  1. Consider me the unwanted houseguest that never leaves. I'll be here until you kick me out.
  2. Agree with others. Love coves but avoid under the galley if you have that option. I'm sure there are some cabins under the galley that aren't noisy, but I wouldn't know how to figure out which ones aren't. At different times, we've been under guest services, the excursions desk, and the front corner of a dining room...no noise from those.
  3. Agree with another poster - Lanai hot tubs are great. Decks 6, 7, 9, and 10 - go all the way to the front of the cabin hallways, and you'll find a door leading out to a forward deck. It can be windy at times but is a great view. Also, go to deck 9 forward at night time, and you can get a great night shot of the side of the ship, This forward deck has a "side area" for viewing. Take closed toe shoes if you want to try the ropes course. Ocean Plaza is a good place for music.
  4. I was shocked to see this area too. We were there in Oct. '23 and the pool was open, but they were still working on the area around the Splash Surfing (FlowRider). We didn't stay in the port area though. We taxi'd over to Mahahual for the day.
  5. Day 3 I joined the Live...bad as Stewart. I'm below average at best. Great review so far and looking forward to the rest.
  6. Cruised on both - prefer the Magic over the Sunrise. Been on Magic about 5 times and would not hesitate to go again. Sunrise is probably a one and done for me. Plus the extra day and the ports would lean me towards the Magic too.
  7. As always, great review Kim! Thanks for taking the time to do it. One question...in the Dominican Republic, I noticed that Sakari had her glasses on after you all started hiking and were away from the locker area. What did she do with them while jumping and sliding? DH wears glasses too, and we want to do the falls when we're back in the DR. The one time we had it booked, we couldn't port due to winds.
  8. Here's a pic from online showing the steel door that can be closed. It's a little larger than the regular balcony door so you should still have the window view in the event the doors get closed. We've had roughly 10 cove balconies and never had them closed. We love being so close to the water and enjoy the ones closer to the front of the ship but not all the way forward. It makes for great pier runner watching.
  9. Dang, I got the cruise crud too...minus the cruise. @MeganGC1983 - Thanks so much for the Live. It was fun following along for the week. @cxr133 - When we cruised on the Celebration, we were in a cove balcony. Definitely smaller than the coves on the Dream class ships but loved the Celebration overall.
  10. This was such a great review that my feet are still aching from all the walking, my stomach is still full from all the food, and I'm still a little hung over and in need of @MeganGC1983's Liquid IV. If this is your last live, you're going out on top.
  11. Still following along and just realized I don't currently have any cruises booked. May have to get busy and remedy that situation.
  12. What's that saying...better late than never? We'll I took that saying to heart. I started your review back in October and got roughly half way through. Then life got busy in early November with daily babysitting (baby niece) and followed the holidays. Today I was completely caught up with the current Tribe cruise reviews so I decided to jump back here and finish reading this one. As always, you and your wonderful photographer did an awesome job with this review.
  13. Along for the ride....figuratively, not literally (sadly). Hope you all have a fantastic cruise!
  14. Joined as #223, meme game is on point, and ready to cruise virtually this week. Now going to catch up on @pebbles1102 and @MeganGC1983 's reviews.
  15. I mean if you can't send out one bag of dirty laundry and get back 3 bags of clean laundry, did you really do the laundry challenge justice?
  16. Excited to be along for the ride because I know, no matter what, it will be a good time. Hope you and B have a wonderful time.
  17. Remember that one well - Total Loss Vehicle Party of 1 (well two if you count the DH too). My vehicle's pic was on the Park 'N Cruise website so I had a good idea that it was one of the more damaged vehicles. We were able to get a one-way car rental the day the port opened back up (and we weren't price-gouged). Oddly enough, I was completely calm. Carnival was great. We were rerouted to Western Caribbean, kept safe, and phone lines/internet were opened up to all passengers when we found out the port was closed due to the hurricane/tornadoes. I couldn't complain as we were safe and not in the vehicle when the tornado hit. That's what insurance is for. Because of all that, knowing a day or two ahead of time didn't ruin our cruise at all. We thoroughly enjoyed an extra 4 days on our original 6 day cruise.
  18. What better way to honor your current live than taking a trip on the time machine to read last Thanksgiving's live. Great review, commentary, and pics of the Mardi Gras. I'm 75% of the way through this review and then I'll hop over to the current live.
  19. As others have said, Plat on Carnival will status match you to Gold on MSC. The perks aren't as good as Carnival, but it was nice getting a few things as a MSC newbie. Only a casual casino player here so no experience with offers.
  20. Thanks so much for checking with Patti. Looking forward to the rest of the review/pics (although I know it will be a big time investment for you).
  21. Late due to our own travels but here for the ride. Looking forward to all the Patti pics. P.S. I just want to know where Ryan got his hoodie. It looks comfy.
  22. Great review as always Greg! Glad you had a good trip...well, except for the flights home. Thanks for taking us along.
  23. I've participated in two gift exchanges. We received a lot of what has already been mentioned so I'll let you know what we gave. On the first one, we gifted tropical themed Christmas ornaments (fall cruise/would work for Christmas in July too). The other one we gifted local jam made with fruit that our home state is known for (spring cruise).
