  1. Since we are just off a TA where people freely coughed, hacked and sneezed while serving themselves in the buffet, I wouldn’t be against this. One woman sneezed into her hand, then proceed to serve herself with the tongs. At least when seated we can choose to be away from others.
  2. We used a taxi last week to get to the Renaissance FL Marina as I didn’t have phone service. Never again! Cab was filthy. I hadn’t been to FLL in years but knew it was close by, he turned the wrong way and when I pointed out our hotel, he said it was a condo!? He took us to the Hilton Marina and when I said it was the wrong hotel, he took us back. I paid him in cash and he asked for a tip! What! I just said no, because he took us to the wrong hotel and didn’t listen when I pointed out the right one. I felt like saying, “No, because you’re bad at your job!”. Next time, I will be sure to use Uber or Lyft.
  3. So, nothing to report back as I decided to go with another cruiseline that we also had cruise deposits for.
  4. I agree, hotel prices everywhere are elevated for next year. I guess they’ll try to get what they can as people start travelling again. We always book on our own a cancellable rate, and keep watching the prices. Next fall is a long way away.
  5. At the International Cafe which you can use your Princess Plus for, we had Mighty Leaf brand, but they didn’t have it in all varieties (likely supply issues as we had all on previous cruises). They supplemented it with twinings. If they can get it, it should be a premium tea like Mighty Leaf. Upstairs in the buffet they had twinings, and another brand that I hadn’t heard of, but this was a T/A so I think that was a one off sourced in the UK.
  6. On our cruises earlier in the year when masks were still required, it was indoors only and except when eating or drinking. I really doubt they are expecting it outdoors.
  7. The website has been doing too many strange things lately. My PVP said they have too many overlapping sales right now.
  8. We had it on the Emerald recently and back in the spring they had it in the Majestic, over in the dessert section by the coffee bar in the afternoons.
  9. Thanks, that is exactly wha ours looks like so it does help! The cruise im looking at is already in full payment date, so I’ll have to see if it comes off of the total.
  10. No, I booked it myself through Celebrity.
  11. On a recent cruise I purchased cruise later deposits for each of us with the plan to book something when we got home. I could be mistaken, but I am sure I had seen these FCCs showing in my account about a week later. Anyway, now when I log into my account, there is just a blank future cruise booking with a number. I was trying to book a cruise online, and I can’t see any way to apply my Cruise later deposits. I do have the email confirmations too, but no numbers on them. Is this something I’ll have to call in to do?
  12. Is anyone else having website issues today? My future cruises won’t load, specials won’t load either.
  13. We are just off the Emerald Princess and the Love Boat Dream and the Pistachio Dome were the same as they have always been. These pictures look like they have been given a new “interpretation” by the individual ship executive chef. Consistently would be nice.
  14. Wow! That is impressive. But it does look a lot more like a Canada Day celebration than Thanksgiving. Where are those fall colours? Someone made an effort, but would they have July 4th decorations for American Thanksgiving?
  15. We just got off the Emerald. The crew told us they were preparing for CDC inspections, crew immigration/customs and USCG inspections. USCG we’re on board when we disembarked at 9:30 and we looking at everything! This was the Emerald’s first visit back to the US after being in Europe all summer.
  16. That is an insult. They should do a little bit of work to get it right at least! Honestly, though IMHO it isn’t nearly as big in Canada as the US. We all love our nice thanksgiving dinner, but we often don’t even celebrate it on the right day, lol. Lots of us have it on Sunday instead of Monday so we don’t have to go to work the next day. I didn’t realize how huge Thanksgiving was until a relative who lives in the US explained that it’s more important than Christmas down there as far as family get togethers, obligations, etc.
  17. Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Sabatinis. We went back and forth over whether to try it and in the end never did. The formal night dinner tonight in the MDR was very good. We’ve had quite a few lunches in the MDR, and they are always very good about giving us a table for 2 near the back. They don’t even ask us if we want to share. I think there’s a big mark by our names or something, lol. We’ve been very lucky with our weather this trip and we’re enjoying walking a lot of the outside areas. This ship has a lot of really great nooks and crannies especially on the upper decks outside.
  18. When we’re you able to do this? The last sea day? We also have unused OBC that we purchased. I was hoping to use it for additional tips.
  19. I agree. Definitely a lot of coughing down there. There a lot of other nasty respiratory viruses going around too, so I don’t necessarily think all these people have Covid, but it’s just rude in this environment to be openly heavily coughing around others. My DH was getting over one of these viruses with a lingering dry cough when we boarded and managed to never cough outside of our cabin. I think a lot of people just don’t care or want to believe things are “normal”. I will say, we have thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. The crew have all been wonderful. I can think of so many names to mention on the post cruise survey. The lectures have been really interesting. We have found the food in the MDR to be a little too “saucy” (one dish had 3 different sauces on one plate!), but overall very good. The buffet choices at breakfast and lunch are varied with lots of healthy choices, salads, etc which we love. This is our first transatlantic and we can’t wait to do another one.
  20. I have started keeping a clean mask with me if I’m going out into the ship at busy times, especially waiting for coffee at the IC when I’m standing around a lot of people for a few minutes. We eat in the MDR for lunch and dinner and always a table for 2. We have had the same table for dinner off in a corner, but we do chat with our neighbours nearby. We fortunately are able to take stairs rather than elevators and have always (even before Covid) tended to keep to ourselves, rarely go to the shows, etc.
  21. I am curious about this also. DH and I were discussing this yesterday and we agreed that if in this situation we would isolate alone and the other stay put. As long as we could communicate we’d be ok with it. I know everyone has different perspectives but our experience in the summer with the ease of passing it to each other in a 2000 sq ft house, never mind a 200 sq ft stateroom decided it for us.
  22. Coral, I am really loving your pictures. I always forget to take enough and it’s nice to enjoy yours.
  23. I brought a good supply of masks but haven’t been wearing them except in the theatre. DH caught a nasty bug while we were travelling in Europe before the cruise (multiple tests and not Covid) while I stayed healthy. We also had Covid in August so I guess I have been feeling invincible, lol. We all know what that gets you! We do avoid crowded areas and especially the Piazza. My mask is going on today though as I went down to get our early morning coffees at the IC which is usually almost empty at 6 am. Today with the time change there was a huge lineup, a lady behind me was coughing up a lung, a fellow waiting in front of me turned to avoid coughing at the counter and on it goes.
  24. How was the crown grill? We have reservations for tomorrow, but we’ve been so happy with the food in the MDR that I am thinking of cancelling it.
  25. A couple dining next to us (we all have tables for 2 but chat a bit) said they watch the shows on their cabin tv. I looked and have not found them, only the lectures.
