What type of behaviour? They are all traveling together. This is just resource allocation. The fact that they get a discount will only inspire them to cruise more to get to that level. We’ve done this with family for years. And, you know what, we’re all now diamond or higher. Do I think the cruise line feels hard done by, no. I think they like the repeat business.

Absolutely none whatsoever.

One suggestion, alter your reservation so either you or your fiancé is listed in their cabin and get them the balcony booking discount.

I honestly think they meant out of consideration for people who may be immune compromised.

How formal is formal night?
Airbear232 replied to Babyjax12's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Hmm, “Pro” Photos is a stretch. I think there are two main reasons for the decrease in people picking up packages. 1: Price, they’re just too expensive. Have a reasonably priced package. 2: Most of the Ship Photographers don’t know how to use their equipment properly or compose shots well. Bad pictures at a high price don’t sell. In terms of “formal” or “dress up” nights, I think the limits on luggage and tendency of a lot of people to have carry on luggage, limits what can be brought. Personally, I always enjoyed the formal nights. For holiday cruises, I still bring a tux or tails. For most others, a couple of suits and some sport jackets. I know, I’m very much in the minority. But my DW and I enjoy ourselves. -
When will The Quest return on all their ships?

As is, the novelty is long gone. Most passengers have seen it. -
Maximum age on shore excursions? WHAT?
Airbear232 replied to ddled's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Really, won’t this exclude more than 50% of Royal’s client base? Can see someone getting chopped if excursion revenue drops. -

Wow, that's absolutely crazy. How was the lunch?

For internet, in port no, as long as you don't mind roaming charges. At sea, yes.

You made me laugh, not at you, but because of a memory. A few years back, my uncle Les who was about 90 at the time came to visit my parents from the UK. On the flight, my cousin had some loose thread on her clothing and Uncle Les whips out his big pocket knife in the middle of plane saying "here dear, use this is quite sharp." I guess no one searched him. He was of the generation that believed a gentleman always carries a pocket knife. I've taken or purchased knives on cruises and never had an issue nor had anything taken away until the end of the cruise. I really see no issue with a Leatherman or Swiss Army knife. I brought back a nice folding Martiini in July from a Baltic cruise in July.

Why? Diving is an excursion that they promote, they wouldn't let you bring a dive knife in your checked luggage?

As one, who burns really good after they get out of the water, I would love to know. At this point, I've given up on most products. I usually where a long sleeve rash guard and take the burn to my face. I don't like applying sun screen to my face as I do swim and find that whatever the product is, it gets in my eyes and hurts like heck. So, I just avoid it and use the rash guard for my body. If anyone knows anything reef safe that you can apply to your face and actually go into the water and swim, I'd love to know.

Water Bottles or Cans on Allure
Airbear232 replied to J&L~SetSail's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were on Allure in August and had cans. Plastic bottles are on the way out. Look at all the rubbish in the water when your at sea. -
Okay, here we go. 1: Loved: Having been on the Oasis a few times with a copious amount of family, I have to say Royal Caribbean is absolutely brilliant. Oasis is the ultimate ship for families. Cats is the one unifying thing that our large bickering multi-generational family could agree upon. We all hated it. Even the cat lovers in the family hated it and started reassessing their relationships with their feline friends. I don't know if anyone went so far as to contact the SPCA but it was close. It was a dark depressing mess. On subsequent cruises on Oasis, we joked about it and avoided it. So, RCI, thank you for reuniting my family! 2: Hated: Being duped and subjected to utter despair on a family cruise. I, like others, can remember Cats when it was on Broadway. I didn't see it, but wanted to due to non-stop commercials promoting it as well as "Memories." When we went on Oasis for the first time, we were all very excited to see "one of the greatest Broadway Musicals ever." We watched the opening scenes and were confused, by the plot, by the utter darkness and despair. We all collectively left, we could not make it through the torture. In hindsight, I am convinced that the number of people who proclaim how great Cats is only do so, so they can inflict it on others. So, they too will know their pain. Thank goodness we attended the early show on the cruise and got out early. We were left with joy in our hearts that we were alive and could enjoy the sun and each other. Jersey Boys, Hamilton, Chicago, can't Royal come up with something not so depressing. I have to say in reading everyone's comments that those who hate Mamma Mia and Grease seem to like Cats. For us, its true, we love Mamma Mia and Grease and have no tolerance for Cats regarding it as a Wasteland. Note to self, burn any books in house from T.S. Eliot.
