  1. Am I to assume that since you were able to keep your original OBC, that means that every time someone else upgrades, they automatically retain their OBC in every instance?
  2. Rent a satellite phone for the trip might be an idea to consider.
  3. Then the airline you flew on (or the gate people) failed to do their due diligence. Alaska Airlines in Seattle wouldn't let you past the boarding gate until they ensured you had a completed ArriveCAN document.
  4. Let's not forget the Alaska State Ferry System. It has cabin and meals.
  5. Sorry but that is a question that cannot be answered as asked. I haven't filed with Allianz, however I can guarantee that out of the hundreds of claims that may have been filed, I would bet the mortgage that at least 1 of those claims has been denied.
  6. Sorry you had this problem. However, since EZAir is a consolidator, it's possible they didn't have enough allotted slots to place all 7 on the same flight.
  7. Does it save each and every individual passenger time that you can notice? No Does it or will it shave time off of boarding all 3000 passengers. Probably about an hour once everyone starts using it. I would imagine that it is or was a Six Sigma project or a Lean workout that help create this program.
  8. The question asked was WHY, could this happen. I offered an opinion. Nobody said it was an excuse for it to happen.
  9. You should ask this on the insurance board here on Cruise Critic. There are some very knowledgeable people who may be able to guide you better. Cruise/Travel Insurance - Cruise Critic Community
  10. I think it’s just a matter of the world coming out of a lockdown. People just letting their hair down a celebrating their lives coming back to normal. As with all things in life, some are just pushing it too hard.
  11. Unfortunately, Air2Sea is nothing more than a consolidator. Could very well be that the restrictions on the ticket when negotiated don’t allow much wiggle room for changes. Air2Sea air travel tickets are NOT the same as a ticket you would buy direct from the airline. In fact if you buy more than 1 ticket, each ticket could have different restrictions. 99% of the time, you’ll never know the difference. But, sometimes, when flight operations go TU,,,,, problems. Of course a good marketing plan will never tell you this.
  12. Nwcruiselover is correct. If you are asking about separate airfare that you purchased on your own, hotels, or 3rd party excursion that you’ve already paid for then no. Carnival CFAR will not include those costs
  13. Good job staying with it. Sometimes you do have to push back and/or appeal to higher authorities Just goes to prove that travel insurance companies WILL pay out for VALID claims.
  14. absolutely not. Its a consolidator ticket. There are restrictions involved. The ticket from Air2Sea is not the same as the ticket you buy direct from the airline Having said that, there are some pluses but if you educate yourself on what you are buying and make a knowing and educated decision to buy from Air2Sea, then you can avail yourself of those positives. However, if operations go TU, you could find yourself at the bottom of the barrel looking for help. You can educate yourself by reading this thread found in the Air Cruise section of Cruise Critic. Long reading, old thread, but still holds true today.
  15. When YOU become the CEO of your cruise line, then I guess you can make that decision. Until then, you are correct when you say, "comply or make alternative accommodations".
  16. Sharing my experience on Carnival Freedom this past week. It’s only $5 for the entire cruise for the “Chat” feature. However, it was hit or miss if it actually worked at all. Sometimes the delay on delivery of the message was hours. Sometimes you had to close the Hub app and restart it to get your messages. If it cost more than $5, I would say don’t do it. Obviously since it’s only 5 bucks, Carnival has no reason to try to improve its operation.
