I am not sure that you can use your one experience to make blanket statements about every high-floor balcony on every ship on every cruise. I have never needed a fan.
And seeing that FTTF sells out on many, if not most cruises, it is not overpriced. If anything, they could probably raise the price some and still sell out.
It also insures that they will only be giving them to the people that actually want them. I am sure before the "scavenger hunt", hundreds of those things went straight into the garbage every cruise.
In a case like that, I would mention to the person that I am tipping that this is a little extra in addition to the standard gratuities. That way it is clear.
If it were up to me, I would take it one step further and make the new casino the smoking one. I hate walking having to walk past/through the smoky casino on the promenade deck to get to everything else. The new casinos are a little more out of the way.
As one shouldn't. Even the porters tell you to always carry on a bag that has your passports, important paperwork, medications, etc.
And I also put a swimsuit and a change of clothes in my carry-on in case there is a major delay in getting my luggage delivered.
ð John Heald just announced the new gift on Facebook - 3 different pieces that one would get on successive cruises. The first is a logo duffel bag, next is a fanny pack (or as he called it, a "bum bag") and third is a toiletry kit. It appears that there are additional items inside the bags, but he really didn't go into detail about them.
This. While the ship is still in port, I just use my phone's data plan. The other good reason to do that is DH and I share a Carnival WiFi package, and this way we are both able to use internet at the same time.
Well, I normally need two seats together, so that is what I look for. And if someone is going to the bathroom, that means they are going to be back in 5 minutes. And how about going before you get to the show? ð
On the same ship, we went to the comedy show about 10-15 minutes before the start, and the host said over the PA system, "If you see any empty seats, please take them. Seat saving is not allowed". Kudos to him.
If you do get there early, don't be a jerk and reserve seats for other people.
On my last cruise, we got there 20 minutes before a show and a couple had saved an entire row of great seats for their friends. Two of them showed up 5 minutes after the show started and the rest of them never came.
