  1. When Arvia comes along, P&O will probably be flogging getting on for 20,000 cruises a week.
  2. Folk may want to dine early once ,or twice and not be too bothered the rest of the nights.
  3. Shower gel and shampoo in pump bottles in the shower and a couple of bars of soap for the washbasin. We took a small bottle of conditioner. Pinched it from the Melia in Lanzarote. We also took a couple of small bottles of sanitizer. Pinched those from Celebrity.🤣
  4. Normally about 7.30. I think early tables can be booked. About 6.00, but not too sure.
  5. We missed seeing a few, the choice was excellent. We saw izzy in the headliner as Paloma Faith and in the Late lounge. Whoever booked all these acts should take some credit.
  6. Isn't the Azura cruise a fly cruise from £2 , 850 for 2 people in a select balcony that includes £650 OBC?.
  7. On Britannia we prebooked all the entertainment. After showers, but before getting ready we joined the virtual queue. When we went down we popped into Brodies. Normally a wait af 5,or 10 minutes our table for 2 was ready.
  8. Interesting how we will all cope once the lights go out and how much we rely on Technology. If it is a planned outage, you could arrange to all meet up in the coffee shop for..........oh!.😟
  9. Cordless handsets won't work. If the mobile networks go down, so will pay as you go. But as this is lighthearted banter it doesn't matter as most folk have manual corkscrews, so can have a few warming beverages until the leccy comes back on.
  10. If we did a transatlantic, DW would probably ask me to get off the ship after 3 days.
  11. Best to avoid all the sad and depressing news. Any tips on how to reheat gruel without any power.
  12. If you're the only person with a working phone during the apparent imminent armagedon...........who you gonna call?.🤔
  13. I think I need to pop to the shops for some candles. Anyone know how many I should ask for?.
  14. Blimey. Only been asleep for a few hours and didn't realise 1950 had invaded.🤔
  15. I don't think it has. Going back on board, the honesty table looked a bit bare.😉
  16. DW likes marmite with her toast in the morning. He got it for her in one of the little dishes. He took the trouble to fill it right up. That's lots of marmite for 2 slices of toast. She felt obliged to eat it all. 🤣
  17. Absolutely. Each to their own. I once gave talks on a Saturday afternoon to a organisation for retired Clerks of Works. Before the first one I was asked to speak quietly as some members liked a nap in the afternoon whilst the OH was shopping. I didn't do many.
  18. We dodged 3 out of 4. On Iona next year there are only 2. Doubt I will even take a suit.
  19. We have been cruising for over 20 years and don't miss tea dances, or guest lecturers. Never went to any
  20. Some folk moan about P&O based on what others have told them, not having cruised themselves since they restarted .
  21. After a few days, when the weather had warmed up a bit, I remember leaning on the rail watching the dolphins thinking why we had booked. We have cruised with Celebrity, RC and P&O this year. All a bit different and quite a difference in price. We booked for Iona next year and will probably book other cruises and flyaway holidays. As we have never had afternoon tea, or listened to a guest speaker, that is not missed. Some Folk will miss them greatly. They won't book P&O. Simples.😉
  22. On Britannia last week, lots of entertainers and shows. Guest speakers talking about things. Wine list seemed quite good. Glass house available for folk who just wanted a drink. The P&O cruise ' experience ' is fine for us.
  23. Just have in mind Avril that there is a balance. A few folk lamenting the denial of their afternoon tea, compared with the continuous queue of people at the future cruises desk on Britannia and the thousands of folk booking every day.
