  1. Crickets.. that should tell you something..
  2. It is readily made apparent in the course of every booking. Apparently you were not paying attention is all I can say.
  3. I'm thinking that your 'problem' IS using a TA. I have found that booking and dealing directly with HAL usually yields better results in these types (and most) situations... YMMV 🙂
  4. To return to OP's original question: "Question ... Does HAL do price drops before final payment and you get to keep your perks" The answer is yes, but varies according to your particular booking situation. Best to call HAL and find out if it applies to you.
  5. My recent (successful) price drop experience described in post (#8) above had to be elevated to a supervisor who was able to make it happen, which of course made me happy 🙂
  6. We are not on your same sailing, but a similar itinerary in March '23. We're also doing the 'Flavors and Traditions of Puerto Plata' excursion in Amber Cove, DR.
  7. Thanks for the information and encouragement. Did the dummy booking, and saw a price drop for our March 2023 sailing on NA. Just got off the phone with HAL, and they matched that fare and I was able to keep all of our original perks (HIA and OBC)! 🙂
  8. I just booked Tamarind for our March 2023 sailing on NA using HIA specialty dining credit. No problem..
  9. And the hot hors d'oeuvres during Happy Hour..
  10. Make no mistake, HAL will definitely be 'different' than the other mainstream cruise lines. But probably NOT in the way that you and your family are looking for.
  11. It's not so much that they don't want you to 'target tip', but more that they want to encourage folks not to remove the auto-gratuities, so that none of the service staff (some very much behind the scenes) are overlooked. So, as long as you do not remove the auto-gratuities, you can tip any one individually that you want to, and they can keep the entire tip.
  12. Don't need a shuttle to the port if staying/parking at the Wyndham. The hotel is literally right across the street from the cruise terminal... a short walk.
  13. If they don't ask for your key card... it's free! 🙂
  14. On Zuiderdam in April they had 'Lido Deck Sales' similar to this..
  15. Indeed we do. And since we're local, we don't need a room for the night before, just the parking itself. Wyndham offers dedicated cruise-only parking for non-guests of the hotel. 🙂
  16. Even worse idea, since the car likely won't be there when they return..
  17. We always park at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel right across the street from the cruise terminal. Reasonable rates and quite convenient..
