  5. My boyfriend went on his 1st cruise last year. I wanted him to experience the 'basic" cruise to see if he would enjoy it, I am diamond and always book inside, no dining package, no drink package I am diamond, did share my drink vouchers with him Conclusion, he loves cruising. And we took our 2nd cruise this year
  6. I usually ask someone that is actually there if they have seen somebody. When I get a no, I move stuff. Usually spend 1-2 hrs max. Move stuff back. NEVER saw anybody in over 30 cruises. If I had been there less then 30 min, I may move. More then that, I would ask them when they left. Agree a towel is not enough to save a chair. Same if you are in the pool for hours, find a chair after.
  7. The way I see it, life on a ship is like ground hog day. I try to buy a huge box of the Halloween style small candy bars mid cruise. When I meet a crew member. I ask if they would like to pick one. I they each have a favorite, and it comes with a memory from home. Yes, cash pays the bills. But a little sweet when you are feeling down doesn't hurt. It tells them " I see you". Ps. And do those that say they are faking gratitude. Try it and see. Positive energy is priceless.
  8. If you already paid but they are not sure the tour will proceed. You should be able to cancel
  9. Not sure what tour operator you booked with. But I would start looking at others I used romeinlimo in Italy. Good luck
  10. I think you need to find a good travel agent. But I just googled " repositioning cruises" and you get different websites that have different search engines that you may want to play with. Normally these are at the end of a season when ships move from one zone to another, they include many sea days and are less expensive Ships that are in the Caribbean for the winter will move either to Alaska Europe East coast for the summer. . Example. Holland America has one ship that goes from Florida up to Montreal early May. That ship then does Montreal to Boston for the summer. ( This year was the Zaandam ). Think of were the ships are which month, and when they would move back. . If you are set on carnival. Look 1 ship at a time for a one year period. You will soon see the pattern. Which I could give you more info, but the rules don't allow it
  11. You can also look at repositioning cruises. And add the cruise before and/or after. This is a good way to visit different parts of the world
  12. I am sure the pressure is finally coming down. I was on a cruise were the captain would say " take your shoulders down, you are on vacation". I love it and try to tell myself that whenever applicable .
  13. Over 30 cruises. . Never ordered room service Until last cruise, I had never had supper at Lido . ( Total of 1 now :(( . Often gain only 1 pound total per cruise ( average 14 days) . Have done at least 3 trans Atlantic ( I lose track). I have often had a final statement spending only gratuities .
  14. You can ' print to pdf". And download a copy to your phone. I guess they want you to review the coverage before calling them
  15. If you still arrive day of cruise, I would try to arrive as early as possible ( red eye). Also, have a plan b for everything
  16. Yep. My daughter was 9 on her 1 st cruise. She would go to kids club and we would have meetup points. ( That was 20 years ago )
  17. I too would report it. His asking is a huge turnoff and in the end is probably penalizing the entire team

  20. We were on Zaandam last month. My 2 1/2 year old grandson was a few steps ahead of us. He stepped into the casino and a supervisor warned us before we caught up with him. The entire scene took a few secs and everything was done with respect on both sides.
