  1. It flared out of the incinerator, I should have said incinerator room. 😚
  2. We have one currently booked the same route MCO to PCN in January, there was no problem booking it.
  3. Glad, to say it all worked perfectly on our cruise. It was our first emergency onboard a ship, and it was handled expertly. Also, thank you for your service and all the info you post on these boards it's very helpful.
  4. There was a fire on one of our cruises, forget which one. We were in the middle of a show, no one panicked luckily. turns out it was in the incinerator somehow, fire suppression had it out before anyone got in there according to the announcement from the captain. They were going to cancel the show and redo it the next night but everyone went back to the theater to they resumed the show. I didn't see anyone panicking at all, it was all very calm. Now on a flight home from San Juan it was another story entirely. Out flight had a 300 foot drop with a 30 degree tilt, even the flight crew looked unnerved.
  5. I totally agree, but in the moment I'd had enough! A few people at other tables thanked me. They also had a 2 year old with a toy that played music, that I could understand, trying to keep him occupied, but then the grandmother started playing the music on the toy when the kid wasn't playing with it. UGH! Just one of those things, if they parents would have objected I would have apologized.
  6. I can sympathize with the 2 year old drumming. We were on a cruise with our whole family, 12 of us, my grandson was about 5 or 6 at the time. There was a child of maybe 10 at the next table to us playing cymbals with the sugar container lids. I put up with it for one night, next night they are back again and he is doing the same thing as we arrived at the table, I took them right out of his hand and said we aren't doing that anymore, the didn't show up for dinner the rest of the cruise. I know it wasn't the best action, but I'd just had it, the parents and grandparents weren't even attempting to do anything. I want to enjoy my meal, not deal with clanging cymbals.
  7. I'm ok with the digital copy, I carry my phone now for the camera and use the app, so the compass being digital is fine with me, and I'm no spring chicken!
  8. That is awesome, I hope the people you work for realize how hard you work to make things better and different for the resident's where you work.
  9. This was pre-covid, I get that it changed after covid. Not complaining, just giving my take on it. I'm not young any more, the CD doesn't really make or break my cruise! Years ago they were much more important as we were involved in daily activities much more. Now it's relax and enjoy the trip.
  10. Totally agree, you used to see them all over the ship, now it's just at shows. Don't know if it's just me, we've only been on big ships recently. Going on Jewel in January I'll have to watch and see if there is a difference. We had a cruise on Adventure years ago, it was great, the CD was awesome and his second in command was being promoted to CD the next week, so essentially we had 2 cd's on that cruise.
  11. I have never had walkie talkies work on a cruise ship, and they were not cheap ones. The exception being, when everyone was outside on the pool deck, but they never worked inside.
  12. Don't know if anyone has said yet, but please let us know what you decide to do and how it goes. Thanks! Congratulations 🍾
  13. I totally agree, same thing with Oasis out of Bayonne, it's the same itinerary every week, and it's not a good one, how many times do you want to go to Nassau? Ugh! I get it, you can't get very far in a week, so alternate we did a 12 night on Anthem to the Southern Caribbean, it was fabulous.
  14. That is so funny, I would never do Jet Skis at any RC private island, I don't like to drive in the straight line one by one, I like to go fast over other Jet Ski wakes. It's the one of the only times I'm a bit of a daredevil.
  15. I am from Scotland, it always cracks me up when they put subtitles when on tv they are interviewing someone from Scotland. 🤣
  16. I use one shelf in the closet for dirty laundry, and when that is full I put it back in the suitcase. Makes it easy to pack when cruise is over. I can't stand clutter in the cabin, it's small to begin with.
  17. I know they are still working on it, but is my cabin ready yet?
  18. From Royal's website The Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle onboard gatherings have been discontinued. Guests are welcome to host self-led gatherings in one of our many venues onboard. I hope they reconsider this decision.
  19. i have a plug with 4 usb ports, never had a problem, and i bring it every cruise.
  20. That is just way to funny. I doesn't sound like running water just so you know, just like a roar.
  21. Have you ever tried white noise app on your phone, I highly recommend waterfall, drowns out a lot of external noise.
  22. Coco Cay is a dock so you can come and go as you please, no need to line up to get off the ship, unless of course you want to be first off, I'm sure there are some who are there as soon as the ship docks, we've never had to wait to get off the ship in Coco Cay. The Tram stop is near Chill Grill. Have a great cruise!
  23. Ok, I'm on vacation, that is way too much work, both to pack it and put it up. But it looks great, I'm happy to see it when I walk past cabins that are decorated.
  24. One has an elevator. I'm guessing you would need to book it quickly when itineraries are released.
