  1. I got a chuckle out of the whole dialogue about John, Robert and Sally. Reminded me of those grade school word 'problems' we used to have to try to solve. You remember them, right? "Robert had 2 gallons of lemonade to sell. Sally bought 1 pint of lemonade and gave 1 cup to John. Robert then sold another 2 pints to Peter. How much lemonade does Robert have now?" 😂
  2. I'm still wondering it this is offered anywhere (MDR, Lido buffet) on non Pinnacle Class ships that do not have the Grand Dutch Cafe venue. Does anyone know? I'm hoping to be able to enjoy this on Nieuw Amsterdam (Signature Class/no Grand Dutch Cafe) next Spring. 🙂
  3. Hopefully it makes the menu at other times than just the holidays... sounds really tasty!
  4. Was that cabin assignment your choice, or was it a guarantee assignment?
  5. My point is that 2nd, 3rd, 4th hand anecdotal 'stories' like yours are unverifiable and only serve to unnecessarily concern people in the hyper-sensitive COVID world we live in these days. I'm not implying that you or anyone else made up the story, just that it really serves no useful purpose sharing it here unless it is first hand knowledge that is being conveyed.
  6. I noticed that the video you shared was filmed on the Nieuw Statendam (Pinnacle Class), which has the Grand Dutch Cafe venue. I'm hoping that it's available on other ships as well (that don't have the Dutch Cafe). 🙂
  7. Awesome... thanks! Looking forward to trying one or both of them on our NA sailing next March!
  8. After reading this thread, I'm really interested in trying the 'bitterballen' treat on a future sailing (next on NA March 2023). 😋 Is it available at any time on other than Pinnacle Class ships with the Grand Dutch Cafe venue? 🤞
  9. Might call for a last evening shopping spree in the onboard shops to use up anything left over. 🙂
  10. NY pizza is also on the Signature Class ships. Love their pizza! 🙂
  11. As long as you arrive and are seated prior to closing time, they will take your order(s), and you can enjoy your meal. They won't kick you out.
  12. Regarding the Lido, it means that they close the service stations (stop serving) at 1pm. you can take as much time as you want, and/or linger there after that time. I don't feel that the MDR lunch menu has changed all that much (if any) post COVID. It has always been somewhat limited as far as choices, but also always very good.
  13. Honor system, as long as the TV is on and tuned to the correct station. 😁

  15. Lol... almost as good as 'room stewart' or even better.. 'dinning room'. 😂
  16. Hearsay, anecdotal information that should be ignored.
  17. 1. The Malecon is the 'Boardwalk' along the beach in PV. If you start from the north end near Hotel Rosita, you'll pass all the shops, bars and restaurants as you stroll along the way. 2. Walmart (and Sam's Club) are literally right across the street from the cruise port. When you dock, you will be able to see both of them from the ship. Very easy to get to. 3. About a 10 minute ride to Hotel Rosita (north end of the Malecon) where we like to get off. 4. Yes, just walk along the main street and hail one as they approach. 5. Always negotiate the fare before getting into the cab (either way). We paid $12 U.S. one way in April.
  18. Perfect... just BYOB and don't crank the music too loud because those cabin (room) bulkheads (walls) are paper thin! 😉
