  1. Pre COVID There was a charge for sun beds and an umbrella. Think it was $20 per set, payable at the beachside kiosk at entry point.
  2. A day room is a usual standard (nice) room with bed, shower, storage etc.. The benefits of a private room to change, shower and securely store are great. There is also a list of benefits and discounts available to day guests TTE did kindly post, in the past, that a room for 3 (or more) people remained the same @ $160. So, this would suggest the possibility of 6 sharing a room for $160. However, best to check with the hotel direct on the occupancy point. Do book very early as day pass availability is limited Questions/Booking/Contact. reservation@stkittsmarriott.com Taxi is $20 e/w. But there are taxi minivans available to take all one’s party and think $30 would be a indication of the rate. Plus tip. wishing you all a great stay.
  3. Has one tried to Telephone or send a message via their Face(hard back reading material) page?
  4. Okay, not going to challenge SIL……. Best to leave alone.
  5. Spoke with SIL - Purchased online from Selfridges - checked and showing https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/?freeText=Quercus&srch=Y
  6. https://www.penhaligons.com/uk/en - SIL purchases as a reminder of sailing on the Queens
  7. Pre COVID 2 chairs + 1 umbrella = $20 per set Sadly, lunch was not included in the $20 fee - in addition to the A La Carte there was a daily specials board Best to book one’s stay in advance.
  8. Typically, they are low/mid range, say $60 upwards. Hopefully, one will be able to discover an absolute gem, being at a price one would never dreamed possible. Sommeliers are usually kind and helpful when being asked for the list of Bin Ends. It shows one understands the game.
  9. Additional One tip… All prices displayed at Plywood are in EC$ not US$ As a quick (near as dam-it) mental conversion to US$, divide the EC$ by 2 then take off 25% Grenada is known to occasionally to have a heavy blast of liquid sunshine at the end of the day. Same with some other islands. Suggest packing some of those cheap, disposable plastic ponchos, just in case.
  10. The nearest two of note, with a great ambiance and the feeling of being in Grenada etc., are on Morne Rouge Bay, being La Plywood and Rockey’s. Plus “No T’erds” Check both out on Trip Advisor and make one’s choice. You’ll not regret it…. A small personal gratuity to the wait staff will be unexpected and welcomed. A beautiful island with beautiful people. Have a great day…
  11. Pre COVID A good half day tour in a private cab for two pax was about $200 total including tip There was a regular shuttle water taxi from the cruise terminal to Grand Anse Beach @ $4 pp e/w Purchase one’s water taxi pass from the official kiosk inside the cruise terminal. During peak season, because of the nature and mentality of many visitors, the sea area opposite the beach around the water taxi jetty (not for the those with mobility concerns) can be considered the Caribbean’s largest urinal. There are better beach places over the hill away from the Babylon madness of GA (think rows of sardines, noise hustle etc.), to where food/drink is better, prices are lower, with a true Caribbean ambiance and one’s custom is valued and appreciated. What goes around…..
  12. Agreed regarding non-formal, or casual, restricted segregated dining, However, can dine formal in any dining venue on Cunard. Going forward, one will be formal, or minimum semi formal (suit), on every evening, except the first, as if on a crossing. My DW just loves formal, as it gives an opportunity to dress above cocktail. Yes, also for one’s DW there will be many additional garments, for the usual change of mind.
  13. Every night can be formal, if one wishes. The published dress code onboard will state a minimum compliance standard.
  14. He has a Face(hard backed reading material) page. Message or call.
  15. $30 pp to Great Bay? One can walk it in about 15 minutes, with 2 beds and an umbrella for $20! If taking Great Bay, then walk the Broadwalk to the furthest possible points, with sea on one’s left side. This to avoid/reduce one’s opportunity to encounter effluent. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and services along the Broadwalk Advice. Take a cab to Orient Bech (north end), consider Palm Beach
  16. Pre-COVID only here are their contact details to answer one’s questions CONTACT US 105 Calle de la Fortaleza, San Juan, Puerto Rico contact@olepuertorico.com +1 (787) 724 2445
  17. Cocktails On Cunard = Cancer & Long Island Iced Tea (no cola) In Barbados = Rum Sour - No Eggs, no fruit, no fizzy water with an overproof (big) lid In Jamaica = Port Royal
  18. Sorry forgot to add. Taxis and minivans happy to take USD. Note. Beach chair hire, beach bars etc., publish prices in $ but this is Bajan $. Divide Bajan $ by 2 to get USD. Some traders may forget to advise “tourists”.
  19. Pre COVID- Bus depot would take US$ and give change in local. Take small dollar bills ($1). Most important - When boarding ask the driver to drop you off at the required stop, as they are used to passengers ringing the bell to notify the driver to stop at the next bus stop. No ring, they just keep going, which is not good if one does not know the whereabouts of actual stop wanted. Be warned…. Buses at the end of the day, going to Bridgetown, can be packed and even if one puts one’s hand out to indicate a stop, at an official bust stop, the bus (and possibly buses after) will just drive by. Causing angst……Consider hailing a cab
  20. Bus station is about a 15/20 minute walk from the ship. There're shuttle minivans (taxi) from the holding area outside the terminal. They wait to fill then go, cab taxi captains will direct one on arrival at the perimeter. Just state one’s destination.
  21. If on a budget, requiring a stay for one night at a decent hotel, then consider CasaBlanca. Inside OSJ and close to many restaurants and bars.
  22. Nearly forgot. Grenada is known to occasionally to have a heavy blast of liquid sunshine at the end of the day. Same with some other islands. Suggest packing some of those cheap, disposable plastic ponchos.
  23. One tip… All prices displayed at Plywood are in EC$ not US$ As a quick (near as dam-it) mental conversion to US$, divide the EC$ by 2 then take off 25% One last thing….a small tip directly to the wait staff will be unexpected and greatly appreciated. Wishing your party a wonderful day. It’s a beautiful island with beautiful people.
  24. pre COVID The shopping plaza opens around 08.30 with shops opening between 08.30 and 09.00 hours
