  1. Now I'm confused (again).. 😒 I've read on other threads that HMC is essentially cashless for purchases from HAL activities (i.e. souvenir shops, bars, etc). And that cash is only needed for shops and trinket purchases from local vendors. For the HAL sponsored purchases, your key card is used just like onboard the ship, and purchases are charged to your onboard account. If this is correct, they are using computers to swipe your key cards, right?
  2. But this goes beyond individual so-called 'rights'. The behavior you describe is not only disgusting, but also threatens others health when that person ventures out and goes about touching things that others might touch, and therefore potentially spreading germs that could cause others to become ill.
  3. This is not a very good track record. Have you perhaps considered other forms of vacation travel that offer better odds that you're not going to get sick every time you travel?
  4. Have you been in the Lido buffet or even poolside in the early morning of late? Bathrobes seem to be a thing there for some people these days (don't ask me why). 😟
  5. How soon is your 'upcoming' cruise? And if the HIA wasn't offered as part of the deal when you originally booked, you'll probably not get it.
  6. You may have gotten away with this on your particular sailing, but it's certainly not allowed. If there were an emergency, all passageways need to be entirely clear for unencumbered transit.
  7. The reason why they can't be parked in the passageways is for safety during emergency egress. I've never heard of beds being removed from a cabin for any reason, but others with other experience may chime in here.
  8. Don't really even have to ask nicely, you can order a double any time. But it counts as two drinks against the 15 drink limit with the package. 🙂
  9. Thanks Bruce, Our upcoming cruise on NS will include our first visit to HMC, so we weren't clear on the procedures/protocols.
  10. Does this include the bars, and lobster shack purchases?
  11. Are the additional cost items on the island (trinkets, bar beverages, lobster shack, etc.) cash only at time of service, CC, or can they be billed to your onboard account?
  12. If you came onto this thread just to bash smokers, and pat yourself on the back for successfully quitting, feel free to move on now. Like yourself, I also quit several years ago, and haven't looked back. But DW still smokes, so we tend to spend a fair amount of time relaxing in the ship's smoking area socializing with wonderful, friendly people.
  13. We're scheduled for a stop in Key West next March on the NA. Hope we get to go because we're really looking forward to that visit.
  14. Yes, for example if you ask for a margarita with 'Cabo Wabo' tequila ($10.75), this would be included in the SBP. Whereas, one with 'Patron Anejo' ($14.50) would not.
  15. @Reds4lifeWell, it's been a while since your original post, and inquiring minds want to know.. Have you decided whether you're going or not? 😟
  16. As long as they're below the price threshold depending on package.
  17. Which counts as two drinks on the package..😉
  18. Have never 'sat on hold for hours', so not sure where that comes from. Pick your poison.. Use a PCC, and hope it works out for you, or manage your booking yourself and own it.
  19. If you know as much (or more) than the average PCC does about the particular situation you're calling about because you've done your homework, they will have no choice but to honor your request; without hesitation, or having to be adamant to override any reluctance. This is one of many reasons why I act as our own PCC, and deal directly with HAL in every situation. A PCC only serves to muddy up the water in most situations.
  20. We've never done the wine making onboard, but have thoroughly enjoyed several wine tasting events on several different cruises.
  21. Typically no hesitation whatsoever, just have to be persistent and have your ducks in a row when you make the call.
