  1. I am 56 hubby is 59, recently retired and we would love CoCoCay! I could lounge at the adults only beach and he could exhaust his inner child. 😁 My kids never cared about water slides or rock walls but my hubby did and still does. We just sailed on RCCL in Dec for a quick trip to Labadee, between the Flow Rider and Zip Line he was in his glory! Patty
  2. Not sure about that either... 🤔 Sailed Gk Isles Beyond 11night in the first week of September and it was much younger than the 7 night Caribbean Beyond in Feb. If Celebrity's "End Game" is younger with money, IMO they're winning! Other than the constant swaying, we had a fantastic cruise. The Apex was the most fun I've had on a Celebrity/Winter Escape sailing in many years. The Pool deck was a roar, the dance party events were a huge hit, silent disco is popular enough they are holding them twice now, the MDR was much improved, the staff were all wonderful and seemed super happy. I honestly see the changes are working for them, Patty
  3. I just sailed 7 night Apex and would guess it was easily 50% under 50's and more in their 20's than I've ever had on any Celebrity sailing. It was a packed pool deck and dance floor. The vibe was much younger and livelier than the Beyond one year ago to date, same week/same port of departure. My observation is that Celebrity is without a doubt reaching their new younger target. Patty
  4. I am sorry, I am not trying to freak anyone out. I told my hubby this morning people are very fearful of sea sickness and if this is a stabilizer issue, cruisers need to know but we all know Celebrity does not want to release this type of information. I honestly hope I am wrong! My hubby is retired Navy, he was the one to notice the speed increasing and decreasing with more than normal vibrations. I am sure that in time the reasons for all the changes will leak, Patty
  5. There is also the Martin Bar, Sunset Bar and Craft Social. I found Beyond to have many before dinner drink options and there is always some entertainment.
  6. As I posted in the other thread, I just sailed Apex. It was swaying a lot! I've sailed enough to know that something was off and my hubby is retired Navy, he's spent many days on the water, he noticed the speed changes and hard vibrations. I don't believe it has anything to do with Norway. Celebrity isn't forthcoming so all we have at this time is a bunch of speculations, Patty
  7. There is an article posted in this thread. Post #19
  8. Hope I am wrong too! Like I said I'm not an engineer and it could be several things but until Celebrity is transparent we only can speculate. The Feb 10th sailing swayed the entire trip, I remarked that while hitting San Juan it should have calmed down by now, our travel friends were very sick. Patty
  9. I just sailed Apex Feb 10th and it was a very rocky ship with relatively calm seas. I am not an engineer but after reading the above article, I speculate it's a stabilizer software issue? I noticed and mentioned several times throughout the sailing how much more the ship was swaying compared to our recent experience on The Beyond in rougher seas. We even noticed the ship would speed up and slow down randomly, the crew even mentioned how much more movement they were feeling compared to normal. So maybe they're attempting to slow Apex down enough to keep her sailing till dry dock March 2025 Just a wild a** guess! Patty
  10. I've been doing some reading/digging and some are suspecting it's an engine issue, Scandinavia and Caribbean sailings are being effected. Patty
  11. Following along since I'm sailing May 2025... Seems this year is getting shifted so I only expect next year to be worse. I have a 7 night that already ports in Bruges, curious if Nordfjordeid is removed what would they replace it with? Time will tell... Patty
  12. This is quite a change, I'm following this years sailings in attempts to keep informed since I'm sailing Apex to Norway May 2025. We have a quick 7 day sailing and if one of the Norway stops are cancelled it would certainly have me second guessing the sailing as a whole. Patty
  13. My kids have sailed RCCL and Celebrity. The water slides and rock wall made no difference in their overall enjoyment. What you see and feel "those poor kids" isn't in reality what my kids reported, as a matter of fact they opted to stay with Celebrity after sailing both lines a few times. RCCL was loud, crowded and the vibe was too hectic. Celebrity has an amazing kids club and the smaller group size made it more comfortable for both my introvert and extrovert sons. Before becoming empty nesters we sailed as a family and always picked itineraries that gave us variety and plenty of things we wanted to do and see together. I'd bet money if you asked my kids who are now 35yrs & 27yrs what are their favorite trips/vacations, RCCL will never be at the top of their list. Patty
  14. Glad you enjoyed your cruise! I also just came off the same sailing. IMO it was the best post covid sailing of 4 that I've taken. The vibe was fun and the crew were amazing! Food options and portion sizes are much improved! Only thing in contrary that I want to mention is that they did have decorations for Valentines. Saw heart shaped balloons and cutouts throughout the shops and the martini bar area. Patty
  15. @GenerationX This is just one of a million reasons why I love to follow your travel adventures Smiles, 😊 Patty
  16. Thanks...Yes I have logged out and back in. No other app on any other device. Sailing with hubby, he doesn't have the app. Yes this is iOS I'll look further into Apple's web page but I believe it's internal with Celebrity... My best guess is that somehow this one sailing got tagged as linked behind the scenes. Patty
  17. I understand the Cel App can be less than dependable but this one is new to me 😵‍💫 I currently have 6 sailings, 5 of them appear perfectly fine. All the options load as they should. I have 1 sailing that is wonky, when you attempt to make any reservations it is greyed out and in small print reads "Link Your Cruise" I have also followed the prompts to link and search for this cruise with no progress. Under My Trips, where all of your sailings are listed. The header for 5 of the sailings has the banner My Cruise in blue but one and it is showing as Linked Cruise in grey. In the app the cruise calendar is empty and nothing is showing as reserved. In the cruise planner on my desktop I can make any reservations and all loads for this sailing as it should. I have called Cel and the CS Reps do not see any links on their end, as there shouldn't be since this cruise shouldn't be linked at all. I have deleted the app and reloaded several times in hopes of it resetting. So now I'm here after several calls and long waits to see if any of you can HELP! TIA Patty
  18. No real data but a point of reference, I booked a Sky Suite $5300 including $800 OBC Grats, Premium Wifi & Premium Beverages for 2. Sailing was Beyond Feb 2023 booked Feb 2021 so you can see compared to todays pricing that was a good price. I opted to go IV and kept all perks for $2100. Those prices have set sail... 😁 Patty
  19. On my past two Beyond sailings, the stateroom attendants personally told us to place the plates/glasses outside the door. I actually questioned this to be sure of what I was hearing and was told yes they have a cart that comes by regularly to retrieve them. I assume it's to lighten the load for the stateroom attendants because most likely the cart "drive by" would be serviced by someone doing Room Service or some sort of other kitchen duty? These sailings were in Feb/Caribbean and Aug/Europe Through the sailing I saw many staterooms along deck 8 doing the same. Thank you @Georgia_Peaches for taking the time to share your cruise with us, Patty
  20. I don't have any information on recruiting the services. I know of them being used in apartment complexes. Patty
  21. Weird! I sailed Beyond Feb and Aug and both times my reservations meant nothing. The hostess actually said those words to me. I 100% believe you just confused as to why there are so many conflicting reports. For me it really was a none issue but I can see for some it might be, Celebrity should be more consistent. Patty
  22. I know...was just answering the question on "how to" I've had the same experience as you, once on board. Reservations weren't honored. Patty
  23. It's under dining at the bottom of the page. Just like specialty dining, you'll select the MDR of choice then select a time and add to cart. Patty
  24. In my personal experience, no they weren't but I still had no trouble being seated. Patty
