  1. They still have afternoon tea. We went to one a few weeks ago.
  2. How exactly are tips distributed? Does Carnival keep any of it? Which team members get them? Do team members have to turn in cash tips? I would love to settle this stupid argument once and for all.
  3. Then get a second sandwich, FFS. I would not have been able to eat the entire first sandwich, and that would have been wasted food.
  4. I guess I would focus on getting a security system that keeps people out of my house in the first place rather than rely on a system I would have to constantly monitor so that I could yell at intruders. 😃
  5. Cruise 2. I love San Juan and St. Maarten is possibly my favorite island in the Caribbean. Plus IMO it's always fun to go to new ports.
  6. The official limit to be away from your chair is 40 minutes. If you see one unoccupied for longer than that, don't be shy about folding up the towels and placing them and anything else in the chair/clam off to the side. People have done that to me. I deserved it (I tried to claim a clamshell and sneak off to breakfast), and I just took my things when I got back and went somewhere else. If someone tries to make an issue of it, just say that the chair was empty when you got there, and you have no idea how their stuff got moved.
  7. I am just wondering what those people expect to see on the cameras and what they intend to do about it if they do see something. They are going to be out in the middle of the ocean.
  8. In theory, yes, but how is someone on a ship supposed to convert that to cash?
  9. If that's the main place you want to drink, and don't want to fetch them from the bar, then yes.
  10. No limit on the apps. And I have found that lately, they have been serving them all at the same time - I have gotten my soup and salad together. It's probably to save trips to the kitchen.
  11. Does anyone know which ship do and which ships don't? I have one of those Revlon brushes and it has worked on every ship I have taken it on. I have not been on any Excel class ship yet, though.
  12. Exactly. There was a poster a few weeks ago that called the fries "disgusting" because she did not care for the seasoning.
  13. My guess is that it is going to be at least six months to a year. Major changes to menu items is a huge deal. It's not just Emeril handing Carnival some of his recipes. Approval by the beards is probably a drawn-out process. All the ingredients have to be sourced, all of the cooks and dining room staff have to be trained, all of the printed and electronic information (menus, etc.) have to be redone. And I am sure there will be a big PR campaign involved.
  14. There is definitely an additional charge for eating in the specialty dining restaurants on the Horizon.
  15. I assume she knew that once you add grenadine, it is no longer zero sugar. 😊
  16. They let our son "age up", but he was only 2 weeks away from turning 12 and he had an older sister in that group, so that might have made a difference.
  17. I sail a lot on decks 1 and 2. Personally, I like being far away from the buffet and pizza. Less tempted to pop up there for food that I don't really need to eat. Also, cove balconies are awesome.
  18. Same here! I have seen some pretty talented folks on that show!
  19. IMO, you would have to be an idiot to intentionally ignore any rule that says that you can be denied boarding or put off of the ship if you do. Rules may not be applied consistently, but that doesn't guarantee that they won't apply them to you.
  20. For all you know, that person may have just popped in the room for a bit and wasn't intending to keep it out there permanently. Scooters in the hallways are a huge safety hazard and my guess is that Carnival would get in huge trouble if they got caught allowing it. I didn't realize that it's okay to just ignore rules we don't like.
  21. Based on your post, it sounds like you have this question to answer: Who are you going to believe - the company that makes and enforces the rules or the company that is trying to sell you the scooter?
  22. When have you ever known a Carnival team member NOT to happily accept anything you hand them? It's called politeness. They would much rather have two singles. Anyone who hands out $2 bills to be "memorable" is just creating a hassle for them because they are harder to spend.
  23. The real reason is that $2 bills are so uncommon that many people don't think they are real. I wouldn't be surprised if merchants (especially those outside the US) are reluctant to accept them as well.
  24. LOL I didn't see the Bottomless Bubbles part. Thanks for the correction!
