Have sailed on all classes of HAL ships and the Zaandam is our favorite! Enjoy!!

Have done this cruise 4 times! Our most favorite. In verandah each time - makes viewing and picture taking so much easier because you can duck into cabin any time you get cold. Dress in layers, have a hat, neck scarf and gloves for outside viewing. We also had hand warmers but didn't use them often. For sure excursion - seeing penguins in the Falklands. Best is Volunteer Park, but we also saw the rockhoppers and gentoos on other tours. Our call to Falklands in Jan. 2023 was cancelled because of high winds so hope you won't be disappointed! Enjoy -- you'll love this cruise!

Recently back from 4th SA-Ant. cruise. From reading some of the negative reviews on CC, I wonder if I was on same trip. True there were some food shortages but there were supply issues in SA too. I was impressed that some supplies were brought in by tender since many of our later stops were tender ports. That is a port decision, not HAL. I also agree from talking to staff that there are issues with getting full staffing back onbosrd! We loved our cruise and thankful for all the hard work from staff!

We have done the SA-Ant cruise 4 times and each trip was different and amazing. The walking area on Oosterdam deck 10 is great for viewing both sides of the ship when traveling Ant. waters. Many photographers found this a great area to take pictures. Not the large crowds like on bow. Enjoy your trip, you will find this to be a wonderful experience and like us, you may come back for more!

Oosterdam SA-Antarctica recently. Esp. enjoyed Motown Encounter and pianist from Japan. Not big fan of One Step dancers but they added a routine new to us that we enjoyed.

Just off Oosterdam South America Antarctica, we had an NFL network that carried many games on our room TV as well as in Gallery Bar. Playoff games will probably be available as well as college basketball and premier soccer. Enjoy!
