buffet, there are nights such as German night, British night, etc. highlighting foods from these areas. After dinner, there may be a white out night by the pool, 60's night, etc. where you are encouraged to dress in a certain way. Check your app.
  9. Yes, it is open to all. The menu has been reduced but still worth checking out.
  10. I would agree with you. Years ago, there was a hurricane and we still had a great cruise with a modified itinerary. The cruise will leave in nearly all cases.
  11. The Silent Disco was held in the Grand Foyer on the Equinox and Silhouette.
  12. Don't expect the menus to be accurate. On our cruise, people were expecting prime rib one night and guess what? Wrong night.
  13. Agreed! It was standing room only on our cruise. We also had 3 nights of Silent Disco which was better attended each time.
  14. On the Ascent, Color and Consultation was free. Permanent Color is listed as $99 and up. Prices can vary port versus sea days. This is from a brochure provided on the ship.
  15. In the late afternoons and evenings on Beyond and Ascent, the place was really busy. The area serves as a sports bar with many televisions. When we were there, there was basketball, hockey and tennis being shown. It is not a large area. Get there early...
  16. I believe the goal is to increase participation. Silent Disco truly does that and it is alot of fun. I was initially skeptical but give it a try. One of the problems with the traditional dancing is the small size of the dance floor. Just count the number of cruisers dancing to the sounds of the Silent Disco and that is your answer.
  17. There were many complaints of noise in rooms on Beyond. Choose your room carefully. Or make sure you bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones just in case.
  18. I would go with Reflection. Longer is better especially in an S class ship. Loved the specialty restaurants on the Reflection. Beyond would not be my choice due to creaking in rooms. I am sensitive to noise.
  19. I would be more concerned with bad weather if one were flying. As for the ship, we departed around this time of year during hurricane season. There was a major hurricane and our itinerary was changed. Our Western became an Eastern cruise.
  20. It could be just luck for me but I have not had difficulties getting a pool chair on Royal. It has been a different story for me on Celebrity. On our last several cruises, people are up at the crack of dawn reserving chairs and not showing up until after their excursions had ended and had lunch. .
  21. At opening night, the Cruise Director will often talk about the performers that will appear that week. As mentioned, the shows will remain the same.
  22. Great tip. We had poor internet on the Equinox. After speaking with IT, a technician came to our room with a "signal booster" which made a huge difference. We no longer had to leave the room to get decent service.
  23. I also miss the Central Park area on Celebrity ships. I would say the biggest difference is the energy level on the ships. There is a lot more to do at night on the Royal ships. More people participate in the late night activities on Royal as well. Burgers and pizza are not a reason to cruise on Celebrity. 😥 Better on Royal. Also, we really enjoyed the Junior Suites on Royal on the rear of the ship. Huge veranda and great views.
  24. Tuscan Grille is a Speciality Restaurant on your S class ship, the Eclipse. Tuscan Restaurant is a main dining room on the newer E class ships. The views from the restaurant on the Eclipse are the main attraction to us.
  25. You offer great advice. What I typically say is "Do you mind if we join you?" Next time, "Is anyone sitting there?".
